This is true.
I am just trying to figure out what the post is about. A vent from an aggravated hunter? A serious question about relocating deer? Or about political spending on the topics brought up?
all three???

If that were true there wouldn't be a problem with hunters complaining there are no deer... most are not committed enough to travel to hunt deer. Most aren't even inclined to leave their treestand when they aren't seeing deer. I have always contended that what most consider low deer populations is just personal bad hunting practices and an inability to see the deer that are present in the area.
I'm guilty of some of what you said....have a house in the zone we hunt, not moving or travelling just to kill more deer...I can do that on L.I. at home, I also know there are mature deer in our hunting areas Upstate, don't have the time or devotion to put towards killing them exclusively, nowadays I get more enjoyment out of just getting up there into the fresh air and away from this rat race on The Island......I'm well aware of what the problem is and could fix it if it were that important......phew! I feel better getting that off my chest

I never thru DEC into to begin with so let's take that thought and throw it out
oh. thought you did....I said "believe it or not, deer really aren't that important in the Grand Scheme of things........." and you responded with "jjb4900 - if deer aren't important at the time being then what does the DEC do all day"......and since it was about deer and you said ".jjb4900 - they manage all wild life and bust business owners balls like mine".....I figured DEC played into it somehow......my apologies.

oysters are the best and there are some mushrooms that stop your body from producing the chemical that de alchaholizes alchahol so you could get alchahol poisoning also yes you should always cut a mushroom not pull it and it will usually grow back
looks like you ate a couple of those along with having a few cocktails to boot...........

.jjb4900 - they manage all wild life and bust business owners balls like mine
oh, well I knew they did something important.....thanks for the detailed clarification. Do they have a lot to do with gay marriage, welfare, health care and whatever else was thrown into this thread, or no? wait, I left out marijuana...

I don't know much about crossbows, but are you gaining that much more by using that instead of a compound?
-
.jjb4900 - if deer aren't important at the time being then what does the DEC do all day
you certainly don't believe that all the DEC does is manage deer, do you? and some others were throwing Human issues into the mix, that's what I was referring to.

probably more than one bison has fallen to a recurve bow......I think you'll be fine if you tweek your setup just a little.
-
Please explain your knock down power theory?
I think it's just like regular power, but when applied properly has the ability to knock something down........maybe?

In reality we are not all that brutal compared to Mother Nature.
not even close....we all hate to see any animal suffer, but it's not worth it to me to stick my neck out and get in trouble.....or worse, break a heel or get a pull in my stocking.

turn your bow up to 65-70lbs if possible, get a cut on contact broadhead and maybe a heavier arrow if needed and go for it......if shooting the Bison is free, it would be worth the small expense of those couple things......I can't imagine a 50 Cal Hawken with roundball being much better then the archery setup.

keep him...can't be much difference between having 2 or 3 cats.

I always said I would use my CCW to put it out of its misery but the more I think about it, the more trouble it could get me into. I would just call the police or DEC and be on my way. I personally don't have any desire for a roadkill deer, as being stated above... seems to be more work than it's worth most of the time.
yeah, but for some odd reason, after reading countless threads on this forum about "what would you do?".........deer seem to make people want to teeter on the brink of doing silly stuff. I don't lose too much sleep about the every day horrors that deer face......

what does the owner think? I'm sure he has had all types come with different weapons to kill them.
-
Do either or your husbands hunt? lol
he does not...he is usually home cooking and cleaning.

Im not going near the deer with a knife or crowbar and risking getting kicked.
me neither, no way I'm risking personal injury for something like that.
-
possession is 9 tenths of the law .
I can't find that in any law books, can you direct me to where that is?..........I believe it's just an expression, usually found right next to "finders keepers, losers weepers".
-
maybe you lost it?................my guess is if you explained to them what happened they would NOT give you another tag. I'll assume you called the tag in and reported the kill, your outta luck if you ask me.

this past summer I flushed a mother and about a dozen young ones.......never seen that before, I just wonder how many actually make it to adulthood. I see a fair amount (4W & 4R)......just never get around to hunting them since I usually focus on deer and don't want to stomp around the area.
Hit by car deer/ what would you do ?
