I know for a fact id come unglued. I know the feeling working your butt off to pay for it and then getting bent over like that. I agree with you 100%x2. 800 is alot of money, for hard working guys like us.

blinds are sweet. Mine are homemade. But, i am saving my cans and bottles money for one of those new hay/corn bale blinds. I gotta have it. My blinds are all made out of lumber, and elevated, and i leave windows (18"x24") have 3, but only use one, the others i have neglected the last 4 years do to new treestand locations.

my elevated blind, i will sit all day, but im not going to get into that........... Thats my have to take all 3 kids with me stand. They can color, sleep, read and play ds, and stay warm. Very hard to do all day sits for me with kids.

yes i did. And i will do it again. It was on property of ours, and they were trespassing. And i am proud of my new free climber.

if it jumped the string, how did it hit its jaw? wouldnt have it hit the chest, or been lower, or am i just being a dummy?

For example.... If i passed on that 5 point, there is a 50/50 chance i would have not seen another buck.(happened to me quite a few times.) I did him and haw at it, but i took it. It has a rack, it has meat, and i was happy. So I guess im a meathorn hunter. (yes, one word)

I think your getting a little overboard. I dont think anyone on here would, but, again, some people dont get the luxury of seeing those 8 points. They take what they can get. Thats perfectly fine in my opinion.

Looks and sounds like the adrenaline got the best of him. Dead and in the freezer, great. But damn lucky. Like i said in another thread, patience pays off. Wait for the broadside. Its not like the deer would have walked right to him, he woulda veered of somewhere.(i would assume.)

I have that probem...... someone hid a climber at a tree bottom. Now its in my garage. I only seen it twice, but its mainly roadhunters here for me. dec and sherriffs or whatnot will put the smackdown, esp during hunting season.

Treestand placement etiquette on PRIVATE LAND???

i wouldnt get involved hanging stands near the other ones. people can get vindictive. however, set one up in cover a fair distance away, and watch to see who shows, just to see if they actually are being used. But like others have mentioned, dont confront the other hunters. Go speak to the landowner. Wear orange! thats a sketchy circumstance, and its better to be safe then sorry.
