President Joe Biden has made clear he will keep his promise to put the first black woman on the Supreme Court, following Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement. But in a curious tweet announcing he will pick someone with excellent qualifications, he said: “And they will be the first black woman nominated to the United States Supreme Court.” They? Yes. Don’t be surprised. “Diversity and equity” are of paramount importance to the Biden administration. He is making sure you remember it as he is making this announcement. So why would you assume it is a “she”? At least theoretically, the first black woman Supreme Court justice could be a biological male who self-identifies as a woman. The move would go right along with current White House practice.

I don't care which President did it, or does it, it is a violation of the Rule of Law and anyone who thinks it isn't doesn't know what he's talking about. Even doing it without saying you want to do it, is illegal. "Ironically, it is against federal law to begin a job search by announcing that only people of a certain race will be considered and that all people of other races will be rejected. The Supreme Court itself has been clear on that matter. As Justice Lewis Powell wrote in the 1978 Bakke case, 'Preferring members of any one group for no reason other than race or ethnic origin is discrimination for its own sake. This the Constitution forbids.'" —Gary Bauer As far as Biden goes. "Hate to break it to you but the only black person serving on the Supreme Court today was personally attacked, defamed and slandered by Joe Biden before he voted AGAINST him." —Benny Johnson

Terrorists don't care about gun control laws. They want massive death and destruction, so they prefer suicide bombers, truck bombs, airplanes full of fuel or nukes. Unfortunately concealed carry won't stop them. Voting Democrats out of office is our best hope of stopping them.

It's one thing to be "sensitive". It's something else to demand compliance with threats. Chicago Schools Tell Teachers Sex Is ‘Socially Constructed,’ Tell Them to Hide Students’ Gender Pronouns From Parents Chicago Public Schools told teachers that “gender and sex” are social constructs that have been “created and enforced” by society and threatened retaliatory measures if they didn’t use students’ preferred pronouns during a required teacher training program. Another part of the presentation told teachers not to disclose to parents if their child identifies as a different gender or prefers different pronouns, and it cautioned teachers that there could be consequences for failing to comply. “Discussing a student’s transition with their parent or guardian without the student’s explicit consent is not permitted,” a slide reportedly read. “Disclosure of this kind can create an unsafe situation for the student. This is both a legal and safety concern, and there is no age restriction on this guidance.” Chicago Schools Tell Teachers Sex Is ‘Socially Constructed’ (dailysignal.com)

Well, this time of year Florida is filled with snow birds from the north. The masked ones may be them.

But soon when you refuse to play this game, it will affect you, because they want there to be penalties for non-compliance.

These kids are the future of America?

But when cost reductions are realized in the school system, taxes remain the same or go up. I guess a positive attitude helps you accept that. -

This isn't protesting. This is an attitude being installed in students that will be carried into to real world for life. Intolerance of any opposing viewpoint and a desire to silence it with force is totalitarian stuff. Where's the so called tolerance? Where's the freedom of choice? When people make light of these things it indicates they have no idea what is going on or the implications for the future. -

You are unaware of what was happening in other states where parents vehemently opposed CRT being taught in school? -

America today is divided into favored and disfavored groups by an unjust ideology that dominates our ruling class—identity politics.

The modern administrative state is anti-constitutional and directed by an oligarchic 'elite' that is corrupt and distant from the people it rules.

Just more proof leftists ignore the US Constitution when it impedes their desires, and use it as a bludgeon when it works in their favor. -

When both parents need to work, remote learning is impossible. I also don't see parents who home school their children getting a break on school taxes. -
Sure you can find it if you look for it, but it's not being force fed to the masses like the preferred narrative the leftist media wants you to swallow. That's the problem with the propaganda press.

And when parents get involved and go to school board meetings to state their objections, they are told they don't get to decide what the schools teach their kids and get labeled "domestic terrorists". Then the FBI comes knocking on their door. It's a perfect example of how the government no longer works for the people. -
Not True. The NRA's carry insurance was offered by a licensed NY insurance company that also covered my firearms for theft and had done so for a long time. All of that was cancelled by NY's AG. they were accused of violating insurance law by offering coverage on illegal activity. Are you covered for legal fees if you use one of your firearms to defend yourself? I think not.

Don't forget NY just passed a law against concealed carry insurance banning it's sale to permit holders. They called it "Murder Insurance". It was only good to cover your legal fees in the event a permit holder legally defended themselves and shot someone. It wouldn't pay for your defense if it was a case of clear cut murder. This law also wound up cancelling the firearm theft insurance the same insurance company offered, as they were banned from NY by the AG for business license violations in the eyes of the AG. They committed no crime and never got due process, just a legal bludgeoning by a rouge anti-gun NY State AG. The AG just pulled their state license making them ineligible to conduct business in NY. See why the state requires you to have a license for everything? It makes it simple to pull your rights. So how would it seem legal for the state to now turn around and order gun owners to get the same type of insurance they just destroyed?

Chef, I'm not sure you understand what "Democracy" is. We are not a Democracy, we're a Representative Republic limited by the US Constitution. There is great danger in supporting politicians who tell you they are insuring Democracy, because that would mean they ignore the Constitution and the Rule of Law. If you look into it, you will find Democrats do it all the time in order to expand their power over the people, while telling you they are working to make your life better. That's where the threat of dictatorship is coming from. I never saw Trump come close to being a dictator. I saw him constantly working to expand individual freedom and liberty while restricting government power to it's Constitutional limits. If I'm missing something here, tell me.

A recent 2021 study done by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education found that 66 percent of college students said they supported shouting down speakers. Shockingly, 23 percent of college student respondents support using violence to stop a speaker. Both numbers have spiked since 2020. By indoctrinating and coddling young people, American universities are breeding intolerance. We are already seeing the effects of this indoctrination. Young leftists have disavowed our founding documents and fathers, and they censor, fire, harass, and publicly slander anyone who dares think differently from them. Also: In October 2020, nine Yale professors signed an open letter decrying the "inhumane" treatment of college students during the pandemic. "Across the country, students have been blamed, snitched on, policed, sanctioned, suspended and dismissed for violations of COVID-related guidelines, including minor infractions." So what we will see in the future is a lot of hateful snitches.

Counterpoint from Nate Jackson: The U.S. economy showed some health in 2021, including the new report that it grew by 5.7% for the year and 6.9% in the fourth quarter. The yearly number marks the fastest growth since it was "Morning in America" and Ronald Reagan was running for reelection in 1984. That's great news, right? Yes, but... We don't mean to play Debbie Downer, but our job is to provide perspective, not sugarcoating. Naturally, Joe Biden celebrated the GDP numbers. "For the first time in 20 years, our economy grew faster than China's," he said. "This is no accident. My economic strategy is creating good jobs for Americans, rebuilding our manufacturing, and strengthening our supply chains here at home to help make our companies more competitive." His strategy has only hampered growth, and there are several key effects of his efforts that will become causes of further concern. After the horrific year of 2020, in which government shutdowns in a vain attempt to control the coronavirus knee-capped the economy, 2021 had almost nowhere to go but up. For that, we can largely thank the policies of Donald Trump, who fueled a roaring economy for three years before COVID came, and who did what he could (i.e., pushing a quick reopening and fast-tracking the vaccines) to get things rolling again after the shutdowns. Biden inherited Trump's growing economy. Next, much of the economic growth in 2021 was not shared nationwide but was generally limited to GOP-led states. That provides a helpful illustration of why Democrat polices are bad, but we're not after illustrations — we want real economic growth for our nation. As the Wall Street Journal editorial board put it: "Imagine if the Biden Administration had focused primarily on the pandemic as it took power a year ago. Get the vaccines out, accelerate Covid therapies, and let an economy poised to soar take off on its own. No $1.9 trillion 'relief' bill in March, no threat of new tax increases and spending to 'transform' American society." It's not hard to believe that the economy would be far stronger. Looking ahead, the economy faces serious headwinds in 2022 that all the "experts" say are going to slow growth to a crawl. All of us rubes in flyover country understand that too, which is why, according to the Pew Research Center, "a sizable majority of Americans (72%) say economic conditions are only fair or poor." Indeed. When Joe and Jane Six-Pack see high gas prices, no workers at their local restaurants, and empty store shelves, they don't all of a sudden become giddy about great GDP numbers. Inflation is running at a 40-year high of 7% right now. That might be temporarily padding the bottom line for many businesses, but its lasting effect is to reduce consumption (i.e., economic activity). Those businesses can't find workers, either. Sure, the headline unemployment rate is a stellar 3.9%, but there are something like 11 million job openings and six million unemployed people. There are roughly four million fewer people working than in February 2020. All of that is driving up the price of labor (Democrats couldn't pass a $15 minimum wage legislatively, so they torpedoed the labor market to achieve it), which causes more inflation. Lather, rinse, repeat. The supply chain is a wreck. Stores can't stock shelves and manufacturers expect supplies and prices to continue being a problem. Ironically, the lion's share of fourth-quarter growth was massive inventory purchases. That is unsustainable. In short, Biden put his "I did that" sticker on good GDP numbers when the reality is it belongs on gas pumps and empty shelves. The American economy is resilient, and 5.7% growth last year is great news. We hope that replicates this year. But Biden and his Democrat pals are going to have to get out of the way to let that happen, and stepping aside is not something leftists do well.
