  1. The best part of putting a metal roof on is the fact that it is raised above the existing shingle roof. It eliminates some of the sins of poor insulation and poor ventilation. It creates a cold line any that helps minimize the melt off from heat loss. Just put a stone coated metal shingle roof on a friends house this summer. Not one icicle
  2. I was just over at a lady's house because she was convinced she had a broken pipe. I have done some work in the house and from where she was describing I knew there was absolutely no plumbing above that ceiling. There is however a nice wall to roof intersection right above the leak and about 12" of ice built up above the top of the gutter. Big geometric house with multiple roof lines, sky lights and cathedral ceilings throughout the house. The back deck has 6" diameter icicles a story and a half tall from the roof to the deck.
  3. Doc, suggestion. When you have the line off of your spinning reel spools. apply a coating or two of car wax on the spool lip and inside surface. Apply just like for a car after you clean it off. you'll notice the difference.
  4. I actually saw more doves this year than any year previously in the areas I hunt. would have liked to have taken the survey. Wouldn't mind adding a bird to the list you can take but have no interest in paying more to do it.
  5. I have done it with Pike and tiger muskie. Came out very nice. I steamed the fillets in cheese cloth prior to adding to the chowder so it could be flaked easily and any 'Y" bones removed.
  6. looks great. may have to give it a try on my 1187
  7. what keeps moisture from getting between the film and the metal?
  8. I was reminded on several occasions that I should have had a stronger grip on that crank when I wore the handle across the back of my hand.
  9. could be up to the gun shop itself but there is not law to prevent a New Yorker rom buying ammo an bringing it in. Part of why the law makes no sense at all.
  10. For activities like you listed Biz, they are not worth the money. Any use (with any cooler) that required opening the cooler frequently, will eat ice and not be worth the big bucks. using it for beer and drinks, you won't see a benefit over a cheaper cooler. I do not own a yeti but have used one twice. It's best use is for long term cold storage. We used one camping and the cooler was pre cooled. We used block ice and the cooler was opened once a day to move the days food into our cooler we opened frequently. I never store food in a drink cooler because it is opened too much, (yes, some of my buddy are boarderline in their drinking habits...lol)
  11. I have an encore that I have rifle pistol and Muzzleloader barrels for. Love it. very accurate. Currently looking for a 308 win rifle barrel to go with my 308 pistol barrel
  12. wow. sat through those videos on the site. That is pretty labor intensive. I couldn't find on there where they discuss the cost per round to do this. How many reloads do you guys think you could get out of a case before the end was too dimpled from the firing pin?
  13. I'd check with some of the coyote hunters on here. I can't imagine something like a 223 with a soft nosed bullet (non varmint round) would make too much of a mess.
  14. Judge dismissed the case. Beware squirrels.
  15. Dom, weren't you talking about how 22LR is nowhere to be had? I suggest anyone wanting a 22 mag, go out and take a look for that ammo. It's worse .
  16. Have the 93 in 22WMR. great shooter. When you can find the ammo to feed it. With the headache it has been finding ammo (Most is running about 30 cents a round or higher) I would try to find a small center fire and reload it. I can reload and shoot my 223 cheaper and a lever gun in a pistol round like 9mm would be cheaper than 22 mag. what are you planning to do with it and how far are you expecting to shoot?
  17. tough for a working guy to get there for it. If they were gonna do that I wish it wasn't always at the same time that they put it out.
  18. I bet you would have to go back to WW2 era to find this.
  19. They are playing games to draw people into the store.
  20. what time were you there Thursday? they were gone late on Thursday and back out on Friday am and the back out on Saturday am. gone by 1030 am on Saturday.
