The guy who bumped me , announced he's retiring the 28th after 42 yrs with the company. LOL So if the company post his job I can bid on it and maybe move back in to my old spot. But , I tell ya my new job is 4-10 hr days 2nd shift Sunday - Wed. and I'm out wandering around not struck in a computer boiler room @ 12 hour shots. Don't know what I'll do now might have to flip a coin, I sure hate getting up at 4am to be to work at 5am. But the 3/4 days on 12 hr shift gives me 7 days off once a month. I'm sure we'll see the state agencies start whining the people can't be serviced or protected due to cuts. LOL Sad pat is if the taxpayers are not working or have had wages cut the state will see a loss in revenue. Somethings gotta go, looks like some lean years ahead for government in general.

I was bumpped from my job back in Sept. Not th e1st time either. My Mother worked for the state and she was bumped several times. Let the hard feelings begin! Sent: Monday, November 08, 2010 3:17 PM Subject: Reduction in force (layoffs) At this morning's DEC Executive staff / Regional Director / Division Director meeting, we were further briefed on the current status of DEC's layoff plan: - DEC Executive staff met with Union representatives last Friday (11/5) afternoon and discussed the current status of DEC's workforce reduction plan. - DEC's plan has not been finalized, but should be submitted to DOB this afternoon (11/8) or tomorrow morning - DEC will send out letters to affected staff and potentially affected staff (via seniority and horizontal/ vertical displacement (ie "bumping")) by the end of this week or early next week. These letters will be hand delivered to staff by Division Director, Regional Director or staff supervisor. Individuals will have one week to respond to the letter. - DEC is using the "one choice" method, based on seniority and the assumption that an affected (or potentially affected) individual will accept a "displacement" (move to another location/ position) instead of a layoff. In a nutshell, individuals will receive a letter that indicates their position is targeted (or may be via displacement by someone with greater seniority) and they have a choice to accept the layoff or accept the horizontal (or vertical) position indicated in the letter (ergo the "one choice"). - Staff receiving a letter will have one week to respond to DEC personnel indicating their choice (lay-off or other position). - Based on the responses to the one choice letter, there may be other scenarios that will play out (e.g. if a more senior person opts for retirement or a lay-off instead of the other position), and these may be discussed via telephone or other more rapid communication with DEC Personnel Office. - On December 10, all staff affected by the layoff will receive a letter confirming such. - All staff being laid off will be off the payroll effective cob 12/31/2010. Additional points: - No one at DEC has actually gone through this layoff/ bumping scenario before (certainly not at this scale) so we are proceeding very cautiously and double-checking to make sure that affected/ potentially affect individuals are properly notified, and no one is unnecessarily being notified - All DEC staff were asked in Spring 2009 to confirm their seniority from the seniority list provided by Civil Service and there has been few new hires since that time - Anyone questioning their seniority should contact DEC Personnel and discuss - For each targeted position, there are approximately 3 letters being sent out due to seniority and horizontal/ vertical bumping scenarios. Therefore, for the approximately 150 targeted positions, approximately 400 - 450 staff will receive a letter. This is a most difficult time for all DEC and other New York State agency staff. The uncertainty with these workforce reductions and who / how individuals will be affected coupled with the recent loss of staff via retirements and the pending Holiday season pose significant challenges to us all. Now, more than ever, we need to be supportive of each other. I have tried to disseminate this fairly widely to DFWMR staff, but please share with others I may have missed. Doug

Fellow firearms owners & sportsmen! Mike has fought for our Second amendment rights for many years. He has fought against micro-stamping , COBIS & is "our" Senator who stands up to those on the other side of our values. We have to hold our slim majority in the NY Senate, if we loose our very slim majority you can guarantee NY states Legislative leaders will redistrict the state..and to be blunt; if you think we're getting short change now~ well you get the picture! Regards, "BlackPowder" Bill www.blackpowderbill.com ======================== SENATE CANDIDATE Ed O'Shea Opposes Your SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS! State Senate candidate Ed O'Shea, a liberal college professor, wants to restrict your Constitutional right to bear arms. Ed O'Shea has explicitly stated that he supports: · Wasteful and outrageous micro stamping for law-abiding gun owners; · New intrusive restrictions on purchasing firearms; · More unnecessary regulations on law-abiding gun owners; Please take the time to exercise your right to vote on Tuesday, November 2nd and help defeat Ed O'Shea - a liberal Democrat and Working Families Party candidate who wants to take away one of your most fundamental American rights - the right to bear arms! Senator Mike Nozzolio has earned our support. He opposes any effort to restrict our Second Amendment Rights. Senator Mike Nozzolio has always received the highest ratings from the National Rifle Association (NRA) and Shooters Committee on Political Education (SCOPE), and was awarded this month as PATRIOT of the YEAR by the Wayne County Division of SCOPE. Senator Nozzolio has been honored in the past as “Legislator of the Year” by the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. Please vote for Senator Mike Nozzolio on Election Day, Tuesday, November 2nd P.S. Please share this message with others who are as concerned as you are about preserving and protecting your 2nd Amendment Rights.

A former USFW director told a group of sporting association leaders in 2004 we wern't showng up when needed. A few years earlier a former HSUS VP told me and others sportsmen were going to have their ass's handed to them in 4 years. A DEC employee told trappers they needed to get with it in 2004. I was told about 15 years ago by a DEC employee the S was gonna hit the fan in a few years. Hang on boys! Cause the newest money grab scheme is about to take off with your cash. You ain't seen no fraud like the green movement will bring to the table. You can kiss what's left of any industry in NY good-by.

The question to ask is: Where were all the sportsmen while this was going on the last 40 years? The CFAB has raised the red flag many times over the years. It's been on going of for some time now~ I sat in a meeting sportsman's last week and a guy asked Senator Mike Nozzolio if he was a Dem or Rep. I almost bit my lip off no responding.

Sent: Friday, October 22, 2010 12:18 PM To: Subject: Message from President Howard Cushing regarding Pete Grannis I am sure most of you know by now that Governor Paterson has dismissed Commissioner Pete Grannis. Most of the issues surrounding this latest development within DEC stem from Commissioner Grannis’ willingness to stand up to the Governor and tell the truth about cutbacks and layoffs requested by the Governor and how they would impact the agency. Although times are tough, there is a very real possibility that DEC will be gutted or worthless should all the cutbacks and changes come to pass. I have a very deep concern that the Department of Budget or the Governor will be looking at the Conservation Fund as a cash cow; and if they think they are going to touch the Conservation Fund under my watch, they are underestimating the lengths I and the Council will go to not to let that happen. If necessary, we will file a lawsuit to keep the Conservation Fund intact and do whatever needs to be done to protect it. I hope you will support us in these efforts.

None of the Remington 700 actions I shot in the Navy malfunctioned & they saw lots more action than hunting once a year. My 700 action now works fine and it has a 50 year old 721 barrel attached to it
-
According to a news report I just saw CNBC never contacted Remington and the whole show was from an anti view point. The cases they spoke about no one ever contacted Remington. Other or former news bits about Remington problems were a result of trigger modifications and owner neglect. This is an old story , very old brought back to life by lame stream media just as hunting season opens across the states. This will generate thousands of calls to Remington , their by wasting time and effort on real customers service issues. CNBC does this every year at just about the same time.

Does Palladino have a chance?
bpb replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Sen. Mike Nozzolio spoke at the Wayne cty SCOPE meeting last night. Where he was give the SCOPE Patriot Award. He remarked if the Dems win or still hold a tie or majority in the senate we can expect the state to be re-districted. You can guarantee that anything east of the Hudson will control the entire states elections and we'll never be able to hold off any infringements. end +++ IMHO There is no choice, you either vote 2amendment or spend the rest of your life hiding in shame. Their were whole bunch of sportsmen who voted for Dope and Chains 2 yrs ago. They bragged about it openly and now they are hiding in shame. Many people I speak with don't even vote. I can not see wasting another year working for sportsmen when they refuse to vote, join and or support then call or email me whining. I'll say it again: There is no choice, you either vote 2amendment or spend the rest of your life hiding in shame. BPB -

Okay, here ya go you stomped and cried now make those calls. As you know, an individual accessed legally licensed pistol permit owners’ names and addresses from the New York State Police and then put the information out to the public on a website. The NYSCC has FOILed the NYS Police to find out who is responsible for this inappropriate action. We are seeking legislation to close the gap to an existing law amended in 1994 (subdivision 5 of section 400.00 of the Penal Law) which allows disclosure only of the name and address of the approved applicant. Senate Bill 8456 introduced by Senator Joseph Griffo would help correct this atrocity. On October 4, 2010 President Cushing got Senator Roy McDonald to also sign onto this landmark legislation. Senator McDonald issued the following statement: “Due to the reckless and short-sighted actions of websites on the Internet, everyone has the ability to access the New York State Police pistol or revolver permit registry and all of the names and addresses of legal firearms owners. Police agencies across the state are powerless to prevent criminals from utilizing this information for their own purposes. Criminals can now tell whether a household is protected or not. Most disturbing is what the exposure of this information does to individuals who may have been victims of spousal or sexual abuse.” The NYSCC urges you to contact the following legislators and thank them for their support; hopefully we can get more legislators to sign on. The work has only begun; we need a compatible bill in the Assembly and then must have it signed by the Governor. Contact and say “thanks” to the following for sponsoring S 8456: Senator Joseph Griffo 518/455-3334 phone William Larkin 518/455-2770 phone Betty Little 518/455-2811 phone Senator Michael Nozzol 518/455-2366 phone Roy McDonald 518/455-2381 phone Regards,Howard O. Subject: Good News! From the NYSCC The NYS Conservation Council has some good news to report! We have just learned that Gordon Batcheller has been appointed Chief of the Bureau of Wildlife for the Department of Environmental Conservation. He will be filling the vacancy resulting from Dr. John Major’s retirement. It is great to know that we have a sportsman at heart watching over one of our Bureaus. Gordon will be a great asset to the sporting community, and we look forward to working with him.

I see no difference between a pile of corn or a planted food plot. Both are artificial feeding areas.

300 yards is not enough distance for large shot. A typical trap/skeet field has,(SHOULD have); a fallout safety distance of 300 yards. Larger shot will travel farther. You should not shoot in the direction of a structure unless it is beyond the 500yd mark.

So much for separation of church and state. It would be a cold day in anyplace when I sit home to watch a ball game over hunting or shooting. -

Didn't I beat that article in a bloody pulp several times before! Dang it has more fight than Bruce Wills does. LMAO Oh yea, its the food and not the selective lab breeding. -
Thinking that an animal is like a human is the first sign of weakness the antis look for in their fight to turn us against each other. Welcome to the Bambi syndrome.
