  1. I never hunted on LI... I'd assume the hunting spots out in Suffolk would be pretty busy.
  2. The stand in the picture I posted was one of the taller ones. Its platform measured about 2.5'x3'. So the larger 12' high stand was likely around 3'x3.5' or possibly 3'x4'. I don't quite remember. But if I were to build these again, I stick to a smaller size. 2.5'x3' is plenty of room. I built the platform tonight... I did not dado cut the platform, I did use the deck joist things with outdoor treated screws. Its 4ft x 40 inches... I did not finish the back part of it yet, I bought the lag bolts, just have to screw them in then cut them off like you did. This thing feels as solid as a rock!! I used all treated woods.. Pics attached
  3. Not to stir things up, but they had a 10 year old girl on Deer City USA (outdoor channel) tonight shoot a cross bow for the first time. She was dead on @ 30 yards Then the other girl, 11 shot it for the first time, dead on. Give that same girl a recurve or a "fancy 99% let off compound bow" she wont be dead on. Again am I against the Xbow, no, but trying to act like they are one and of the same is nuts. I'm still on the fence if they should be allowed in the archery season for able bodied hunters.
  4. Yeah but I was born when cars ran on gas, so I have a compound.
  5. Joe its got the limbsavers in there from the factory. My stabilizer is rubber coated, so that should be good. I do not have any string noise suppressors yet... But the string noise seems a little loud, was thinking of getting one of these - > http://bowrattler.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=29&category_id=11&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=57
  6. Haha thats awesome! Sent you a PM And that bear is awesome! The white on it is amazing.
  7. Anyone do anything to their bow to help with noise suppression? String silencers, rubber stabilizers etc?
  8. Ordered them, PM http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/member.php?u=146534 3 Pack $25 shipped, he accepts paypal.
  9. On AT there is a post about a 3 pack of lume's for 25 including shipping. I am going to PayPal him tonight, figured it was the best price I've seem them at.
  10. I don't mind heights, but I do might them when something is not stable I might just take a extension ladder with me in the woods and do it that way
  11. How hard are these things to raise / attach to the tree? Do you bring a ladder with you so you don't have to climb the thing when its not attached to the tree yet?
  12. Wow nice bucks, wish that was my place
  13. Where did you find those CX Tracers with the replaceable bat?
  14. Master Cylinder on my ATV took a crap ... What happened was the brake so tight for some reason, so I figured I'd flush and bleed the brakes. It appears the fluid was really bad, so bad there must have been water in there that nuked the o-ring in the master. Once I flush it, it would not build pressure and I saw some black crap coming up through the reservoir, which I believe is the o-ring. Anyways, I ordered a rebuild kit, $20, so hopefully that will do it. Since the ATV is up @ the property, I ordered a used master cylinder I found off ebay for $10 so I could just rebuild that one at home, then do the swap when I go back up. I'll flush and bleed again, and hopefully see some pressure. I never rebuild one nor changed one on a ATV, hopefully its not to crazy!
  15. We shall see what happens, this is the first planting on the plot, so I am glad anything is growing with the lower PH levels we had. Next year will be a different story. But I did see a bunch of other crap growing, hopefully will have some better pics next time I go up.
