  1. You know that OH doesn't sell a separate crossbow stamp and bowstamp, right? You know they just sell a deer hunting license, right? And you know that landowners don't have to buy any license, right? So tell me......how can you calculate accurate statistics when you do noy know how many hunters there are using bows and crossbows? LMFAO The Ohio DNR is content, hunters are killing deer and they are meeting their mandate.
  2. How is it that something so reasonable as that.. has yet to be done by the DEC? I don't get it... instead they survey 2500 hunters and I'm never one of them They are on a budget!
  3. Apparently I am not in your class when it comes to ego, also. Get to the point fling er. Wisecracks and one liners do not support your position and furthermore, your insulting posts are an ineffective means to support your opinion or to sway any of the members viewpoints. Much of your comments have been rebutted with facts. Perhaps you start doing some research and present facts. Be prepared to be challenged when you post an opinion which is unsupported by facts. Be respectful and you will receive respectful answers here. To date you treat everyone answers to your posts with utter disdain. Expect to receive an equal amount in return.
  4. "For those that haven't seen this "Assault Weapon"...their words, not mine, so back off...here's a little video....400+ fps....not your grandpappie's X Gun." Coming soon to your local Walmart in time for the 2011 Archery Season! :-*
  5. The hunting season is long enough and we should be content with its length. I would bet that any attempts to lengthen the season would be met with severe oposition and polarize the anti hunting community that much more.
  6. I got news for you; NYB only represents a small minority of NY bowhunters.
  7. Archery sales increased! What is wrong with that? Deer kills increased. The Virginia DNR's mandate to control deer populations is working. The NYDEC will take whatever steps are needed to fulfill their mandate (control deer populations, preserve habitat and protect the public) to offset the ever diminishing number of deer hunters licensed to control deer populations. If it includes the introduction of crossbows into the regular archery season it will be done.
  8. Doe, there may be an initial increase for the ones that gotta try a new thing and buy into the hype about there effectiveness. themn there will be a declline...and really nice used ones for sale cheap...lol. I heard that happened in Ohio. I think the major influx would be from hunters who physically can't bow hunt due to disabilities. And that proposed bill would encompass them. Will it bring new hunters in or some back....maybe a few back but chances are those folks are gun hunting and some would migrate back to bow hunting. I have one old hunting partner of ours that would be in those ranks because he has a condition that makes it so he can not tolerate the cold. he gets out very little gun hunting anymore....mostly up north early season. He would be able to participate is this was passed. so that is one...lol Good comments by the two of you!
  9. 22%....you should get the point. Is this the new math?
  10. That puts an end to that Cavalier statement by the af.
  11. So now we can differentiate between archery hunters. We have Long Bow archers, Recurve Bow archers, Compound Bow Archers and Cross Bow Archers. I forgot to include: Anne Archer, Amy Archer, Army Archer. "They do not necessarily have bowhunters best interests in mind....in fact, it is obvious in threads such as these that they do NOT have bowhunters best interests at heart".
  12. "A more reasonable explanation than yours is that bowhunters "upgraded." They believe crossbows to be sufficiently advantaged to dump their compounds and take up a crossbow" Similiar to all those archers who dumped their long bows and recurves for compound bows.

  14. I am a bowhunter that has hunted with compounds and recurves. I am associated with NYB and P&Y, and by association, NABC. I think anyone physically able to use a bow but chooing a crossbow instead is a pathetic lazy slob. Such a classless statement.
  15. I will say this, those who are proponents of AR fail to consider what the overall effect of such restrictions will have on the overall health of the deer herd, the health of the habitat (which supports other animals) and the safety of the general public. Its not so simple to want AR and not consider what steps the DEC must undertake to implement such a program. What is the cost involved. Where is the deer density data for each DMU, how many does need to be killed, what is the health of the habitat,,,,,,,,,,,,,, adinfonitum. Show me a definitive plan based upon sound science to consider before implementing restrictions. The DEC still claims that there is no biological need for the implementation of statewide AR. As I am no expert when it comes to deer biology, I defer to them and accept their policy.
  16. Whether you choose to believe it or not, full inclusion of crossbows in archery season is coming. The inroduction of this bill is the first step in that process. You can stop holding your breath now! :-*
  17. I have the same gun, it was my first gun, it was given to me by my neighbor who could no longer deer hunt as a Christmas present and a reward for always shoveling snow in his driveway and sidewalk. The guy was a WWI veteran and had the most memorable stories. Miss him a lot.

  19. You cannot help yourself, apparently. You are so full of yourself that you believe you can speak for me....such arrogance. Seek help. Arrogance you say, read what you write prior making a post. Your posts regarding this topic have caused many to presume what you say. Get to the point. How about answering my question or just be content to be irrelevent.
  20. Since only 30% of all registered voters in NY voted this past election, we should blame them for electing these individuals.
  21. Bloomberg was not in Arizona (get that straight). Representatives from NYPD were there and they proved what Bloomberg and others have been saying. So whats the big deal? Arizona has a problem ( and so does NY -with illegal hand guns) and the NY sting operation is being used the Arizona politicos to skirt the real issue. Get your head out of the sand!
