I think last year Ed I told you about the new rapid speed loaders 3 shots in 17 seconds

How is cutting trees on your own property hunter harassment? Please find me that one in the law books. You have the right to cut wood any time you want to. He on the other hand has no right to fire off shots like that especially if he fired them onto the neighbors property. criminal negligence at the least, which is much more than hunter harassment. Could have been another hunter there he was shooting in the direction of.

from what they are reporting on the news now, the guns were legal and registered to his mother. He shot her first then took her legal guns and committed the crimes. So they will target legal guns too. But remember Obama has no agenda to take guns away. I read that somewhere. He used it to push an agenda regardless of politics his words.

The simple truth is more people get hurt and killed falling out of tree stands every year than are shot. Why so much emphasis on shootings? I am safer on the ground in my green and black wool, than you are in your tree stand wearing orange statistically. Maybe we should either make harnesses mandatory or outlaw tree stands. Less people will get hurt every year. The percentage of an incident happening is immaterial. The less chance during bow season does not negate the need for orange. Any chance is too much of a chance. Why are you guys so against it during archery purely from a safety point of view?

we don't count in the north. I keep saying come and hunt with me and see 4 or 5 deer a season and tell me how I need the same restrictions you do.

actually the money the state gets from licenses is a small part of the money the state gets. The number of licenses is more impoortant as that is how we get federal monies through the pitman robertson act

gotta love the xtp's in a ml. no reason to worry then.

my simple point is this. If it makes us all safer, it should be worn during all big game seasons, so we are as safe as can be. If deer do not see it, what is the difference? Seems to me almost everyone is for it, so why oppose it during any time if it is such a good thing.

yes hunt or be hunted you got a good one. Consider yourself lucky. Now Ed come on it wasn't hunting season so what was the big deal

what brand and weight of bullet?
-
It really isnt ethical, as the deer can not get away, but who also who is going to swim into water that deep to retrieve the deer?

what about muzzleloaders. They shoot as far or further than any shotgun. If I have to wear it during the season I choose, so should everyone else.

I wish this was in my jurisdiction.

My only thought is if deer do not see it as the so called experts say, why are most opposed to wearing it during archery and ml seasons? If it is mandatory, make it mandatory for all big game seasons.

I have one. After a month it stopped taking night pics. All you see is black. I sent it back got a replacement quickly. One week later, the same issue. Called them back and they again told me to return it. I didn't bother. I will buy different cams for next year.

which shows do the real hunts Geno? Those I would watch. I stay away from them mostly or if I am bored, I watch for the entertainment factor. I would like to see some real hunts though. The one I have found that is closest is Jim Shockey in his yukon land.

Speaking from 35 years of rifle hunting, it is not the rifle. Get to the range get good with the gun as mentioned. If you are placing high lung hits, there is a bit before you will see blood as the cavity needs to fill up. As far as having enough rife, and brace yourselves, I have seen more and quicker recoveries with lighter faster bullets. I use a 25-06 with 115 grain bullets. Fast flat and hit hard. The other thing you should do is learn to track. There are more signs than blood on the ground to look for. Look on saplings, as they brush against things as the run. Also look a little higher too. If a deer is bleeding through the nose, it will spray, and you will find it at nose level. And my last thing, when a deer is hit and runs, sit down and wait a while. If you go right after it, you will chase it. Most times if they are hit hard, they do not go far and lie down. The more you chase, the further they will go. I could not imagine giving up if I did not see blood in 100 yards. OOPS one more thing. Watch how the deer reacts when you shoot it. How did it respond, when it took off was the tail up or down, was it running like it was hit. All tell tale signs.

If you want to sight it in you may want to look at lose powder where you can move in 5 grain increments to get the optimum load for it

tell your office mates to take up hunting if they like it as they have no clue how hard it is to get one.

My stance on this it may as well be legal as most "hunters already do it anyway. But of course the already cheaters will cheat then too and make it 45 minutes on each end. It is also my stance that if we need to wear orange to be seen during these hours, then it is not light enough.

can you stand in thick woods and read that paper? I seriousy doubt it.
