I am out the door shortly to go pheasant and grouse hunting for a while. I had a coworker/friend who died at 38 from breast cancer. I am taking her son out to play a bit today. His dad does not hunt, so I am out with him. No dog this year as I had to put my lab down in october, but we will still be out and about.

I leave them out. but the straps are replaced next year with ratchet straps.

I totally agree. I have been trained very well. The biggest part of the training i knowing when to and when not to use the gun. But if I am going to get killed anyway, I am going down firing. I got a lot of training so hopefully I will never have to use the gun, but am ready if I need to. Plus my home defense weapon is my 12 gauge, not my handguns.

you better be good with a load of 12 gauge flying at you or some guy empyting a auto loader at you. But to each his own. I played baseball in my younger days. My high school average was around 250. That means 75 pecent of the time I was unsuccessful. My average with a gun is much better.

ok let the illegal hunters keep taking illegal deer. It is all about not spending any money I know but a miracle fix like better soil? Pay more taxes so the dec can hire officers to nail the illegal poachers and hunters. If no illegal deer were taken, there would be lots of deer. In other words support the dec to do the job we pay them for. Yeah complain about how they do nothing and wont call them etc. If there were enough of them and they were held accountable, they would do the job, but you have to do your prt also. my rifles have 3x9x40 scopes. I rarely have them above 4 or 5 power. Unless you are field sitting, there is woods to contend with. it is not like being at a wide open range.

you just have to remember that opinions are like butts. Everyone has one and they usually stink, because they are based on limited experience. Myself for isntance. I have always used bushnell and nikon. I have never used anything else. So, of course I am goign to say they are great. Others only whatever brand they like. The best advice you can get is get the best scope you can afford. If you put up a post asking about anythung you will get a different answer form everyone. Go to a sporting goods store, look at scopes look through them see what you like, then see what you can afford.

I hunt fish with a bow best of both worlds. World carp shoots were held 10 miles from my house on the st lawrence. Come to think of it, that would be the only reason I could think to shorten deer season is to shoot carp more
