I never said Belo did this.

Mike, excuse me for admittedly not being all caught up in the politico terminology of what you just said here. Are you saying that hunter input was really not an issue taken into consideration without a respected organizations backing? That's what I'm reading, and looking for an honest answer to.
-
If your spooking deer while drawing and still taking the shot, then that's unethical. Sometimes you just have to let them walk as a lot of us like to say... X-bows take that movement factor out of the equation, so I believe it'll make hunters more ethical.

Here's another fact: Most guys will agree a x-bow to be a cross between a gun AND a bow soooo..... Why not have x-bow ONLY season, while getting rid of the archery, ML, and regular firearms season entirely! Combine the best of both worlds into one, and no one will have anything to bitch about! I always new there had to be some kind of middle ground that would appeal to us all. I gotta go send me another letter now to my buddy Mr. C. to see if he can pull any strings to bring us all back together here, lol

Thanks guys! I've found matching antlers touching before, but I've never seen two antlers dropped so perfectly symetrical like that!

Call it what you will...... I'm sure in a few years you'll be able to look back and laugh at this experience. Who knows, as easy as you got off, you may be doing that already. I doubt your neighbor wants to see you with a caulk gun in your hands at this point, so I really wouldn't push the issue of repairing this mess without hiring a professional.

4-3-14 I had some time to kill today, so I decided I better get another hike in before we get snowed on again! I shot up to the power lines and did a run down the wooded edges. It didn't take long before I spotted my first antler of the day! Just a little oldie 4pt so I wasn't overly excited but it would do. I wasn't planning on hiking long anyhow, so I figured I head for home. I headed out the same way I went in but decided to go around a thicket instead of going through it like I did on the way in. When I got around the side and looked up, I saw this little guy staring back at me! Now I was pumped and ready to hike on! I shot up to the orchard and soon as I got there I spotted a horn. I had to look closely because it turned out to be two horns ALMOST touching! Match 6pt! Probably close to one of my favorite set ATL's now ever! From above just as they layed! That was it for the day! Still lots of snow in the woods, but the rain on the way should take care of that soon. I need about 10 more hikes like this to salvage the season! Also adding another dead doe and scooped up another little old skull. Here's the days haul! Antlers- 9 Sets- 2 Dead bucks- 4 Dead doe/fawns- 11

Unbelievable is all I got to say! Did you have ANY experience whatsoever shooting a bow, or any weapon for that matter before this? Honest question. Edit***- never mind, I see you have.
-
Man, that's a real nice set! Great color and no chews make it even better this time of year! Sweet find landtracdeerhunter!
-
No sarcasm from me. I could relate to what you were saying from the start of this post. You didn't hurt my feelings none.
-
Hey stubby- you really are a pretty smart guy after all!
-
Oh I'm sure there will be plenty of antlerless hitting the ground as well...especially the first few seasons. I bet there will be a lot of guys like myself looking to get that first kill under their belts with a new weapon. Horns or not, guys will be out there with their x-bows with the same mixed harvest criteria shared by the vertical bow and gun shooters. At least that's the way I see it playing out.

Because once we start tipping over the biggest bucks in the forest, there's gonna be a lot of whooping and hollering going on.
-
Just don't mention to him there's only 2 individual letters but 3 separate letters in "pop"- tard! He'll just get confused more than he already is!
-
Guess I just took it too personally. Anyone that knows me, knows damn straight there ain't no BS hiding behind a typical hunter profile, and I invest more time into the outdoors than many could ever hope to. Seeing I already own a x-bow and plan to spend a ton of time becoming proficient with it, I thought you were stereotyping me into the same category as these slobs you know. Don't do that, lol
-
I haven't been called a "Tard" since 3'rd grade, lmao That was pretty harsh man, but it does explain the level of competition we're up against here!
-
I'm cool with that if you are!
-
Ok then....don't say it. Once you get out of the shadow of your big bro and get a mind of your own, you'll do just fine! I'm sure the overwhelming majority would agree.
-
Hogwash! Tell me about these slobs... if you know so much about them, they must be pretty close to you. I think like a lot of guys here, you're just talkin' out your tailpipe now...
-
....and how did you come to this conclusion?
-
That's a popular opinion you are likely to see in the not so distant future. Once everyones buddy's start dragging home the lunkers by the horns, there will be a lot of compounders "x'ing over". Just wait and see. A lot of guys here transparent as glass!

I think you two should grow up.

I jumped into bow hunting, blind, and self taught. My first bow was a PSE Polaris Express and I killed a whole mess of deer with it. I know this will sound crazy, but it was probably the most accurate bow I've ever hunted with, and the one I built the most confidence with. It's also the bow I killed the most deer with. A lot of different compound brands passed through my hands in between the time I decided to give a "hand me down" recurve a try a few years ago. I thought I'd prepared enough before my first hunt but apparently not. The first deer I shot at with my Bear Kodiak ran off with the arrow sticking out of her side a little high, and too far back. I never found her, but given the extent of my post season hiking, I believe she survived that encounter and continued on munching on clover somewhere, or ended up in somebody elses freezer later on that season. I went back to and purchased a new compound a few days later because I was so disgusted with the results of my traditional endeavor there was no way I was about to take another stab at it without sights, speed, and confidence I had built with a compound. So to answer the question of why I reverted back to compound is simple for me. My first experience was failure to cleanly kill a deer at a range (7yds) I could have hit her over the head with a stick from the ground. I did however take home with me a new appreciation for how close I was able to allow my quarry too get and try to carry that over the best I can during my compound hunts these days. As far as the "traditional" aspect of my guns over the years. I started scoped, and went back to iron sights, then back to scoped again on my shotty's and ML's. I've lost a few deer over the years to both methods of aiming, but I've always felt in no way, shape, or form, that I never took my best shot and had any regrets...stuff happens. Oh and, just for the record..... I'll be waiting for those close encounters as well with my scoped x-bow this year, lol

YIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Victory at last! It will be nice to see the infighting finally cease, lol!
