  1. Great pic! Looks like a nice buck on the left.
  2. We finally got 2 of our ladder stands up this weekend.... [smg id=306] [smg id=307]
  3. My dad got a DMP, and I have the muzzle tag too I could use. We put stands up this weekend finally... I have the stand setup a little off the field so I can see the valley behind me. Here is are pics from up top... My brother was sitting up top when I took this pic: [smg id=307] Then I went up and took those other pics attached.

  5. This was from this weekend, the one field has been hammered so hard over the last two weeks its crazy. The trail camera went crazy and the one field looks like it was hit with a mower. [smg id=293] [smg id=292] [smg id=291] [smg id=290]
  6. Man, the deer absolutely HAMMERED the buckwheat. To the point where the field looks like its dead. But the good news is, there is clover and brassica coming up, and we just had a nice rain storm yesterday. The other field with the rye is going good, seemed they loved that buckwheat. We were in the middle of putting up a stand about 200 yards away from the one field and we could see the deer filing in there at about 3pm yesterday. I wish I had my camera, but it was raining the whole day. Edit: Posted a new topic with pics here: http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php/topic,1297.0.html
  7. Did you get a bill a few weeks later?
  8. Landloarding is great until you have someone that doesnt pay. Then all of a sudden they have more rights then the owner of the house. Regardless, illegal renting is a huge problem that needs to be addressed.
  9. Man that reminds me of an old joke.... An old Irish woman wins the lottery and she has always wanted a milk bath.... So she gets one, and she is sitting in the bath as they are about to start pouring the milk in. They ask would your like it pasteurized (Past Your Eyes) or? She goes nah, up to me ti**ies will be fine.
  10. The guy at the shop put the box in my truck . I thought it felt light when I got home . I didn't say anything to the guy and never went back . I told the guy that mentioned the place and had worked part time for the butcher about the ripoff and he said he had gotten a bad deal also . So I asked the dumb ass why he sent me there and all I got was a blank stare . The guy puts up a sign and butchers deer in his garage during the season . Ah, that sucks.. I guess live and learn! I'm glad I found a butcher locally, and I mean locally, 1 mile away that people praise. Once we have the cabin up and running next year I'll have my butchering station setup and will be calling on people to teach and help me
  11. Don't forget about all the illegals, ones who only rent, that do not pay income taxes either. Regarding the muti-family, in most counties its 100% illegal to do so with out having that house classified as a 2,3 or more family house so you are properly assessed. My house is classified as a 2 fam house because the previous owner was a slum lord, and I am in the process of trying to correct it. However, since 2 fam houses where I live a rarely approved, I am actually considering aborting the process. Why? because it makes my house more marketable and valuable if I choose to sell it. I'm not sure how long I'll stay where I am, so thats why I am on the fence. If I choose to live here long term I'll have it converted back to a 1 fam so my taxes are reduced. I grieve and fight my taxes every year as well, which has helped and reduced my taxes successfully by more then 1/3.
  12. Is it legally subdivided though? I mean is it legal to rent to 2 families in your area?
  13. Hrmm... Odd, then if thats the case, its assessed incorrectly, because a 2 fam house is worth more.
  14. Eddie, did you say something when you only got 33#? Thats crazy.
  15. What if you pee in the dripper??
  16. I think noodle should invite us all to hunt those 1400 acres, they can talk there and work things out, and then its all good
  17. Doc, Which more then likely would be illegal. If its been subdivided to have more then one rental then it would need to qualify as a 2 family house. Not sure how they do the taxes by you, but here, its taxed by essentially # of family.
  18. The landlord / owner is the one paying the taxes. So in essence the renter is paying the taxes.
  19. Anyone have trail cam photo's over the years? Not that that's a perfect indicator, but it would be cool to see.
  20. I'm not sure what the reason for the drop would be. I can see the drop the first year, because the 1.5's would be illegal to shoot. Whats the stats for first the 2nd year and 3rd to 4th for buck take? (I'm @ work so caint to do much browsing, I'll check tonight).
  21. I think the general misconception about people that support AR's from ones that don't think they are Trophy hunters. In 3J, where I hunted the last 16 years or so, we are still taking just as many bucks after AR then before. I think its great that there are slightly larger bucks running around, AR isn't going to make a trophy buck, I don't think anyone on that 900 comment thread eluded to that. I'm not obsessed with horns, like I said its great seeing some bigger ones.
  22. Thanks, heading up there this weekend. Can't wait!
  23. Looks like you have some nice bucks on the cam, congrats.
  24. You would be surprised, they do milk delivery all over the place still.
