  1. I was at the local gun shop yesterday looking at rifles. I had a savage axis in 243 in my hands. Loved the feel even though the trigger pull is a little heavy, but workable. I ordered one in 7-08. I wish I had just grabbed the 243. Would have been fun getting reloading stuff for a new caliber. Maybe I will get the 243 if I really like the 7-08
  2. once you get a routine, it becomes less scattered.
  3. so does land taxes posted signs etc. If they mistake them oh well.
  4. it is the new found sense of entitlement. Wont be long the govt will take all our land and make it so everyone can be on it anyway so get used to it I am afraid
  5. welcome I am in the Ogdensburg area. sure is addicting
  6. ahh yes the old go find soem real criminal line. I have been waiting for it
  7. welcome from another norther new yorker.
  8. and be sure to follow the procedures that go along with signing it over, so you do not get in trouble for having it.
  9. umm if it is a bogus ticket as inferred, the judge keeps them in check. They throw it out. A record is kept of every dismissed ticket to include the reason and the writing officer. This report goes to the police agency supervisors for their records also. Too many bogus tickets, and the officer is talked to about it. If you had insurance and got a ticket for not and it was dismissed for the reason, it was a bogus ticket, sue the police agency and the officer, and get your money back. If the ticket held up in court after you could prove proof of insurance, then you are screwed. I am curious to find out how a bogus o insurance ticket cost you your job. If this is the way it was, send me a pm, I will send you in the direction to make it right.
  10. no no when this happened to me, I was told to let them hunt form there, and be a good neighbor. HelI was even called names. If it were me, I would not wait for answers here, It would be gone already.
  11. it is not a judges place to tell an officer about his tactics. It is the judges job to decide if the ticket was warranted.
  12. two different deer. one is standing up one lying down lol
  13. ok pull out one sentence and run with it. Does this one work better. Stopped because I have a tail light out?
  14. As far as my encounters, they have been positive. I deal with them on a different level than most. Both in hunter ed classes and court. However, if I meet them n the woods, or fishing, I treat them with the respect due for doing their jobs. But since I do not break the laws, and can prove I am not with such silly things as making sure my gun is unloaded, or my bow is disabled at the end of legal hunting hours, I have no reason to be worried. Granted, I doubt they would put the hammer on me, but with the same as the police officers I deal with stopped me for speeding, I would expect the ticket. You get what you give. The funny part of all these types of posts is in every scenario, the dec officer is expected to over look the laws and give everyone a break, or if they get a ticket ask the judge to give them a break. . Umm no obey the laws, there is no need to give anyone a break. Tow guys who have been hunting at my camp went down to 8j to hunt last week. They came home with a handful of tickets to include loaded gun in a vehicle and having an untagged deer in the vehicle. The first thing they whined to me this weekend was the officer was young and a prick. I said did you ave loaded guns in the truck and did you have an untagged deer. The response was yes but, umm there is no but. Break the law expect the tickets. You have to give respect to get respect.
  15. I would think buying the license removes the worry, and it is cheaper than the ticket. Common sense is not so common I guess.
  16. i would be on the ground today for sure
  17. bubba

    need ml help

white hot pellets are 777 pellets without the color. They are know for causing a crud ring. Swab after every shot as mentioned.
  18. here it is the officers. They write down tag numbers then check for reporting later and ticket you if you havent
  19. the reason is so the tag does not get ripped of handling the deer.
  20. you are wrong. I never heard all I heard cut funding and grow it is big bird not elmo on the table
  21. and just because the 22 year old drove them there does not mean he was with them if he turned them loose. Plus I believe he will need to be a relative. They broke the law regardless if you agree with it or not
  22. you may want to go back and read. No one said it was going to be unsafe for the youth during the youth hunt. Everyone expected to get shot by the inexperienced youth who were sitting with an adult.
  23. so if a youth takes the initiative and takes a 5 hour course, should he be able to drive alone before he is trained?
