  1. I've been in the stand since 615 at 3pm I decided to shed one of my shirts. I undo the shoulder straps to my harness take one of my shirts off put my water bottle on the platform so I can make room in my bag for my shirt I look over and less than 15 yrds away are 2 big doe and a small buck. They came into 8-9 yrds and froze for almost 5 min then 1 doe starts feeding around the other is still trying to figure out what I am 10 more minutes of this before she tries to get behind me that's when I drew and double lunges her she went 40-50 yrds and tipped over. I'll leave her until dark maybe she'll draw the big buck in.
  2. I haven't seen anything since 745 still enjoying the squirrels and birds.
  3. Good luck to everyone that's hurting today. A few pics from this morning's sd card swap. This is my 3rd year having cans out here and first time getting a raccoon on camera. The 7pt is no slouch but the one I really would like to get is the big 8 in the pic with the coon. I've gotten close to 100 pics of him over the past few months
  4. Since I can't be in the woods this morning my consolation prize is watching Legends of the fall and reading the forum.
  5. If you go to sell it let me know I might be interested. What are you replacing it with if you don't mind me asking?
  6. Is it well balanced? Do you like it?
  7. In Cheektowaga over near Wolcotts. I'm at cabelas now they have the CVA LR it feels good but I don't need a muzzle loader with a 28-30" barrel.
  8. I love mu cva wolf have taken plenty of deer with it but have been interested in upgrading to the cva mountain rifle with the bergara barrel and cerakote/ nitrade finish. It's on back order everywhere locally. I want to handle the gun in person before I purchase it.
  9. Congrats to you and your son. Great job
  10. I wouldn't skip the morning hunt. Just enter slow and quiet and enter cautiously
  11. You're also entering and leaving your hunting spot at times that most hunters consider to be the best times to be in the woods. Usually most deer activity is the first couple hours after sunrise and the last hour or two before sunset. That last hour is the magic hour lol. Good luck
  12. I've been sitting since 6am and now at the start of magic time it has to start raining. I hope it passes over quick.
  13. No movement here for the past few hours. Perched up in a tree reading a book and enjoying the sun when it peaks out from behind the clouds.
  14. At 710 I had 2 doe come by at 15 yards. It's been quiet ever since then.
  15. Looks like a dog chasing a deer. Deer in the left hand corner of the pic black and grey dog with white legs behind it. I could be way wrong.
  16. I sat for 12 hrs today. I didn't see anything until just before 5pm when 3 doe came in and ate around under my stand for 5 minutes. I shot her at 9yrds. She piled up 50yrds behind my stand.
  17. Thank you very much. Honestly minus the rain it was it was a very nice and easy day for me to sit all day not to warm and not to cold. I might do another all day sit on Saturday.
  18. I sat for 12 hrs today. I didn't see anything until just before 5pm when 3 doe came in and ate around under my stand for 5 minutes. I shot her at 9yrds. She piled up 50yrds behind my stand.
  19. I'm to lazy to walk back to the truck and then back here again lol. If I would've left after a few hrs I would've ended up going to work or home to help with virtual learning. The all day sit won hands down. Honestly I started doing all day sits a couple years ago I don't mind them. I need to get a book for my next sit.
