Doc, there is a big difference between saying the government is not your friend, and saying it is your enemy. I don't believe I ever said that. If you do not see the substance in that post, you are really not very intelligent. What conservatives are trying to accomplish in America is a return to lawful governance. That's not whining, that's imperative! And the average voter has to be aware who will do that when elected, and who won't. Those who vote for the wrong people are morons, and that is more than 50% of the uninformed, oblivious voters these days. It's not a hatred of our system of government that I have, it's a hatred of this current corrupt administration of government that is claiming to be representing our best interests while destroying the very foundation our freedom rests on. Your response is typical of Leftists who try to minimize, demonize, or misinterpret, any thought of calling out the government's lawlessness by attacking the speaker as radical, or worse. None of your insinuations are accurate, and I believe you know it. You may not think of yourself as a Leftist, but they think of you as one of their useful idiots.

It is a logical question, but your assumptions are far from logical. Our friends are the patriots in America who understand the Rule of Law and support and defend the US Constitution. Doesn't matter what they do for a living, or what party they belong to. But the reality of the situation is that a certain party is ignoring both of those things and trying to enslave all US citizens with total control of every aspect of their lives. When they are in control of the government, it is not your friend. The other party is guilty of not correcting the situation with the tools provided in the Constitution to correct it. Pal around with terrorists? Are you serious? That's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard when it comes to getting our government under control and stopping it's rogue run towards tyranny. Trust wackos? Have you no clue how this government was set up and how it is supposed to run. There are 3 branches of government. Legislative, judicial and executive. The Constitution sets limits on each of these branches and sets checks and balances between them so no one branch can corrupt the liberty of the citizens by assuming too much power. Our government is supposed to be filled with elected officials that represent the will of the people. They represent us! They work for us! That is not the case today. This current government is not your friend because it is ignoring the Constitution, and all of the protections in it, that would prevent all of what is happening today. Our Federal government was meant to be limited, and it sure as hell has no authority to spend taxpayer money on most of the things it does to buy votes from people who are dependent on it. The founding fathers expected this would happen one day, and put articles in the Constitution that would allow the people to correct the situation. Those remedies are not being used and politics are ruining our freedom and liberties. The electorate in America is full of complacent morons who have no clue what our government is supposed to be, how it should work legally, how it can be restrained if it doesn't, nor what their role in it is. We have the government we have because it has been working on dumbing down the electorate for decades and it has succeeded! It lies to the people and misdirects their attention from scandals and disasters looming on the horizon when it has it's own interest's at stake. George Orwell's 1984 was never supposed to happen for real. But even though it showed us what could happen, we let it happen anyway. The mass media has become a tool of the Left and no longer reports anything to the people that would be a threat to Leftists controlling the government. We are now seeing people being persecuted by the government for even saying something that isn't politically correct. That's thought control. Sadly, when we do have leaders arise that speak the truth to the people, and champion Liberty, the Rule of Law and the Constitution, they are attacked with lies by those who's power is threatened by the truth, and the majority of the idiot electorate rallies behind them. We get the kind of government we deserve because of them. If you do not see how the government we have now is not your friend, you cannot help restrain it. You may be suspicious, but you are far from intelligent.

Espressobuzz, you don't realize the government, and it's minions, are feeding you a lot of propaganda. Why do I say that? Because Reagan took office as President on January 20.1981. Also, corporations are nothing more than businesses owned by their stockholders. The stockholders decide what a CEO gets paid as well as everything the corporation does. They do that to control the value of the stocks they have invested in. Technology is what killed unions. Labor priced itself out of existence by asking wages, benefits and pensions higher than the cost of getting robots to do their jobs. They didn't notice their extortion rackets were no longer viable in the last decade of the 20th century and found themselves standing outside looking in. The government had nothing to do with the demise of unions. In fact the Democrats did everything they could, at taxpayer expense, to prop up unions and save their votes. The unions did it all to themselves. Their greed was more important than their members. On the other hand, the government did raise taxes on everything it possibly could, and severely burdened the working class with property, excise and sales taxes. Plus, it devalued the dollar after going off the gold standard and began printing money for spending that had nothing to back it up. That forced the price of everything in the working class market to skyrocket. Consequently two income households, which used to be a luxury for folks with no children or the means to pay for childcare, became a must for survival. The government is NOT your friend! You better start to realize that, rather than believing the people it tells you to hate are your enemies.

In 41 years of driving I've never hit one. Had some real close calls with them. Almost hit a big coyote once too. But I've never hit one. Hope I haven't just jinked myself here.

When I went to a laptop about 3 years ago, I got a Samsung. It does everything I need it to do and has never had an issue. I think it was about $350 and has a 15" screen. I like Best Buy stores for good selection and price.

The .444 will not damage meat as much as a .300 WM because it's a slow moving bullet. Hit a deer in the shoulder with a 165 gr .30 caliber bullet moving at 3000 fps and you are going to see a huge section of blood shot meat. Hydrostatic shock is very high in a deer's muscle tissue when it is hit by a high velocity bullet. Even if you hit only the ribs and not the shoulder, you may still see a lot of blood shot meat on the whole shoulder. At 50 yards, with a 3x9 power scope set on 3x, the neck is still a big target. Your option of course, but this is my experience with high velocity rounds, even the .243 high velocity rounds, when used at close range. BTW, the matte finish metal is far better for a hunting rifle as glare from shiny metal will spook deer fast.

You lose all of the shoulder with that shot at close range.

Nothing wrong with it. But if a deer is closer than 50 yards, you might want to take a neck shot to avoid losing a lot of meat.

I do. Thank you. Now I see you think those issues are actually embraced by Democrats and not by the other parties. Many of my pro union friends have come to hate Democrats because they have proven to talk a good game about supporting unions, while taking advantage of them behind their backs. Much as they do for all the other issues you mention. No matter how you slice it, the Democrats are still the party that lies the most, hates guns, hates the 2nd Amendment, hates gun owners and ignores the US Constitution, in a lot of cases, to subvert the actual causes you cited in that post. Ever stop to think how they will implement their hope and change after all Americans have been disarmed? And don't tell me they don't hope to eventually do it. Some of them have already said they hope to. That one issue is a good one to use as a litmus test when you vote. Oh and did I forget to mention they love taxes. The higher the better.

I'm curious Sogaard, what issue would compel you to ever vote for a Democrat? Seems to me their whole party platform is subversive and geared towards Socialism. Unless it's a desire to protect abortion (which promiscuous men seem to desire) or personal patronage from local officials who are corrupt. But that would be like selling your soul for personal gain in my opinion. Why would you vote for a Democrat when you know they will attack your gun rights? Enlighten me, please.

The government has done a great job, over the last couple of decades, making life so busy for the masses, with both parents needing to work to just get by, that the average citizen doesn't have time to pay attention to the insidious encroachment on their liberties by the government. That is something that works in the governments favor, so they have done nothing to stop it from progressing every year. Higher taxes, more debt, more overtime, less time to be grassroots. See how that works? We are becoming slaves and don't seem to realize it. BTW, slaves cannot be armed. Too dangerous for the masters.

Actually, they're targeting everyone who owns guns. The law will allow ANYONE to call the cops and claim you are a threat to society, like a wife who lies to get a restraining order on her husband to get him thrown out of the house, and ALL of your guns will be taken from you without due process. That's a real problem. It is ripe for abuse by anti-gun organizations who could just get a list of gun owners and systematically call the cops on each one of them. The gun owner wouldn't even know it was going on until SWAT kicks his door in. Go back and read the article a little more closely and you will see what I mean.
