Online Travel Services? Good/Bad Experiences?

travelocity and hotels.com , havent had a problem yet -
If you decide to buy a box call, The Primos Box Cutter is worth all $25 on the price tag. Get in position early, cover yourself in camo and dont move except to pull trigger. If you can go out with others your first year, that would help. Watch videos online or tv shows. good luck

New Mexico & AZ have great animals its just tough to get the tag and prices seem to be a bit higher as a result. Ck out CO, WY, and Utah. check the state's game/wildlife websites to get familiar with tag process and costs and dates of each. then spend a lot of time reading outfitter websites and reviews. Make contact with a bunch of them and see what they are all about.

yes, PA does have a lottery. was like $10 for extreme slim odds but why not play the lottery! lottery is late, think it was in Sept...65 chosen out of 18k entries

CO is very hunter friendly for elk. call the game dept, they can answer all questions and will mail you a nice pack of info depending on what you are looking for. Most buffalo is done on large ranches in a bunch of western states. they seem to be in similar price range as elk depending on size/age. take time now to get familiar with prices and tag requirements so you are ready for 2013 if thats when you want to go.

didnt say much. Pretty much pinned in on Biden to help work out some options for a plan to put in place in January sometime.
-
I gave it to someone who has eaten it before and is familiar with ways to cook it. But yah otherwise, its best to invite them over and prepare it correctly yourself.
-
Which cuts of meat do you choose to gift to someone? in this case it is a friend of a co-worker/good friend. Just wanted to offer a smaller pack of maybe some steak meat. The straps & loin I usually only share with family or when I have people visit. But just a friendly offering, figured I'd see what others have think. Dont want to give away the best and dont want to give away to lower cuts either.
-
its not always about the headgear, Congrats!
-
Great bear, gonna be a nice rug !
-
thats one animal I would not rush to hunt for the meat. fatty & more gamey than deer, elk, moose..though maybe the tenderloins done right could pass.
-
" i agree it wasnt safe but still give him a break.............." sorry but I cant! Safety first. live by that. Also, Know the animal you are hunting or any that you may come accross this time of year. By that, I mean know the bear anatomy like you know deer anatomy and shot placement. Know how they may react to be shot, where do they head into bedding area? or up a tree? ...Just firing off rounds does NO good for the animal or in case a nearby family member or any other hunter. Dark out? Gun going "click" ? Where's my cousin positioned? man too much to go into

Gotta be a beaver with that tail dragging. 50-60 lb isnt unheard of and they can reach 100 lbs tho rare.
-
sounds right for Southern zone, the DEC site has how it calculated each yr

Get back at it ! Something will work out for you

Chefhunter, what distance was the shot?

yah i, find the adrenaline rush from ground blind hunting to be quite intense. Thats not to say that the heart doesnt get a good beating when in a stand and things come together!
-
ok plenty of decent scopes $150-200 mentioned on other threads as well as $500 bolt action rifles. Thats a common price point for all the manufacturers and this time of year I've seen a bunch of sale/promotions/rebates in my local Dick's stores
-
haa didnt want to make the assumption you we can aim high $$ -it cant hurt. Worse case scenario, you gotta come down a bit in the price point. Better to overshoot on this one!

270, 308, 30-06 all work. What is the budget for rifle and or scope ?

200 days from today is May 31, 2013 . Since most are born last week of May and into June, that pretty much puts us in the thick of now for the next 7-10 days no matter how bad the sightings are in your area. Its happening whether we see it or not, Good luck to all this weekend!
