    Its still a baseless comment. That little snippet you attached does not specifically identify all the types of weapons turned in, nor their condition or value, so stop backtracking. Think before you post! The fact that these weapons were turned in rubs you the wrong the way.You must believe that such actions are Unamerican (sic). Perhaps you hit the nail on the head, criminals will turn in their guns for cash in order to purchase new guns. You may want to reflect upon that comment!

    More than anything else, fear of the unknown drives amd ramps up the the hysteria. Both sides on the issue of gun control will spew their propaganda, rhetoric,facts etal and eventually (if history serves itself, the proceess will be a long one) something will be made into law, albeit many people will be greatly upset.

    Its quite plausible that a long protracted legal battle in NY State is in our future regarding gun control. Precedents have already been set. Case in point NYC and other municipalities.

    You know what has been advocated by those seeking additional gun control measures. If you want to continue the argument just say so! We can civilly agree to disagree. Make sure you tune in this Sunday to meet the press. By the way, no Republicans (sponsored by the NRA) are attending and I for one can tell you that I as a registered Republicam (WHO VOTES) I will be watching.

    The NRA issued a statement saying that their members were "shocked,saddened and heartbroken" and announced that they had a plan to unveil "meaningfull contributions to make sure that none of this happens again" Ther were a lot of things Wayne could have said that would have had a meaningful impact and contribution to the discussion concerning gun violence in this country. Unfortunately he chose not to!

    What i am sying is that the NRA had over a week to prepare a meaningful response and they failed to do so. I for one would have expected a more sensitive and well thought out response. His response may well have swayed those sitting on the fence to leap into the arms of the far right gun control advocates.
