Ill give u 10$ to stay out of 9h ..... ?
-
Shaun, did u get my email ?
-
Indeed it is. It was my grandfathers, prob has less than 100 rounds through it ! Every time I mention my model 700 6mm, somebody wants to buy it. Hard to get ammo for it but its an amazingly accurate, fast and flat shooting rifle, and has no problem putting a whitetail on the ground! Rare and in mint condition, only goes out on clear days when I'm gonna sit still and far from brush. It will ALWAYS be in the family !

Trust me, I dish it out whenever I can ! Made sure I told the taxidermist to make my bucks neck bigger than his too... it should be anyways but regardless, I must prevail !
-
Well, as of yesterday he's at the taxidermist. Now to pick a form.... nice thing was that my fathers bucks antlers fit inside mine, and mine had 3/4" longer nose... all in friendly competition, but I like having the bigger buck

Some of my favorite spots are less than 5 acres. I hunt one spot which is 20 yards wide by 150 yards long, and it produces late season deer every year ! If it were me I'd see what kind of movement you have there, like now, when there is snow. If u have lots of tracks, than u have a good idea about movement. Tough thing is going to be not over hunting it.

I found a Cree online that does a green flood and a white spot... I'm a fan of anything Cree so I will do some digging on that and the ones you guys mentioned. Thanks ! Btw I would like it to reach out as far as possible. Minimum of 100...

Looking to invest in a worth while led spotlight. I have a hand full of million candle power halogens but they all suck and I'm sick of them ! A friend of mine has a small shop oriented led spotlight that put out an impressive beam, so I figured if I could find one more hunter oriented I'd buy it. But before I do my own research I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone can recommend one to me. Only requirement is that its bright. I'd only spot deer and varmints so if i can change lens to a non disturbing green that would be awesome. Tia

Well my jack russels aren't much of coyote hunters, and if they did get on a yote I'd never be able to keep up... So far I have gone out with every fresh snow fall, oddly enough they must know I'm after them cause I haven't seen any fresh tracks ! I'm far from giving up though. Might head to franklinville this weekend with a borrowed fox pro.

Email sent. And thanks !
-
Thanks ! Good to see owners getting involved with the forums too. This was def the first mature buck I've had come in to any scent ever. I will be buying again next year ! Any room on the pro staff ? S&s told me hands down this was the love potion to get. I tend to listen to those guys.. Here's my story and pics. Once I get him back from the taxi I will be sure to hold up a bottle of A I and get some pics for your site !

Oh, I even went and got the hat and gloves this year since I was so pleased. Hat looks stupid but sure keeps my melon warm !

I was in the same boat as u, I went with all full suit from arctic shield. Basically same technology as the body bags, except you actually get a jacket and bibs vs a bulky akward bag. I did a review in the review of gear section. I just felt I got more for my money and didn't have to worry about emerging from a bag when the big guy strolled up..... I am always cold, like ill catch a chill when its 50 cold so warm gear was a must, and I def do not have the money to go spend hundreds on gear so I wanted to do it once ! I have been more than pleased with it and it has always kept me warm. Even my cheap father who used to wear the same camo and wool from the 60's went and bought the same suit... Beyond highly reccomend it !

I think I saw more suspicions pickups than deer this year ! Maybe his wife hit it and he went back to collect so he could tell his buddy's he shot it.... ? I've found 5 coyote killed deer so far since season started, and there is usually just a pile of bones and fur, but I'm no expert

Ur supposed to say happy holidays so you don't offend anyone, so merry Christmas !
-
Had a doe run across the field, cross the road and stop in the front yard.... Don't that figure ! Live from the couch, post season, ugh.
-
Well, as I told the girlfriend, she can now have her boyfriend back. I personally had a great season. Even though I saw 1/2 the normal amount of deer I blame that directly on the weather, which I think we can al agree on. Between my father and i we tied our record of 7 and just couldn't make anything happen the last few days. But, we both got wall hangers and I'm ok with that ! NOW, I have a serious coyote problem which i intend to solve. My only thing is I only know what I've read and seen on t.v., which isn't a lot when it comes to hunting smart predators. They have taken down a half dozen deer over the last year and i want that to stop. I know for a fact that 3 mature and 1 smaller coyote cruise the property everyday / night. If anyone that is knowledgeable and has the right equipment wants to come and show me how to put one down, come out to Boston and join me ! I'll buy the beer or coffee ! If not, I'll be relying on more traditional, redneck ways which haven't really produced any fur. I'm serious though, if u think u know your stuff, there's about 250 acres available to kill yotes. Send me message or reply on here !

Hang it from a tree in your front yard as a decoration..... ?
-
Silly question vet.... Never long enough !
-
Wny, what's the weight on big momma ? Actually bagged an ole girl last year I had named big ma, 137lbs hangin ! Oh, and def no change in deer habits since she's gone, if anything I've seen the same movement as last year

Yet another sighting..... Too bad somebody bumped him and he bolted @ 150 from my right to left, Damn tree was blowin too hard with the wind there was no way I was gonna take a bad shot. Dag gum ! Gonna sit in the a.m. behind the house, do a full stalk of my property then spend my last couple hours back at it for the big guy....never enough time in the season ! Sure hope something hits the ground tomorrow, gotta beat the record of 7 between me n dad.

It's late season so I'll clog up some forum space with a story.... This buck I missed... Well, I named him lucky. Bad decision. I came on him in shotgun season bedded when I had already gotten my buck, I called my dad who lived close, he came, we stalked to 175, he shot, he missed. I was in a stand a few days later and guess who walks under me, Yup, lucky. Ugh. So i have made the 45 min drive ALOT since muzzle opened and haven't seen anything but 1.5 yr olds. Last night a herd came running my way and stopped about 75 yrds, does, scrubs, a big guy with only his right beam, and finally I see lucky.... Locked on him, shot, he stood there for 15 seconds, then walked off with his pals. My father and i decided to change his name to DEAD, hoping it changes the odds. I'll be back in that stand, hoping this big guy shows himself yet again. I will NOT miss twice !
-
Well i know it wasn't me, no flinch, no trigger yank, no buck fever, I was locked on him.... I can count all my misses on 2 fingers, him being number 2. I'm gonna shoot a couple times today, if my groups are tight and center, then i get mad at me, not yet !
-
Joining the " I missed one " club..... Big buck, been hunting him hard for a week, I missed, gonna shoot the gun this a.m. just to be sure cause i know I was on him ! He just stood there.... Prob laughing. Back at it tonight
