Political humor
Grouse replied to Water Rat's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
To those with no sense of humor. LOL! -
Nothing in the price of gas is figured in percentage. It's all dollars, cents, cost and price and it's based on whole numbers not percentages. Even the state gas tax is a whole number, not a percentage of the price.

I don't believe those poll numbers anymore than the one's that said Hillary would get 80% of the votes in 2016. I think the real number is about 10% and most are working in media or working in government jobs created by Democrats.

The profit on a gallon of gas for the refineries and the retailer remains the same no matter what the price. Cost goes up, price goes up. Competition keeps the price and the profit inline. The government makes the most money on every gallon of gas with the tax they add to each gallon. NY gets 46 cents per gallon in taxes. The refineries and retailer get less than half that. Current gas prices are skyrocketing due to the current administration's supply restrictions. When they try to tell you someone else is ripping you off, they are lying to you. The same applies to any other price increase you are being forced to pay for anything else you buy. If you don't understand economics, which leftists don't, you will always be easily manipulated by the government's lies about who is screwing you.

"It's safe to say this is the worst first year of a presidency in modern history. We've seen our energy industry attacked, our medical freedom infringed upon, and our standing on the world stage diminished. Biden began his administration with an assault on the American energy industry by shutting down pipelines and banning drilling on federal lands and waters, threatening millions of jobs nationwide and hundreds of thousands in my home state of Texas. Biden created the worst border crisis in decades when he rolled back Trump's border security policies. ... Inflation surged to 6.8% in 2021, an invisible tax on Americans that's forcing people to pay more for everyday goods. Meanwhile, Biden's first year in office erased 3 years of real wage growth for American families. Instead of addressing rising crime across the country, Joe Biden's FBI decided to target parents who are rightly concerned about what their kids are learning in school. Biden is directly responsible for the disastrous withdrawal in Afghanistan that led to the deaths of 13 Americans and countless allies. Biden's feckless foreign policy has emboldened authoritarians like Putin and Xi Jinping. In an assault on basic medical freedom and personal choice, Biden imposed an unconstitutional vaccine mandate on businesses and healthcare workers, forcing people to choose between their jobs or the vaccine. Biden pushed the most damaging legislation in American history that would have killed American energy jobs, raised taxes on middle-class families, and made an already historic inflation crisis worse. ... This is what one-year of a Biden Administration got us. None of it is good for our country. ... Joe Biden gets an F, for failure, on every single issue he's touched." —Congressman Dan Crenshaw

The Hypocrisy Continues

I believe if you refer to yourself with a certain term, you cannot object to anyone referring to you by that term. That would be discrimination. Saying you can determine what one intended to connote using that term is subjective and arbitrary. It also endows you with special status and privilege. Not good for unity. -
The author of this article is far from a "fringe author". Think you have the intellect to argue with his writing? Give it your best shot. Andrew Puzder, former chief executive of CKE Restaurants and economic expert, is a visiting fellow in business and economic freedom at The Heritage Foundation. In his role as visiting fellow, Puzder focuses on the consequences of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activism, and the impact of shareholder resolutions. Puzder works with Heritage experts to advance business and free-market activity, economic growth, and develop policy solutions that benefit all Americans. Puzder began his career as a commercial trial lawyer in St. Louis in 1978 and later served as the personal attorney for entrepreneur Carl Karcher. He went on to become CEO of the well-known fast food powerhouses Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s chains in 2000, expanding to 3,800 locations and leading the company out of serious financial difficulties. He frequently delivers lectures on economics and politics for various groups, associations, colleges, and universities. Puzder is a senior fellow at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy, a member of the Washington University Law School’s Board of Advisors, a director at Job Creators Network, and a member of the advisory board at Prager University. He has authored several books, including “Job Creation: How It Really Works and Why Government Doesn’t Understand It,” “The Capitalist Comeback: The Trump Boom and the Left's Plot to Stop It,” “Getting America Back to Work” and “It’s Time to Let America Work Again.” In 2021, Puzder was named chairman of the board at 2ndVote Advisers, an investment firm formed in response to the stakeholder capitalism and ESG movements. There is an old saying VH, "When you start taking a lot of flack, you know you're over the target.

I didn't write the article. I just posted it for people who only see one side, no matter which side they see. But you have to admit Carter ruined the economy and Reagan revived it. That is historical fact and indisputable. But we are talking about Biden and the next 3 years here. The longer he waits to seriously address inflation, labor shortages, and supply chain problems, the worse the threat of an inevitable and deep recession becomes.

The Hypocrisy Continues

I have many friends with Native American blood in them and they refer to themselves as "half breeds". Are they racists? I don't believe they are. I'm more concerned with leftists insinuating anyone who calls themselves a "Patriot" is a racist. -
IN GENERAL: The side that sees the color of one's skin as the primary indicator of the person inside, is the racist side. Defining people for good or for bad, by their skin color is the definition of racism. The left is the side that proclaims minorities need government help to succeed. That's Racist! The left is the side that demonizes whites. That's racist. The side that says all are equal and deserve equal opportunity, is not the racist side. The side that believes all deserve equal opportunity, but not equal outcomes is not the racist side. Now individuals may not conform to the ideology of either side, but that has nothing to do with the sides IN GENERAL.

Why is the Biden administration so determined to ignore both the cause of Carter's economic failure and President Ronald Reagan's very successful formula for reversing it? Absent such an economic awakening, it's going to be a tough three years. The Hypocrisy Continues

"A man of good breeding" was a phrase used in the past as a compliment. The left has always corrupted the meaning of words to manipulate the thoughts of the masses. Orwell referred to "doublespeak" and "newspeak" in his novel 1984. In the novel, Newspeak is a method of controlling the people’s language in order to keep them under Big Brother’s heavy hand. It is a devious, diabolical system using brainwashing and mind-control to allow only certain “approved” words and ideas to be used. Words have meaning, and it benefits radicals to corrupt those meanings to advance their agenda. -
Anyone doin squirrel hunting?
Grouse replied to Northcountryman's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Years ago I used to carry a "Wrist Rocket" slingshot and small ball bearings to kill squirrels when deer hunting. It also served to shoot past deer in the brush to make noise beyond them, hoping they would move away from the noise and come in my direction. It often worked. -
Obama incited minorities to kill cops with his 8 years of lies. Cops are still being killed because of those lies.

This time of year on concentrate on thinning out the red squirrel population living in the pines right next to my house. They start working on the house when there's too many of them in the pines. I have to admit, it is a lot of fun sitting in there, full camo with binocs, just waiting for them to make a move so I can knock them down with the single shot .410. I send my nephew the tails to use for fly tying. -

Maybe you should look into the fall of Rome. -
I'm more than capable of multi tasking and time management. I'm not missing any of the good times. Too little time seeing distant threats and heading them off, will make for an unhappy future, for you and your offspring. Will they look back on our generation and wonder why we weren't as great as our fathers who fought in WWII or any of the wars prior to that? Will they wonder if we cared about their future? That's why the founders warned us vigilance was the price of freedom.

I'm fighting for the future of my grand kids. My life doesn't worry me anymore. What I'm doing to make life better is trying to stop those who are making it worse. Some are willing to tolerate it. That's what I see is the problem.
