  1. I did. They don't do a very good job showing pics of the black ice portion.
  2. I can't find on the website. Is this still a dipped product that is then heat treated or is it applied differently? I was going to get the metal parts of my 700 coated with something. Going to have to look into this.
  3. I agree with VJP. What are you looking to do with this gun? Might make more sense to consider a caliber with less overlap with your '06
  4. In my view an AR is no different than hunting with any of the auto loaders that have been carried in the deer woods for decades. Our fine state officials have thrown a monkey wrench into the prospect of owning one for me and I wouldn't carry it with so many gray areas in the law and enforcements understanding of it. I agree with you, not worth the butt ache at this point.
  5. On Vanilla Ice cream....mmmmmm In tea and a splash in a double whiskey on the rocks gives it a very nice taste.
  6. The banquet handout is still being completed and we are still soliciting donations. Anyone have any contacts in Western NY with a good fishing charter?
  7. Yeah Eddie but you started out when a musket was state of the art
  8. As a side note Belo. How many times have you taken multiple deer out of a group?
  9. Half he guys I hunt with have auto loaders now. When I was with a group up north that drove all day. The majority were.
  10. It's apples and oranges. put a list of auto loaders to compare the AR to. It's like saying look and the AWD Subaru forester and then questioning why would anyone want to own a Vet.?
  11. It is your qualifiers you toss in at the end of each of your comments that are driving this. "I am just curious" BUT the American is meant for hunting (Like the AR isn't) the bolt gun comments and followed but the old who need 30 rounds of 5.56...lol. There is a reason that the AR platform is hands down the most purchased weapon in the county. Mmay not be what you are intending but you are really sound like your believe it has no place in the deer woods.
  12. You really should get one of these in your hands before you form an opinion
  13. Deadline is today for the early bird. Don't procrastinate, this is a great deal on the general raffle tickets and you won't find a better General Raffle in NY. SO.....Get them post marked by today. .
  14. Gander has AR style with the new post Safe act stock configurations on them.
  15. Not Big Box stores that I have seen. I have seen the stocks there though.
  16. The stock opting seems much more clear though. no pistol grip or thumbhole. Plus the stores must have gotten something if they are selling them on the shelves without an issue.
  17. If you compare it to the semi's it isn't that far off on price point. Look at the 7400, browning or others. . $750-$1,100. Plus the ability to accessorize and switch calibers is a plus that other autos in that range don't offer.
  18. Fixed 4 on my 30/30. Other than that it is 3-9 minimum.
  19. This thread has really sparked my interest. I had thought about it before but I think I will be putting out a couple hives. Not sure which style yet Hate to but them when all the tools to build them are in my garage. Be nice to get them established this year even though first year production is low.
  20. Grow. I understand the "normal" process. Was talking about how the cap is dealt with in the new invention. It is basically "cracking" the cell and is reopened, sealed, refilled and recapped by the bees, apparently.
  21. really unique idea. I was wondering how the wax caps were removed to allow the cells to be refilled. Apparently the bees do it themselves. I like it.
