Thanks for the comments everyone! I guess this is just the kind of stuff that a man dreams up while staring at a pile of antlers, waiting for more snow to melt so he can get back out there to find more. I looked at my little key chains today, and felt like something was missing, so I broke out the Dremel tool and got busy. I'm not a bone carver by any means, but I can draw a pretty decent deer track, so away I went, lol Also learned some new patterns for the braided sections, and ordered a variety of new cordage colors to kill some time if winter lingers on any longer! What do you guys think.... cool or corny?

I might sell a few, but I gotta get some more paracord first. Hopefully I have enough antlers, lol

After reading the post yesterday about papabear losing his keys..., it got me thinking. I bet we'd be able to find them easier if they looked like antlers! So last night I watched some you tube vids on paracord survival bracelets and started tying a few things up for myself. This one was my own original brainstorm that I came up with and finished this morning with some of those old sawed off antlers from those little deadheads I like to collect. Now that I've got the technique down, I'm flying through these babies like a little old lady knitting a blanket, lol Been making keychains, zipper pulls for my pack, bracelets, and I have a few other things in mind. Here's an ATL of what it might look like if you drop your keys!

Looks like my neighbors work van. He was under the impression it was a wedding cake delivery van before he bought it. Boy is he gonna be pizzed when he finds out that's not a frosting stain on the seat, lol

It was just a matter of time before the tree rats found those tastey antlers! Good rescue! He'll look great cleaned up.

Congrats on the set erussell! Always nice when you find them two at a pop, side by side! Makes moving on to the next area a little easier. Sometimes I get too hung up trying to match up a single and have to remind myself there's other antlers out there waiting for me,lol. No luck out there today. I really thought we would have lost more snow than we did with this little warm up, but there's still enough to hide the average antler I'm used to finding. Since I couldn't find any antlers on the ground, I looked up for a change of scenery, and spotted this mummy skull hanging in a tree! Looks like Sam has moved into my area..

I think my favorite bullhead hole has a "don't eat the fish" clause attached to it by the DEC,lol I'll pass on the bottom feeders from there!

I think zag has a pretty good chance of beating me this year himself! I'm not panicking YET... but I am starting to get a little nervous! We'll see if anything turns up today in another favorite spot of mine. Thanks everyone!

Awesome John! There's no such thing as a little 6pt side, so I believe you when you say that antler is a beast! Congrats on your career biggest shed, and a great weekend haul!

Dang- I'd of been happy with just the turtle shell and balloons the way this seasons going, lol! Real good take home from the Ohio trip Sam. Nice score catching up with a couple target bucks. Those guys are impressive, and I can't decide which one I like more! Hope you can grind out a few more back on home turf soon!

I've been seeing these guys all over the place lately. Watched 3 of them mousing around the edge of the corn field during todays hike. This guy finally worked his way over towards me and gave me a few shots! ... and a barred owl from a couple days ago!

3-17-14 Hey guys, remember me! It's been a really bad winter for antlers here. Every time I think we're gonna get a break, we get buried again. Today I finally got out to do some hiking despite still having too much snow to be too serious about finding anything. I hit a stand of pines along a corn field edge just because it was sunny out.... I at least needed to try. Not far into the pines I spotted tines, and it looked like it was gonna be a good one from what I could see of it! This thing was a pig, with some wicked long main beams! I don't find antlers like this every day! I was freakin' pumped, but a little pissed the antler rats had got to it so quick even though it was still covered up pretty good. I shot up and down the trails looking for the mate but couldn't find it on any of those paths. I circled around and did a run along the edge of the corn, but didn't find anything besides a friendly fox that posed for a few pics. I admired my sweet find for the day and decided to start heading out. Along the way I cut over to another hemlock island when I saw something odd. It didn't look like an antler.... more like a leg bone, but I went over to check it out any ways. Son of a gun! It was an antler and turns out to be the mate to my 1'st antler of the day! Those friggin antler rats chewed the base completely off this one already. Man, was I pissed when I saw this. I couldn't believe all the squirrels I was seeing in here. Few shots of #3 + #4 together! Calling for 40's for the rest of the week, so maybe that will help knock a little bit more of this snow back. Adding another dead buck and 3 more dead antlerless to the totals as well. Antlers- 4 Sets- 1 Dead bucks- 4 Dead doe/fawns- 8

Nobody's getting the personalized plates? "FUQUOMO"

Looks great Big Indian! That always makes it a little more satisfying when you take part in every step of bringing that trophy from the field, right to the wall!

Sorry to hear you lost a buddy Lawd.

Grand Island Student Suspended for wearing NRA tee shirt.

Guess I'll be the first to say it sounds like the school took fair action to me. Schools aren't the place for kids to advertise their personal affiliations when it comes to hot topic issues. I doubt this kid was an evil threat to anybody, or had any violent intentions of his own towards any of his classmates or staff. My point is, maybe the kid with the locker next to him has a very strong opposing opinion of the NRA, or guns in general, based on a tragic personal life experience or some other crazy crap. Maybe this is the kid with the deeper psychological issues that schools don't want to see "trigger the violence". I'd rather see them address it in this manner, rather than listen to excuses after another school tragedy that could have been avoided over something as silly as what was printed across another students t-shirt. Kids shouldn't go to school dressed as billboards of current affairs....but hey, that's JMO! -
Had one gobbling at the video set up yesterday! Love that this cam has sound for these guys. Click pic for clip..

Maybe the guy rode his motorcycle and had to boogy home to hook up the side car.

I was expecting to see a LOT more turkey stuff with spring right around the corner. I doubt I need to go again for another 10-15yrs. I still managed to find a few things I "had to have",lol I also ran into forum member Tinlodge at the New York Crossbow Coalition booth, so it was nice to finally put a face to the name, and see him there promoting a good cause!

Anyone heading to the show this week? I haven't been there in about 10 years so I think I'm gonna hit it Saturday to look around.

Then I guess this is more serious offence than I originally thought. Looks like I'll see you all on the playground after class. Don't forget to bring me your lunch money, lol <<<<<< is that better!^^^
