    Jawbone Aging

Going by charts im thinking 3.5. was just curious if anyone else that had experience agreed.
  3. Can anyone give their guess on an age? Im not the best at jawbone aging.
  4. My brother took this guy at 420 opening day
  5. I highly recommend these. This is like having a muff on both hands. Its nice to be able to move your arms without being handcuffed to your muff. They easily slip off for a shot. Even when wet they are warm. You could also treat them as they are leather.
  6. 15# of venison polish sausage. Going in smoker. Brother is smoking it for me, I have yet to dabble in that.
  7. Thought id be only one to see a turtle from my stand. I saw this guy on November 10. It took him from 215 to 440 to crawl 20 yards to creek. That was all i saw that evening sit, but it kept me entertained.
  8. Lol a taxi! I gotta ask what did the cab fare cost? What if u stick one? Im sure it will fit in trunk.
  9. Was looking for horns but since its my birthday and never shot one on my birthday my finger got itchy. There was a deer behind her I never saw, all i saw was tail as it ran off after shot. I actually was bumming for not waiting then this deer heart sandwich with spinich, garlic, melted cheese, fresh farm egg made me feel better.
  10. Saw a great wide buck around noon cruising. Buddy saw an even bigger buck chasing a doe. My brother missed an 8. They were definatley on their feet even with this wind.
  11. Just saw a doe and fawn cross a field right through foodplot about 170yds. A tad out of my personal comfort zone.
  12. getting pretty windy here can't wait to see what it's like 2pm during advisory. going to move mid day to a spot i call the bowl. very little wind even when it's bad.
  13. wow cant believe i found a spot on the property with service. all day sit. one doe at 35 yards looking at me as i was just sitting down. nice and chilly good luck everyone
  14. big day yesterday. only saw a couple squirrels but one of my most memorable hunts ever. Her first hunt shes 3. Stuck it out from 315 to dark at 454. Tons of fun, she told me i moved too much and scarred the deer.
  15. Big thanks to Lawdwaz for lending me a book from his library. Great to have local resources. Once finished its off to grampy.
  16. Pics look good. Fortunately the best hunting is yet to come. Maybe u should get an atomic fireball vending machine for the blind?
  17. I have a pair of lacrosse that I coated with some industrial clear silicone. Doesnt leak after two years.
  18. My favorite is the 8th picture with the 6point. Hes wearing a tie and the deer doesn't look gutted yet. Theres got to be a story there?
  19. Ill check them out. Hal Blood book was given to me by someone years ago. Probably would of never bought it as I have never hunted the big woods, but like I said it was a great read listening about chasing 300# Whitetails.
  20. Looking to extend my library and learn a few things. What is everyone's favorite hunting book? Doesnt have to be whitetails. Strategies for Whitetails: Charles Alzheimer. Kinda basic info but the photography and colored print is amazing. Even better most of the research from the book is based in NY. Hunting Big Woods Bucks: Hal Blood. Although this book doesn't apply to most of my hunting it was a great read. I did learn a great deal on tracking and deer behavior, but the way Blood wrote this made me want to hit up the Dacks in some fresh snow.
  21. Great looking gsp. Lol i remeber as a kid my dad getting one for us for xmas. Almost cost him his marriage(He forgot to inform mom). That dog was a terrible pet, but a hunting machine. Lol that beagle picture.
