New riots in Rochester
Grouse replied to 9jNYstarkOH's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
The idea there is an outbreak of police brutality is as fraudulent as the election they were protesting in DC. All data and statistics proves the police brutality narrative is false. A fraudulent election is what attacks the foundation of democracy. There is a big difference in the way leftists respond to these two issues. Police are bad and corrupt government is good. -

They did find the 70 year old guy dead, but nothing about the cause of his death yet. Why did he try to run off in the swamp? The witness took off in a boat, but there must've been another boat. What happened to the 2nd boat? Why didn't the old guy take the boat to get away?

New riots in Rochester

It's easy to see who the rioters are and cull them from the peaceful protesters to stop the looting and burning. The mayor can do that, but isn't doing it. Sounds as if you don't think the mayor should do it. Are gun owners responsible for the nuts that abuse gun ownership? In the eyes of anti-gun politicians they are. They are constantly being forced to accept laws that infringe on their rights because some idiot violated a gun law. It's called "preventative law". When the government passes a law to prevent anyone from committing a crime because one person did something bad, all of the innocent people bear the brunt of that persons crime. It's unconstitutional. No law can require the individual to prove that he won’t violate another’s rights in the absence of evidence that he is going to. But this is precisely what gun control laws do. Gun control laws use force against the individual in the absence of any specific evidence that he is about to commit a crime. They say to the rational, responsible gun owner: You may not have or carry a gun because others have used them irrationally or irresponsibly. This is unjust and intolerable. The government may coercively intervene only when there is an objective threat that someone is going to use force. The government may respond only to specific threats. It has no right to initiate force against the innocent. And a gun owner is innocent until specific evidence arises that he is threatening to initiate force. “Laws prohibiting or regulating guns across the board represent the evil of preventive law and should be abolished.” - columnist Harry Binswanger -
The problem here is the selective use of censorship against speech the forum doesn't like. When it is obvious a business has a prejudice against a particular type of opinion, it is violating the law. Businesses used to refuse to serve blacks, gays, even women. They were all brought up on charges and forced to abide by the law. Discrimination doesn't allow for prejudice. Twitter banning only conservative opinions and promoting leftist ones, is clearly discrimination. Saying a business has a right to do that is clearly a misunderstanding and corruption of the law. But the left has been ignoring the Rule of Law in many areas for quite some time now and has been getting away with it, because half the people in the country don't see the problems it will cause.

Because of her age, we will never hear about any past run ins with the law. But I'm quite certain we will hear about many more run ins with the law in the future. Considering the circumstances surrounding this incident, the mayor should clamp down on those protesters with gusto. Tolerating rioting, looting and violence in response to an out of control juvenile being sprayed, is only going to reinforce the belief non-compliance with LEO's is the proper course of action to garner support. -
All's well that ends well. I firmly believe putting the word out on as many sources as possible, really helps to find people.

Something about the survivors account seems improbable to me. A 70 year old man boats up to a blind with strangers in it. He asks if he can hunt in that blind and they say "Yes". Blinds on Reelfoot lake are highly prized and protected. Then with no motive, shoots two of them. Then the third guy is able to take his gun without getting shot? Then pushes the man in the lake and motors away to get help? Nobody had a cell phone? If he had the guy's gun, why didn't he help the wounded right there? Why didn't he hold the guy for the police? A few things about the witness account don't seem to follow normal human reactions to this type of incident.

Why is the left obsessed with electric vehicles? On average, you might get less emissions from EVs, but they’re not all they’re hyped up to be. Here are the facts: 1. Electric vehicle parts rely on lithium batteries. Manufacturing lithium batteries, largely in China, for electric vehicles releases 30% MORE emissions than normal combustion engine manufacturing. 2. Our electricity is still primarily generated from natural gas + coal. So, depending on the fuel mix, your EV might rely on these fossil fuels and have higher emissions than a normal vehicle. 3. Forcing natural gas out of the market - which the left wants to do by banning fracking - ends up bringing us back to coal, which has 1.5x more emissions than natural gas. 4. Electricity is mostly generated by natural gas, nuclear, and coal. Solar and wind make up a VERY small percentage of that, despite taxpayers paying massive subsidies for it. 5. So when President Biden promises a new fleet of electric vehicles. Ask yourself: what powers those electric vehicles? And do they really deliver a “green revolution” the left is promising you? To conclude: So while average emissions might be less, it depends entirely on the energy source from the grid. EVs are far from an environmentalist panacea. Massive infrastructure is required to support them, range is limited, and large industrial transport still needs gas.

Biden starts his war on firearm makers

"[Democrats are] trying to ... take away our Second Amendment rights. Make no doubt — they're gonna be coming sometime this year with a bill to take away our Second Amendment rights. So they're building this predicate that, 'Oh, my God, everybody better be afraid of somebody with a gun,' and that's gonna be their attempt to then go take away your guns." —Rep. Steve Scalise -

"Conservatives must remember that the Constitution of the United States and the rights reflected therein are rights bestowed on citizens not by the grace of government, but by the hand of God and the essence of nature. The responsibility is not on citizens to prove they need or deserve these rights and freedoms, which, by default, are theirs to enjoy. Rather, the onus is—and should remain—on government to prove, under the strictest of scrutiny, that any curtailment of a constitutionally guaranteed right is for the overall public good without any undue impact on the ability of individual citizens to preserve their life, liberty and property as they see fit."
