Crime is on the rise and all these Democrats can think to do is go after responsible gun owners. Why a database of lawful gun purchases? Criminals are not included in that info. Federal law explicitly prohibits the creation of a federal firearm registry, but the Biden administration is making one anyway. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has collected nearly one billion firearm purchase records. The government has now created a searchable digital database containing 866 million of these transactions, including some 54 million made in 2021 alone. This massive data collection effort encompasses information on all guns sold by licensed gun dealers, and on all legal gun transfers in states with so-called universal background checks. So, federal officials will know everyone who legally obtained a gun. Now, President Biden wants to make universal background checks nationwide so that he can have an even more complete registration list. According to a Rasmussen Reports Survey, Democrats support the idea by 2-1 ratio, while Republicans oppose it by a similar margin. Two-thirds of Republicans believe the policy will lead to gun confiscation, and even 40% of Democrats believe the same. Confiscating legally owned firearms, it seems, is not merely a right-wing conspiracy theory. Similarly, a recent Gallup poll shows that 40% of Democrats want a complete ban on civilian ownership of handguns. Countries such as Canada, the U.K., and Australia aren’t the only ones to use registration to ban and confiscate guns. California, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. have also used registration to know who legally owned different types of guns before banning them. https://crimeresearch.org/2022/02/at-real-clear-politics-democrats-pushing-gun-registry-as-precursor-to-gun-ban/

The real issue is interest on all that debt, and what it means for the federal fisc. The debt costs very little when interest rates are near-zero. But when they rise, as they soon will, the burden of interest costs on the debt rises too. By one measure every percentage point increase in rates adds $100 billion a year or more to debt costs. That must be financed either with higher taxes or more debt.
-
Actually at this time the interest on the debt is very low, but with inflation on the rise, interest on the debt will climb. Currently the US manages to pay the interest on the debt, but nothing towards the principle. If interest rates climb above 2% the US may not even be able to keep up with the interest payment. That's when things start to fall apart. People seem to have no idea what a total economic collapse would be like. Look into it.

Statehouses ‘Need to Leave Management Decisions to the Experts’ as Anti-Hunting Bills Intensify This is Part 1 of a two-part series that looks at how wildlife is managed on a state level, as well as the ramifications of management vis-à-vis law-making that isn’t based on science. https://projectupland.com/hunting-policy/why-state-legislatures-should-not-determine-game-management/?fbclid=IwAR2PlEeN822fUQMBU23O7iSHYxJceE8PEhI9IrENSqpAQfYl2yi2NmXr5DU

Buying a shotgun in Jersey
Grouse replied to virgil's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Last time I was in a NJ gun store, I was told I'm not even allowed to handle a firearm in a NJ gun store. A friend from Long Island went through the process of getting a NJ Firearms ID Card so he could buy a gun in NJ. That is what I believe the state requires of non-residents. Personally, I would have the store ship the gun to my FFL in NY and pick it up there. -
The Constitution has built into it the method required for change, and it works well. That doesn't mean the Constitution is being changed, it means it is changing according to it's approved amendment process. An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification. That insures the citizens of America want the change and their representatives agree to it. The problem arises when activist judges at the Federal level "interpret" the Constitution to mean something other than what it says. Those changes are not approved according to the method the Constitution provides. That has become the preferred method of change for leftists who are always looking for "work arounds" regarding the limits imposed on the government by the document itself. These changes are not Constitutional and should be considered void by the citizens. But the government will apply force to their unconstitutional laws, to strike fear in the citizens who refuse to comply with these unconstitutional changes. The 10th Amendment is the most violated Amendment today, as the Federal government is appropriating many powers the Constitution says belong to the states and the states alone. The 2nd Amendment is the 2nd most violated Amendment, followed by 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments. When Biden says the document is "constantly changing", he's not referring to the Constitutional Amendment process the document calls for. He's advocating for more of the activist change.

The US Constitution has worked very well in practice for hundreds of years. Greed of people will screw up good things. That's why leftists and Democrats claim it needs to be abolished.

AOC, Now an Economics Expert

The old adage continues to prove it's truth. "If Leftists understood economics, they would not be Leftists" Also: "Things will be ruined, others will be blamed" -
Who should vote? How should they vote? The founders wrestled with these questions. They wondered about the rights of minorities. In their day, that meant worrying if the rights of property owners would be overrun by the votes of those who did not own land. James Madison described the problem this way: The right of suffrage is a fundamental Article in Republican Constitutions. The regulation of it is, at the same time, a task of peculiar delicacy. Allow the right [to vote] exclusively to property [owners], and the rights of persons may be oppressed... . Extend it equally to all, and the rights of property [owners] ...may be overruled by a majority without property.... Eventually, the framers of the Constitution left details of voting to the states. In Article I Section 4, the Constitution says: The times, places and manner of holding elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by law make or alter such regulations. Unfortunately, leaving election control to individual states led to unfair voting practices in the U.S. At first, white men with property were the only Americans routinely permitted to vote. President Andrew Jackson, champion of frontiersmen, helped advance the political rights of those who did not own property. By about 1860, most white men without property were enfranchised. But African Americans, women, Native Americans, non-English speakers, and citizens between the ages of 18 and 21 had to fight for the right to vote in this country. The US Constitution did NOT address the right to vote until the 15th Amendment was debated and ratified. It was the US Constitution itself that provided the evidence that supported the right to vote for all citizens of the US. In 1870 the 15th Amendment was ratified, which provided specifically that the right to vote shall not be denied or abridged on the basis of race, color or previous condition of servitude.

I rest my case. Besides, I'm not speaking about myself there. I'm speaking about everything the left tries to prevent from being heard. I couldn't care less what you, or the "most" you have decided you have the right to speak for, think about me. Your insignificance to me is unlimited. The point being made here is the left phrases things in a way the clueless will accept, no matter how dangerous the policy will be. That sums up the leftist supporters in America perfectly.

For your information, it was the US Constitution that was used to give them the right to vote. Their rights were being violated by Democrats until it was challenged in the Supreme Court. The US Constitution is the greatest legal government document in the history of the world. It's the politicians that are voted into office that are the problem.

We should be more worried about a total economic collapse than anything else the government tells us to worry about right now. The U.S. national debt topped $30 trillion Tuesday, the highest it's ever been, according to Treasury Department data. National debt grew significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing by $7 trillion since the end of 2019. Almost $8 trillion of the total $30 trillion in national debt is owed to foreign investors, with Japan and China the top creditors, which must be repaid with interest. “That means American taxpayers will be paying for the retirement of the people in China and Japan, who are our creditors,” David Kelly, chief global strategist at JPMorgan Asset Management, explained to CNN Business. More than $6 trillion of the national debt is owed by the U.S. government to itself through government trust funds. Debt has skyrocketed in past decades, beginning with the Great Recession of 2008 and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The national debt was $9.2 trillion in December 2007, before the financial crisis of 2008. “Hitting the $30 trillion mark is clearly an important milestone in our dangerous fiscal trajectory,” Michael Peterson, head of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, told The New York Times. "For many years before Covid, America had an unsustainable structural fiscal path because the programs we’ve designed are not sufficiently funded by the revenue we take in," he added.

Just to correct a myth leftists are pushing at this time, Conservatives are not saying the don't want a black woman on the Supreme Court. They would be perfectly happy to see Condoleeza Rice, Winsome Sears, Alveda King or any other black woman who reveres the Rule of Law and is a Constitutional literalist. It's not about sex or race. It's about not putting a political activist in a position to make law, rather then rule on a law's Constitutionality.

These kids are the future of America?

Did you beg and plead with them like a pussy? If so you have no worries. If you told them you were going to see to it they don't get re-elected, you may have a problem. -

For Democrats, the major qualification for this position, is the candidate that will buy them the most votes. In 2003, President George W. Bush nominated Janice Rogers Brown to serve on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, which is widely considered the nation’s second most important court and a training ground for future Supreme Court justices. At the time, Brown was a justice on the California Supreme Court. She was known for her conservative judicial opinions against affirmation action and in favor of parental consent for abortion. But rather than embrace Brown’s appointment to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, Democrats were united in opposition. Democrats, including then-Senators Joe Biden and Barack Obama, repeatedly filibustered Brown’s confirmation. Yes — filibustered! The procedure that Biden today calls a relic of the Jim Crow era was used by Biden to destroy a black female nominee. President Bush renominated Brown, and she was eventually confirmed in 2005 after a bipartisan agreement. But Democrats did their best to block her confirmation because the left feared she could have been the first black woman appointed to the Supreme Court, and they did everything they could to destroy her. Biden voted against her three times. Had she been confirmed in 2003, the odds are overwhelming that we would have had a black woman on the Supreme Court 17 years ago when Justice Sandra Day O'Connor retired. But the left isn’t really concerned about black women. They want leftists on the Supreme Court who will continue to remake America. The most important “qualification” Biden has for his Supreme Court nominee is not merit, skin color or gender. The most important qualification is that she is committed to the left’s agenda, and will ignore the Constitution in order to impose the left’s values on America.
