  1. Early, Have you seen anything outlining the process for after the 15th?
  2. I understand that Doe, I just have no way of knowing how these individuals administering this process will view things. From their instruction video there needs only be a report made and a review fo the report and the process to pick you up for evaluation takes place and the firearms are gone. And this one report is on file and used to evaluate your worthiness of owning a fiream for 5 years. Now how about if you have a child in treatment and they make a claim or threat, do they have the authority under this program to take the parents weapons?
  3. I also did not dismiss their qualifications. They must have them to practice. I was questioning that their aggressiviness in reporting a "condition" could be influenced by their personal beliefs. Are you telling me that you believe with 100% certainty that non of them will be swayed by their beliefs? We aren't talking about a quantitative blood pressure readings here. It IS subjective in many of their diagnosi. Take a person into different psychiatrists and see if you get the exact same result every time? If your assertion is right the diagnosis should be spot on and 100% the same every time? right?
  4. Did I say a diagnosis WOULD lead to the loss of rights? Show me that one. I was trying to convey that they COULD becasue no one KNOWS how this will be implemented.
  5. My apologies that I don't share the blind faith in the Govt that you do. Have you read the entire Safe Act?
  6. They are ridiculous? Does a person with an eating disorder have the likelihood of doing themselves harm? By the definition of the disease they do. The law is not clear in term of a threshold that needs to be reached. It's lack of clarity is my main issue with the law. But you cna't expect it to be clear in the hap-hazard manner it was passed. And you can take all the clinical BS you want to throw but in a psychological diagnosis it is not as clear cut as in other medical evaluations. There is OPINION that is utilized in the development of non-physical diagnosis. Opinions that can be influenced by personal beliefs.
  7. Beyod the control that it gives to a profession that historically leans left, but what would be considered a mental illness that is disqualifying in nature. Is a person with a eating disorder? how about ADHD? Seems like that is the new wave in diagnosis. I cna't even tellyou the number of people i know that take a medication for "anxiety" or stress. Zoloff? "Vitamin Z" Just becasue it helps them deal with the day to day stress. Are they going to be disqualified? Scary scary times.
  8. Combine that with increase in sales tax revenue for the sales of arms and ammo and why wouldn't thay do just that. So the politicians are happy, the ammo and gun makers are recording huge sales so they are happy......Just us, as usual, left holding the bag
  9. If you are in an area and season. that allows firearms then a pistol is legal in any cartrige. Example: you are in a WMU that allows shotgun only during regular deer, you can carry an TC Encore chambered in .30-06 if you have a permit to posess and carry one. (Pistols are not allowed to be carried while you are bow hunting during bow season)
  10. But what if their conditions are serious, should they have a firearm? That is the tight rope. Who is quailified to determine with enough certainty to remove someones' rights.
  11. What did this comment mean then? And for the record there are plenty of laws that tell us what we can and can't do. Laws against suicide? Dr assisted suicide? organ sales? I am on the fence for much of it myself. but it comes down to the belief of when lif actually starts. How far is too far. If a woman feels a week before her due date that she has had a change of heart and doesn't want the baby, is that too late? Many view this as murder and that is easy to form an opinion against it. Those that do not feel it is life at that point and it isn't murder find it easier to support the mother's rights.
  12. why should a man not have an opinion or comment? Oh I get it. Opinions are fine as long as they mirror yours. when they are not in lockstep with yours then they shouldn't be had. Got ya.
  13. Perhaps they should. Perhaps could apply to many aspects of relationships since the divorce rate is so high and moving on with a "family" has become so common without the commitment of marriage. I thoroughly understand the rights a woman deserves and wants for her body. I just find it difficult to totally ignore the males' role and I think to say he has no rights in the matter is wrong. Since we are talking about consensual relationships here, (and I know this will sound crass and uncaring)If the woman wants to maintain 100% control and say about her body, keep your legs together. The same as I feel about men, if you don’t want to be held accountable, keep it in your pants. Once you decide to take that step and choose to involve another person with your body, I am not sure you can call foul and then say they can’t be involved. Perhaps one needs a contract before they climb in the sack nowadays.
  14. Sorry to hear it. Mind if I ask who the insurance carrier is?
  15. Now let's not sensationalize either process. There are risks with anything, In the US child birth is very safe and the process of an abortion is an out patient procedure. You are starting to sound like the anti firearms people with the exaggerations. Heck in third world countries children are born in the fields. It has happened for tens of thousands of years.
  16. Becasue we all know that when someone tells you something or assures you that is the case they never would change their mind, now would they.
  17. we went throgh the ame thing. to this day when my daughter asks why she is an only child, we tell her becsue she was 18 mos old before she slept through the night. I don't know if you were able to try this but it is the only formula that my daughter could tolerate and it made a very big difference. Maybe your Dr has experience with it. It isn't cheap by any stretch. http://www.enfamil.com/app/iwp/enf12/product.do?dm=enf&id=/Consumer_Home3/FeedingSolutions/NutramigenLGG&iwpst=B2C&ls=0&cm_mmc=Digitas-SEM-_-Google-Solutions-_-Nutramigen-_-nutramigen&csred=1&r=3540222422 I hope it turns around for you . Nothing worse that a crying child and at that age they just can't tell you what the issue is.
  18. Cna't remember the winery but I really like "Call me a Cab" http://mileswinecellars.com/2011/09/call-me-a-cab/ It is a Seneca Lake winery
  19. . Let's take the illegal aspects out to the side for a moment like the incest and rape and underaged and mental issues. So Tom and Betty are engaged and living together and intend on getting married. ring. date. whole nine yards is all set. Betty gets pregnant and decides it is too early in her career to start a family. Tom's interest means zero in your mind? Let;s say they are already married and Betty just can't imagine having their 3rd child...again. Totally Betty's call? Just wondering your view.
  20. you have't come out and said it but I was wondering how you phrased this comment. I do take exception as a parent if the govyt allows a minor child to go down this road without parental consent.
  21. I don't have any questions or concerns about her actions but in Carbon's context one of the issues of his concern, rape, is not in her control.
