  1. Right and the guide would have a rifle even if I was using a bow...exactly why I'll never do it. Leasing or owning land is not paying for a kill. My point is if you are willing to use guides and dogs don't trash talk the methods of fair chase hunters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'm not going to waste my time and document it but you are constantly trash talking anything that differs from your methods or opinions. I'm pretty sure this most recent thing is from an insinuation that "the guys out west laugh..." No one cares, especially coming from a guy who pays for his kills. Also I would only shoot a cat if it endangered my life...not interested in your type of hunting. Several black bear harvests in my family...3 just from my dad including an xbow harvest...fair chase big woods poconos, no guides no dogs no bait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I like to climb and sit in trees, Biz constantly trash talking people who use treestands prompted my pointing out that he shoots all of his trophies with babysitters and dogs. Come to think of it...most of what biz shoots has been run for miles and up a tree for him to finish off. Maybe that's why he doesn't want hunters up there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Doc, I enjoy about 99% of the members but your shit is constant and redundant and the typical haters are just as annoying. It's you I can't stand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Jealous how...you got nothing on me son. Balling. More than half your posts are attacks and beefs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I am so sick of every thread always turing into the exact same thing...doc opining and belo and biz hating away. Does anyone care to share any constructive and productive information on bow selection, jerky, DIY backstops, deer processing without it turning into doc repeating paragraphs about the sky falling and biz telling everyone they aren't a real hunter with fancy enough shit. it would just be great to stay on topic and maybe try an occasional thread that transmits positive and constructive info on hunting, not the same drek day in and out. 7. Way to go Alex p Keaton...you're a And you've been bs talking all day and night every chance you get you are a troll. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. First everyone knows how you feel about everything because you have compiled atleast a 12 volume encyclopedia of your opinion on every subject. Second no one gives a rats butt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I shot my first two bucks off the ground because I was/am afraid of heights...got over that because I prefer a good ambush and elevated position. Different strokes...but you claim to be "better-than" with everything you do when really you seem as mediocre as the rest of us...if anything just more willing to pay people to take you hunting and criticizing anyone who does it different. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Doc do you seriously think anyone is reading all that? Atleast break it ip into more digestible chunks. Go out and shoot your bow for an hour for gods sakes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. From all of your live from the stand reports and journal and fair chase harvest (or lack there of) reports it doesn't seem like your ground level techniques work very well unless you have some outfitter helping you out. I don't mind other methods, but comparing wide open west hunting with the difficulty of big or small woods whitetail hunting is a joke regardless of methods. Mule deer and elk are about as stupid as can be. I hunt in multiple states and just got back from a trans-alpine trip through Milan/Innsbruck/Munich...incase I needed some worldly creds. 12. I harvested 5 with my bow last season...I will gladly take much less $$$ to try to match the sharpshooters total. I agree a long bow season and the neighborhood informed and cooperative concerning the 150' rule will surely result in more than 22 deer taken. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Well done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Just have to be licensed by the state. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Right which is why the ones you saw were only $5000. The cost of the technology and manpower necessary to locate and pinpoint and track a specific target animal in any kind of terrain other than the plains would be astronomical. I think that's what the foil hats here are worried about. I said it twice so I'll say it again...a much much cheaper one ($800 and a gopro) could be an effective herd monitoring/land management tool. 16. Too true...Good thing the FAA is just one of several agencies looking into regulating these aircraft as we speak. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Maybe in Texas where they practically do that anyway but not here. Everyone just calm down the sky is not falling on every topic. You would need one or more of the most sophisticated drones in the $10,000 range with much more sophisticated cameras again $10,000 and up just for the cameras it would be super expensive and you would need someone full-time operating it since you wouldn't be able to program the deer's movements. There are no laws against it that I know of so I would think we would have heard by now if they were being used to hunt. Like I said, the notion of doing routine arial scouting surveillance or herd management surveillance for as little as $800 is interesting in terms of deer managemt on a property. 18. I think they are fine for scouting or assessing herd size...pretty sure you could drop $800-$50,000 right now and start your eye-in-the-sky survey today, no regs prohibiting. As far as hunting with them as real time surveillance that is certainly outside the realm of fair chase. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Actually Doc...last year I got my 5th archery harvest of the season on December 15, after I had passed the same 2 does with my ML the day prior. http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18500-2013-HNY-Bow-Hunting-Harvest-Thread/page__view__findpost__p__271577 Most of the guys I've seen whining about xbows or whatever are also guys I haven't seen very often in the bow harvest thread...hunters hunt, everyone else is just talking. I doubt I'll see even 1 or 2 new hunters in my area as a result of this and I hunt both public and private. Lots of land out there just find a piece with the kind of pressure you are comfortable with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Watch out...sky is falling again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Seems like a pretty fair compromise for now. I'm happy that my dad and grandfather and anyone else who cant draw a compound or prefers scope sights might be able to hunt during the archery season up here in New York. I also agree that anyone who thinks xbow = easy has never used a xbow. They are awkward, especially cocked and many people need a shooting rail or pod to maintain accuracy. I prefer my short ATA bow out of an open hang on any day. I still support the use of them and will applaud the legislature should it be approved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I got my number on mine...no excuse for not contacting me prior to entering the property for any reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Orange hard molded plastic cut out words. 1/25-50yds...within eyesight of each other. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I paid $1200 for a similar piece in 7j. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Very reasonable per/acre...I'm all set but you should make 9 guys pretty happy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
