  1. "The dumbest people with the dumbest ideas have risen like rancid cream to the top of the spoiled milk and that's being generous"
  2. This is a statement of fact. It happened. The drug has been FDA approved for decades and has never hurt anyone who took it. So if you don't ask yourself why it was basically "criminalized" during the pandemic, you're foolish.
  3. The Biden administration recently announced a rule change for green card applicants. No longer will they be disqualified for receiving welfare assistance, including food stamps and Medicaid. The rule change reverses a Trump-era requirement that sought to deny legal status to an individual who would effectively be living off the government dole as a "public charge." The Biden administration eliminated the requirement that eligible immigrants must not have been a burden to the American taxpayer. In other words, concern over ensuring that a new immigrant would be a positive contributor to the nation rather than a user has been thrown out. The more people depend upon government programs, the better — that's the message the Biden administration is sending.
  4. Found this info online, thought I'd pass it along. Not all salmon is the same. Save this post for future reference! Salmon is one of the most widely available fish for consumers, and its one of the oily cold water fish that also have a lot of super important micronutrients. Your omega-3s are a good example. Cooked salmon typically contains 500–1500 mg DHA and 300–1000 mg EPA per 100 grams. Depending on salmon species, there are different flavor profiles and health benefits. A fattier wild salmon will have more omega-3s, unless that salmon is farmed, in which case it will have more omega-6 fats. I prefer wild but eat farmed a few times a month because that’s what restaurants serve unless they explicitly tell you it’s wild (nearly all salmon in sushi restaurants is farmed too and I eat sushi all the time). Often, farmed salmon are kept in huge tanks, and fed ultraprocessed fish meal. Prophylactically antibiotics are often used to prevent infection and many farmed fish around the world were found to contain PCBs and flame retardant residues. You can buy “better” farmed options from responsible retailers, or sourced from places like Norway who are leading the charge on better farming practices and doing so can help curb overfishing. It’s not always black and white!
  5. My concern here, like with the SAFE Act, is that the law is so vague, the police may be inclined to arrest you and let you prove your innocence in court. I believe these laws are written like this for exactly that reason. It's intimidation. You know you didn't break the law, but will be forced to spend a lot of time and money to prove it.
  6. And that is the problem. The government is ignoring the other side in the debate and forcing their "solutions" on everyone against their will. High gas prices, mandatory EV only sales and new construction regs are not coming from consumer demand.
