New clearings almost done, stumps being pulled right now. They are roughly 150 feet by 250 feet, and separated by about 30 yards each. I wanted to make it narrower, however due to semi limited flat land, we had to go this route. At about 225 feet out it starts creeping up. Its smack in the middle of our property, with a spring off to the side of one of the fields (about 75 yards into the woods). I'm pretty excited, but I'll try not to rush things. Prob just concentrate on 1 field for this year. Even if we do not get to plant anything on the 1 field, I bet some new growth will come up over the next few weeks?

Maybe perm stands are better, they may cost a little more up front to do it right, take a lot of time to put up, but in the long run no one is going to steal a 500+ lb treated tower stand. Especially if your posts are cemented

Even if there was a major increase in bow hunters, I do not think it would really matter. Your shooting at significantly less distance then rifle, and the density in the woods with the leaves and everything still on the tree's your view is decreased as well. no ?

Nice, what do you have a little clearing in front of your stand? Anything planted there?

To be honest, I don't know. All I do know is I try to practice good scent control with bagging my hunting clothes, washing in scent killer, and spraying coversent / scent killed on myself before I head out to the woods I'd like to learn more though.

How stable are those ladder stands? I was thinking about a 2 person ladder stand just for myself, so there is plenty of room.
