  1. Belo...In case you missed my question in the increasing pages.
  2. They don't understand that the meaningful tradition of hunting sports has nothing to do with what is held in yuor hand. It is all about what is held in your heart and head and who you share it with.
  3. Reed Exhibitions has decided to postpone, for now, the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show given the controversy surrounding its decision to limit the sale or display of modern sporting rifles (also called ARs) at the event. The show was scheduled to take place February 2-10 in Harrisburg, PA. “Our original decision not to include certain products in the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show this year was made in order to preserve the event’s historical focus on the hunting and fishing traditions enjoyed by American families,” said Chet Burchett, Reed Exhibitions President for the Americas. “In the current climate, we felt that the presence of MSRs would distract from the theme of hunting and fishing, disrupting the broader experience of our guests. This was intended simply as a product decision, of the type event organizers need to make every day. “It has become very clear to us after speaking with our customers that the event could not be held because the atmosphere of this year’s show would not be conducive to an event that is designed to provide family enjoyment. It is unfortunate that in the current emotionally charged atmosphere this celebratory event has become overshadowed by a decision that directly affected a small percentage of more than 1,000 exhibits showcasing products and services for those interested in hunting and fishing. “ESS has long been proud to participate in the preservation and promotion of hunting and fishing traditions, and we hope that as the national debate clarifies, we will have an opportunity to consider rescheduling the event when the time is right to focus on the themes it celebrates.” What a crock of $hit.
  4. What did you use during Regular season and what Muzzle loader do you own?
  5. I don't see the tradition argument but If you do that is your call. I do have a couple questions for you though. Where do you hunt regular season and what do you use? Do you hunt Muzzleloader season and what do you use?
  6. I didn't even hear a shot on the youth hunt weekend this year. I expected to. I thinkthe waterfowl example might hold true in a few area but he vast majority fo the state isn't duck hunt heavily. In you experience though, how does all that duck hunting effect your deer sightings? I can only guess not terribly becasue you continue to hunt there. SO if the guns shots in your area don't effect you I wouldn't think the crossbows would either? no?
  7. I hunt NZ and SZ archery and regular season and you can't even make that statement with a srtaight face, can you? LOL Unless you hunt right near Perch River or a concentrated duck hunting area. You can't compare the amount of shooting in Archery season to regular season.
  8. I for one will be looking at he list of vendors that did pull out and I will focus my purchases to them. I hope the majority have websites or can at least advertise where else they will be.
  9. JFB. That is exactly why our The Greater Rochester and Souther Tier Chapter is making it a main focus to bring educational events like Kip's talk to the area. We are tryign to recruit members and rasie some funds to sponsor these events. Since the Chapter has only been around since our first meeting in October of 2012 and we already have over 200 that have signed up for at least information updates and Kip's event drew 120, I think it shows there is an interest in this area of the State to see the age structure of the herd inprove. By the wy, Thanks for coming.
  10. See that is where your stance doesn't hold up. The inclusion will change nothing about how YOU choose to participate in the sport and not force you to use the crossbow. I don't see the harm in allowing others to have the choice to use it.
  11. SHHHHHHH!!! Midway had shopped shipments of those too. I also believe Cabela's did as well.
  12. Are you kidding me? They suspended shipping to NY uintil they could get clarification on this "clear as mud" law. They freaking people the voted on it ddin't even know what it said or meant. How do you think their business would have held up with some weapons charges against them. It took them 5 days to clarify the legality of it. Get real
  13. Must be the circles we each run in, becasue I don't know any bow hunters personally that oppose their introduction. Not to sound like an old record but whatever archery equipment someone chooses to use in archery season will have zero impact on my hunting experience. as far as the politics. I have heard that speech before too. " I am fiscal conservative but am liberal on social issues" LOL. you can't subsidise the latter and be the former.
  14. Buddy of mine bought the wrong stuff. Thought he was buying 22LR but he didn't He has 5 boxes. Save the shipping they are $15 a box. $70 takes all 5 Face to Face in Rochester, NY
  15. LOL. I guess but the most of ones that want the exclusive weren't even around when the last party was. (Compounds going into archery season)
  16. Grow,,,,, With a daughter starting college in the fall the Terms of Use for the site will not allow me to fully express my thoughts about this topic!!!
  17. My point on the fishing is he took you to do something you had a very reasonable chance of being successful at. A flyfishing only catch and release streem might not be the best activity to introduce anyone new to the sport with. The majority of 12 year olds (heck meny into their teens) need to taste the siccess to keep interested. I have alwasy had a passion for hunting but didn't get into bow intil I was 18. My father didni't bow hunt until I did. I spent 4 years until I do my first deer with it. I think we may be missing som opportunities with the new entrants. So since you say we won't agree and I am all for it I guess you are not for it? Based on not finding a magic word or phrase on this thread? Lets not BS. You have had your mid made up on this from the start. At least man up and admitt that.
  18. But yet again you are pushing your views on others. No one is saying YOU have to use one. I thik it would be a great gateway instrument into the archery season. If the numbers stay the same or go up for ALL members participating in the archery season, I don't see the harm whatever they are using. Crossbows will make bowhunters (with long or compund) a dying breed? Come on. As far as crossbows in gun season beingenough and why would they want more? You can't possibly ask that with a straight face. why don't most bowhunters hunt with their bow during gun season? the answer is the same. Those opposing this have yet to show me an argument that is not focused around the a "concern for them" . Crossbows in archery season won't change my odds or experiece one bit(other than maybe being able to enjoy it with my Father again). It is selfcentered to assert otherwise. I have a question for you. Have you ever fished? When you were first taken fishing what type of fishing did you do and for what species?
  19. I have never seen this done but it sure makes sense. Seems like you have the documentation to claim a donation (I am no tax accountant though)
  20. Biz. He has no interest in allowing it in archery. Rather than allowing a choice or opportunity to other hunters he is just closed minded.
  21. Heck they get $3 per pound for bones...lol
  22. Looks like anywhere from $8 per pound to over 30...lol. . http://www.elkusa.com/Whitetail_venison.html
