I'm looking at boats online nonstop and I'm definitely getting some sort of fish on the wall this year or next. I have my oldest sons first fish on the wall a little bluegill.

I had my muzzleloader buck dipped this year. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.

One of my boys had a game on the east aurora rink this past sunday. He thought having an outdoor game was the coolest thing.

I asked my kids the other day if they would want me to buy a used tow behind camper or a boat all 3 kids and the wife said a boat. I'm doing some looking around at used boats now. Luckily my buddy is really good at rebuilding boat motors and any other kind of motor. He offered to look over any boats that I'll be interested in buying.

Luckily when we moved into our new house 2 years ago it already had a Generac house generator hooked up to the house. We closed on our house on a late Friday afternoon in the middle of December and moved in the next morning and couldn't get the power turned on until Monday and we moved in Saturday morning. That generator ran like a champ all weekend. I hunt an Urban area and a non Urban area. I'm successful at both locations. The biggest difference at the Urban spot is I hardly ever go a sit without seeing a deer almost always a doe. The deer there do spot you and smell you just like anywhere else that I hunt and when they do they take off just like any other deer. I have a few big mature bucks on camera in that location and I've only laid my eyes on a couple of them in the past 6-7 years. After October rolls around the bucks seem to disappear from this spot I don't see them anymore and don't get them on camera again until the next spring. There's not really any much of a food source in the woods over there so the deer spend a lot of time in the yards eating the bushes and plants. I think it's much easier for me to shoot a doe there than anywhere else but that's not because they are tame it's because there are so many of them there. For me the biggest downside to hunting the urban spot is all of the noise from the cars and leaf blowers. I'm a couple hundred yards away from any house but usually only 30-50 yards away from the thruway. You can't hear the the deer coming over the constant traffic but they usually can't hear me as well. I prefer hunting in the country but with the kids hockey schedules and dance I'm not always able to get out to the country. The home owners near my urban spot are very thankful for the deer that I do get out of there it's one less deer eating their shrubs.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any local areas that are already frozen over enough to take the kids ice fishing. Looking for some where that's less than a 30 minute drive for their first time out. With hockey practices and stuff we will most likely only have a couple hrs max to fish. One of these days I'll get them out to hardwood or case lake. Years ago I ice fished Dan Lake in East Amherst does anyone know if the ice there is thick enough yet? I'm located in Cheektowaga. That's exactly what made me think deer. The rear end is big and rounded. Also a closer look at the pic the upper 90% of the hide looks to be the same color/shade and the lower portion looks to be much lighter in color. In the pic the lighter color stays consistent from the belly all the way up to the throat. Making it look like a white belly and white throat. Also it has decent belly sag. I could be just seeing what I want to see.

Any lonesome dove fans? Me and my 11 year old are relaxing watching lonesome dove. While he's doing his online hunter safety course. I would much rather be sitting in a real class with him doing the course but it is nice knowing that it will be done. He wants to go and shoot some red squirrels on his bday.
