  1. will they join a sport or join an everyone gets a trophy waste of time? Big difference
  2. what is wrong in the schools is the liberal agenda being passed on. No sense in going the govt will take care of you anyway. How much emphasis is there on learning when they are there, very little. All higher education did for my daughters was turn them into flaming libs. The newest thing being taught to kindergarten kids is the story of Robin hood robbing from the rich and giving to the poor. They are indoctrinating them early now. New teachers are not going to change the agenda or curriculum they have to teach. A co worker said her sons kindergarten class spent a week talking about Robin hood. Before the election they were taught BHO was a good guy because he played basketball and Mitt ate tree bark. And you wonder why the schools have gone to hell. The school board can not change the curriculum for the state. Home school is the answer.

    First deer!

congrats elmo nice job. Many more to come.
  4. there is a simple way to see if a gun fits you. Pull the gun and find a target on the wall. Look through the scope or sights. Close both eyes and open them back up. If the gun stays on the target the gun fits you. If not you need to adjust.
  5. I have a youth stock on my nef 25-06 and my new savage axis. They fit me better and are more comfortable to shoot. I found that if you have a scope, I had to change mounts to an extension set to get the scope far enough forward on the nef. I bought used stocks on another site at a good price for the nef.
  6. Ok I guess my question is why do we need both to be safe if the light is so good then?
  7. OK maybe you were not in the best state of mind when you typed this one. I read NEW TEACHERS. I ask how that will make it better you answer going to board meetings and making teachers accountable. Still a big disconnect there. Which is the solution you propose. I know you have tried to side step it by inferring I am thick headed, but I am simply trying to sort out what you have said is all.
  8. I ask for nothing, and then I am never disappointed. If I want something I buy it like a lot here.
  9. So let me see if I have captured the logic. You can see fine one half hour before sunrise and one half hour after sunset. But you want to have everyone wear orange so you don't shoot them during these times of less than perfect light. Something there just does not add up to me. Makes me think you are nervous that you can not see as well as claimed, and want me to make you safer during a higher risk time of hunting. Does that about sum it up?
  10. ok so the answer is going to the school board not new teachers? Why could you not go to the school board wad do the same with the current teachers? Sounds to me like you have someone you know looking for a teacher job.
  11. teaching class not offered by the dec such as a supplemental muzzleloader class in not illegal. I have been asked a few times to teach one for profit. I turned it down. The bad part is them saying it is mandatory and have to do so every year.
  12. I left mine in until 4:21 PM today. Then I shot it off, and now I have to go clean it It has been loaded since early ml season here in mid October. It went off with no problems.
  13. No problem. I have heard of places doing just that. And it is iegal to offer a specialized course for money, just not mandatory
  14. there is no muzzleloader class and there is no talk of having one at this time. Muzzleloader is taught in the hunter ed class, and will stay there. If anyone tells you you need a ml class, they are lying, or trying to pilfer some money to teach a bogus class. When I started teaching hunter ed 25 years ago, they talked about it then and it fizzled out.
  15. Mossberg 835. I do not use a shotgun for deer, bit for upland birds and turkeys.
  16. I still do not see how bringing in new teachers is going to change anything. They still have to follow the curriculum set down to them. How about make the current teachers do their jobs as you think they should.
  17. The bottom line is hunting is a business regardless of the level you do it at. Someone somewhere is making money off hunting, whether it be in clothing ammo or gear. These shows have sensationalized it to the point that more than a few people buy into the idea that is real hunting. They idolize the people who are on these shows. And if they don't, they bring in musicians and other stars to get people to watch. I do find the shows entertaining, and that is all. The biggest problem I see from them is people want every day hunting to be the same as they see on tv. For instance, the arguments about antler restrictions, so they can see a wild buck like on tv. I see it in the kids that come to my classes wearing their bone collector t-shirts and hats. Listen to them talk, and they think in a half hour, you can walk out sit down and shoot a monster. Then when reality sets in, they get bored. Just remember it is a business and as long as people will shell out the big money to go on these "hunts" people will continue to sell these "hunts". It is truly one reason that I got away from T/C products. They basically supply a lot of the gear for most of these guys. They lay off workers and sell the company over hard times, but they still make sure all their tv guys are are geared up. I simply choose to get away from a company that prostitutes itself out like that. But if people choose to pay that money and go forth and shoot a deer like that, so be it. There is nothing we can or should do about it. If the shows upset you that much and you feel that strongly about it, turn the channel.
  18. who is lucky enough to just have to work 40 a week? I cant remember my last 40 week unless I take a day off.
  19. or just ignore them and move on.
  20. a lot of guys attitude
  21. so how will new teachers stop practies unions and administrators have embraced for years?
  22. and the majority of these kids can barely write. Basics first.
  23. nah they can all see perfect before sunrise. must have bionic eyes is all i can figure. A bit off topic I know but if they want to move the hours eliminate scopes so you have to identify your target with the naked eye. 44 and higher mm reticles make it really easy to cheat even if you are looking at a person in the scope to identify your target
