OK guy's Call your lawmakers
wztirem replied to sits in trees's topic in NYS DEC News and Annoucements
Awesome. Let's allow the disabled some extra advantage to get them in the game. But let's agree that it IS an extra advantage....and stop with this ridiculous BS that a crossbow is no different than a compound. I bow hunt with a recurve and have no problem with bowhunters using a compound bow with all their new innovations and similarly have no problem with anyone using a crossbow. Clearly, you fear that crossbow hunters will have an advantage over archers who use modern compound bows and perhaps the few remaining traditional bowhunters who still employ traditional archery. You fear that the introduction of crossbows will impinge upon your bow season. I got news for you Robin Hood, the introduction of crossbows into the regular archery season is coming, better get used to sharing the woods! -

You have no business speaking for me....I am perfectly capable of doing so myself. I must have struck a nerve! :-* Then repeat what I said "He is afraid of the added competition!" -
Lets all hope it is an entertaining game.

With an ever shrinking number of hunters in NY and the DEC's need to control Deer Populations inclusion of crossbows in archery season is inevitable! -
Maybe the Arrowflinger could answer the question or perhaps we could solicit an answer from NYBOW!

Appears to be a math question! Any takers?

No more smoking in City parks and beaches.
wztirem replied to First-light's topic in General Chit Chat
Its not the effect of second smoke that worries me, instead i am more concerned with the effects of having to listen to second hand rap music ??? -
Sure, as long as theres nobody right nearby. Hope they are dressed in B/O if it is during gun season.

What would raise the DEC's eyebrows would be a significant increase in hunter deer kill reports.

Perhaps he is reluctant to admit that the added competition will cramp his style and compound (pun) his chances for a successful kill. -
On State Land, first come first served is a general rule of thumb and most State Land hunters accept that.

Are you this obnoxious with everyone, or just the newer members? Disabled hunters have access to draw locks now, and NYB has had a great program to help the physically challenge for years. The number of people who truly need a crossbow is probably very low. Nevertheless such disabled hunters should be given the opportunity to hunt with a crossbow. -
