  1. I would be targeting elk, moose, antelope, deer for the most part
  2. Thanks. I'm Westchester-flat ...so even at 5k feet there will probably be an adjustment to breathing.
  3. what would you say is the easiest state as a NY'er to hunt game without lotteries for tags. Does CO. still do well with over the counter tags ? anybody have good experience with other states ? thanks
  4. hey guys just wondering about hunters experiences out west with elevation sickness. please share your good or bad stories. Include the are of which state, what you were hunting , and how long you hunted and if you went out days before the hunt to acclimate. or took diamox. seems like below 6-7000 feet isnt too bad and can get worse from there. Thanks
  5. they offer so many styles, let us know which style you are looking at ? or what will you be using it for?
  6. Hey guys, i am looking for new rifle 3-9x40 scope for mostly deer hunting. I need eye relief close to 4" since my 30.06 does kick a bit and current bushnell is pretty old and i have to get my eyes too close. Other than reading the scope company's websites & optics reviews of each , can you let me know what your own field experience has been? that sometimes goes further than what the company specs state on a spec sheet.. leaning toward Leupold VXII price range less than 300..any thoughts ? thanks

    So I'm....

    columbus weekend
  8. thanks uncle nicky thats what im aiming for in the Lake Okeechobee area maybe while doing turkey or gator hunt during same time. also good to know the meat was good. sometimes i get a little skeptic about these feral hogs and what they may be carrying for disease or parasite.
  9. yah there are some local outfitters around lake okechobee that will take you out on big swamp buggies also. florida flights are relatively cheap, kill a hog or 2 in a weeknd but then guess gotta overnight the meat back. Probably similar costs to going to a preserve and shooting a larger boar somewhere here in the northeast.. Im just looking for some meat and the experience of it . Thanks
  10. bolt action all the way. for deer anything .270 or bigger..scope is just as important dont skimp on quality. good luck
  11. the lard/crisco could def be the issue. Adkbuck's routine should be good... olive oil is the way to go
  12. any you guys ever head to FLA to hunt those wild pigs?? just wondering how the experience was like. Thanks for your feedback
  13. 30.06 remington 700 year after year
  14. how crowded are the woods in the westchester public (WMA's, state forests) bow/deer hunting areas? I can picture tree stands being put up close to each other and being a bit busy.. any feedback is appreciated.
  15. Hey Dom try salting the pieces for awhile then rinse and continue with breading and frying. read it somewhere online awhile back and seemd to work. or maybe slice thinner pieces so its not in the oil as long.
