  1. if the stand isnt working out for you stalking can be real fun with the shot gun and if you have a few other buddys try some deer drives. a lot of people have problems with deer drives but the truth is you can have some fun doing them and also get deer.
  2. thank you everyone for the congrats. good luck everyone
  3. i do alot of hunting in the river bottoms and the ridges above the river bottoms some great action in these areas but man when you get a deer in the bottom you really need to be prepared for a hard drag but its all worth it the park really is a great place to hunt
  4. sunday october 30th 2011 8 point buck i shot in an old apple orchard out of my favorite stand the buck came into about 25 yards i just missed the spine double lung shot the broad head stuck in the opposite shoulder and the buck dropped right where i shot him. i got him in 8m near letchworth.
  5. i move and set up stands during bow season and some times hunt them the same day i hang them and have plenty of luck i even did it this past weekend sat in a new stand seen 8 deer in the morning 70 yards away after the morning i hunt i moved the stand closer to the action hunted it in the evening seen 2 doe and the next day a really nice 8pt just out of bow range. just do it quick and keep your scent down and bring your bow with you toull be suprised how many times a deer has walked up while setting up a stand.
  6. i hunt in the park also i love it there we usually stay in a cabin for opening weekend/week of shot gun for bow season we drive out each morning on the weekends. great buck four seasons
  7. four seasons very impressive buck.i also hunt in letchworth i seen a very nice 8pt in the park saturday morning but it was 55 yrads away a little to far for me. i connected on a nice 8pt for the evening hunt. some spots in the park are very hard to drag a deer out of especially in the river bottoms. congrats on a great deet

  11. i use a small 4"x6" fishing box that has seprate compartments that way i can have field points to practice with during lunch then a divider for extra broad heads and a divider for extra peep sights and string loops and i keep it in a bag with my extra clothes so that i always have it.
  12. 12 gauge mossberg 500 i love that gun but i bought a stoger 2000 a few months ago i wanted to try a semi auto shot gun since 99% of my shot gun season is deer drives.
  13. the computer was goofing up sorry it posted the same thing a few times
  14. i talked to the owner of northern white tail scents this morning she said it if i bought my doe in heat today it would still be good for the rut if i keep it in the fridge. since its only a 20mnute ride to her store im holding off until next friday to pick some up so that i can get mine as frsh as ossible befor the first week in november. i gathered up 3 other guys so we can get a gallon of doe in heat then we can each have a quart of it for $25 each. i cant wait the woods should start to get really good soon. one of my buddys shot a really impressive buck thismorning working a scrape line real big 8pt looks to be a mid 130s.
  15. a week ago i got a quart of intruder i might call up northern white tail scents tomorrow to put an order in for some doe in heat soon
