Spent Case Included With New Pistol?
raymerlo replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Your pistol may be new in the box,but has been the store for a while, ladwadz is right cobis is no longer, now we have the safe act to contend with -
The New York State Conservation Council urges your participation in the Gun Rights Rally and Lobby Day to be held in the Well of the Legislative Office Building in Albany on Thursday, February 28, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The theme of the Rally is "The NY SAFE Act Must Go!!" Organized by the NYS Rifle & Pistol Association with cooperation from the Shooters Committee On Political Education, this is an opportunity for you to join with other sportsmen/women to let Governor Cuomo and state legislators know of your strong opposition to the recently-passed NY Secure Ammunition and Firearms Act. If you are gun owner, you need to be in Albany on February 28. According to SCOPE, "We are being called to Albany on February 28th to make our voices heard as one united coalition. The Governor's SAFE Act does nothing to keep anyone safe. It does put onerous and restrictive regulations on law abiding, tax paying citizens [who] are being singled out by a small minority with an agenda that can only be labeled as dubious." The NYSR&PA says this is a day to lobby the state legislature on gun rights. It recommends that you call your Assembly Member and State Senator to make an appointment to meet with them in their offices on the 28th after the conclusion of the Rally at 12:30 p.m. Go to the home pages for the NYS legislature, www.nysenate.gov and http://assembly.state.ny.us, where you can find your legislators by entering your home address and/or zip code. It would be a good idea to make an appointment with a legislator who is not from your home district … deliver your message to the downstate/ metropolitan legislators as well. The February issue of NYSCC's Grass Roots News contained several articles concerning the gun control issue that can serve as reference for talking points; be sure to refer to the newsletter for ideas. Don't forget the ladies and youth! Bring them along if you can; show the legislators that there's more to this issue than a bunch of hunters in jeans and flannel shirts. Youngsters and women like to shoot, too – it's a family pastime enjoyed by many! There are several public and private transportation options to get to Albany: Several groups are putting together buses to Albany: From Long Island: the Sportsmen's Association for Firearms Education, contact John Cushman 631/475-8125 From Ulster County: the Federated Sportsmen's Clubs of Ulster County, contact Elmer LeSuer 845/340-7404 From Erie County: the Erie County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, contact Rich Davenport 716/510-7952 From Utica/Mohawk Valley: contact Peg Roberts 315/941-6360 From Central NY: the Oswego and Onondaga County Sportsmen's Federations, contact Rick McDermott 315/882-1540 Check www.nysrpa.org and www.scopeny.org for additional areas that may be chartering buses for the trip to Albany. Amtrak to Albany: Take the train to the Albany-Rensselaer (ALB) station. From there either take a private taxi or CDTA bus to the Empire State Plaza. Driving to Albany: Parking is available under the Empire State Plaza. Cost is $2/hour and paid with a credit card. To get to the ESP take 1-787 to the South Mall Arterial exit. After parking take the elevator to the concourse level. The Legislative Office Building is accessible from there. Food and restrooms are available on the concourse level as well. Remember to check your pockets before your lock your car and leave behind anything that might be construed to be a weapon; you will be asked to dispose of pocket knives, tools, scissors, etc. as you pass through security. Be respectful with your message and your attire; wear business casual dress; no camo. A neat shirt and slacks, with or without a jacket, will send the message that you should be taken seriously.

Really rather disappointed with vendors @ NY Expo
raymerlo replied to phade's topic in General Chit Chat
Now if all the vendors that took a hit would write there representatives and complain about it maybe there would be a change next year instead of bad mouthing the vendors that did take a stand and made a statement about this BS -
i guess we can't be trusted with a slingshot, and you want to keep ar's,we definitely elect knuckle heads in to office,we are allowing ourselves to be legislated out of our sport

Gun Owner Rally
raymerlo replied to raymerlo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
FYI...Big Al's Gun Shows - New York - (914)-760-3026 HAS SHUT HIS SHOWS -
THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!!! ... Be certain to read the link about Tailoring the Military ... This is your chance to show your opposition to the most unAmerican Cuomo Gun Bill ... Sr. TAKE OUT YOUR PEN AND MAKE A CALENDAR NOTE TODAY! MAKE A DIFFERENCE! MAKE A DIFFERENCE! MAKE A DIFFERENCE! BE THERE OR, IF YOU REALLY AND TRULY CANNOT, AT LEAST SPREAD THE WORD TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND OTHERS WHO CAN. FEBRUARY 28, 2013 ~ ALBANY/LOB ~ 10:30 A.M. TO 12:30 P.M. Anyone can have an excuse to not participate: it comes with the territory of letting others secure your benefits for you while asserting that "...and no one can take it away." BUT RIGHT NOW those "no one" folks are trying to do just that and making a difference that shall take those things that you do and love and rely upon away. Away! Why not spend a little gas money and parking money, drive down to the State Capitol/Empire State Plaza, then from 787 find the VISITOR PARKING lot underground, drive in with your photo ID in hand (the State Trooper will ask for it), find a place to park, take the nearest elevator to the C-Level (for Concourse), walk toward the State Capitol, pass through security -- no knives, guns, and the like so leave them in your car -- and turn LEFT into the area known as "The Well" of the Legislative Office Building (known as the LOB), and find your selves among hundreds and (may we hope) thousands of fellow gun owners for this NYSRPA-sponsored Lobby Day and Rally? YOU do have the time for it if you value your Second Amendment rights -- and if you find yourself responding to that by answering "...but I don't own any of those guns or magazines!" then KNOW THIS, my innocent friend: you are suffering from deep denial. What is not named today will be named tomorrow if this attempt to take what some have away from them, they will soon leave you with nothing but your single shot .22 cal. rifle, and then soon enough take that as well. Creeping socialism is little different than sudden and complete exacting socialism such as Adolph Hitler exercized against the Jews of Germany when he was but Chancellor before he became dictator of Germany and introduced the world to the horrors of the concentration camps. [Doubt that? Take a look at THIS: http://godfatherpoli...llow-americans/]. Or will nothing convince you that YOU are in deep trouble? AND that you DO have skin in this game? You do.

raymerlo replied to huntersponrun's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
looks like the good old days, did you get those rabbits east of the hudson,if so the DEC is looking for heads for a new england rabbit survey, this is in case you don't know about it, -
all this is well intentioned but the local school boards run the show, unless there are a lot of hunting, shooting, fishing &trapping minded people there will be no blood sportsallowed, some schools have these type of activity's,they are done as elective after school projects and tought by volunteers, support from DEC is given but on a limited basis, remember in some schools the kid just points their finger or draw a picture of a gun and they are suspended

state stocks every couple of weeks, maybe clubs still stock quail & pheasant, have not been there lately
-
Lets get some thing straight, the state stocks before and during the season,we all have the same allotment, the Putnam County Federation of Sportsman Clubs have a budget to purchase birds, the people that stock are volunteers and give their time,we have youngsters involved and we stock when we think that the time and weather is right, also for your info we stock over 600 birds at the three locations, and it is not funny when pellets are flying and on top of that stocking dates get leaked out and they are waiting for the birds,

For those of you that have been missing for a while, the Great Swamp WMA is a fairly new property located on Cornwall Hill Rd. in the town of Patterson, coming in from rte 311 it be on your left after you pass the town garage and cross the RR tracks,if you are going to hunt make sure you stay away from the house on the right, the bird houses are the 500 ft markers
-
No problem,if you are going north on rte 22,make a right at the Putnam Diner the property will be on your left after you pass East Branch Rd,as you drive east it will be on your left, kind of behind the nursery,it is not yet marked so do no not start walking around,it's kind of steep but it is like steps, the dept will be marking it soon weather permitting, good deer area,it makes Cranberry Mt WMA about 700 plus acres, the dept.will be making a parking area and mark the boundry's

Any body use a .45 colt out of a S&W 25 5 or similar hand gun, what kind of bullet weights, what kind of results
-
Swim in a chlorine pool or go to the ocean and spend some time in the water, alchol and bleach will help but the issues that come with that are pretty stiff
-
We are having a problem when we stock pheasants especially on state lands, why can't the sports wait till the people who are stocking leave before they go out and start hunting the birds and give them a chance to recover from being in a stocking crate, also a safety issue when there is pellets flying,we have young teens helping us and what an example you are setting, the state people are resorting to law enforcement while they stock,we are supposed to be sportsman, is a pheasant worth that much that they make jerks of them selves, and may be get a citation besides or some one a face full of bird shot or worse
