  1. Dear Lindy, We're afraid there has been a terrible mix up in the orders followed out by our administration in your termination yesterday. We would like to offer you you'r job back as head coach of the Buffalo Sabres effective immediately. On second thought..., we would like to offer you an advanced oppertunity as General Manager upon our immediate firing of Darcy Regeir from his current position. That new direction we spoke of upon your release aint working out so good. We'd like to see you around the organization another 16yrs and are willing to offer you a lucrative contract as well as any other requests you may have that you feel necessary to get the job done! Here's a list of what we'd like to offer you: - the return of "The Dominator" -the return of the "Angry Goat" jeseys -free beer and popcorn at all home games -a 2 week Carnival cruize vacation for you and your family! -a reversal of the "No Goal" decision and one free do-over! - full pay for Thursdays game @ Toronto. - Birthdays OFF! (even if it's just someone you know) -pizza parties after every victory Sorry for the inconvenience.., hit us up if interested, Thanks in advance, we're sorry, truely yours, sincerely, BFF, we F'ed up, TTYL, Your friends, Terry Pegula and The Buffalo Sabres Fans
  2. In case anyone hasn't noticed, there's a line of seperation here between "hunters" and "anglers" with this proposal. A fisherman has no need for a hunting licence so what does he care about fighting the hunters battles. Slowly chipping away at dividing outdoorsman and woman for the benefit of having a less unified group to fight against is all this boils down to.
  3. Ha- brilliant smoke screen to hide behind, while the dust is still settling from the first bomb he dropped!
  4. Step on the other side and buy a new one!
  5. I don't think it's the walkers they're talking about Joe. Every year it seems a local story hits the news here about guys on sleds or quads getting decapitated by unseen fencing. I know they're not supposed to be there, but intentionaly set boobey traps can get ya in a lot of trouble you don't want or need.
  6. Haven't seen anything real fresh around here lately, but with some bucks still packing, it wouldn't surprise me none. Any shavings at the base of those rubs? They can be a better indicator of age of the rub than the rub itself.
  7. Hehe- only if you bring back those old mad Goat jerseys, lol
  8. Yep- we'll see if the shake-up is enough to kick start them in the upcoming game against TO. Heck- any one of us could be behind the bench for this one and expect them to be fueled by the rivalry alone....who knows.
  9. Something had to give. Never seen such an unmotivated group of guys on the ice than this years team. I don't think a coaching change will do much for them. You can't coach desire to a team who's heart isn't in it.
  10. Haha, what a great idea! I would however be a bit worried that your "buddies" may one day be discovered as fakes and peppered with gunshot. Future hunts in that location may make you the "dumby" (no offence) next time your trespassing friends pass through and it really is YOU standing there. I know it sounds like something you shouldn't have to worry about on your own propperty, but who knows what gets a rise out of some guys. I've seen bullet holes in a lot of different things while out and about. Makes you wonder if anything is really off limits out there in some folks minds.
  11. Do they keep the skeeters off your feeters, lol
  12. Looks like he's gotta pee real bad... probably just looking for a tree to water without a posted sign on it. Tell me THAT wouldn't pizz ya off if you found yellow snow under one of your yellow signs, lol
  13. Lol- Just trying to cut down on my cooking time Sam! I think it smells worse once you start boiling it to tell ya the truth. Everything was still pretty frozen, so it kept the stink down.
  14. Hey, that'll work! Way to use your thinker Joe! They'll never know what hit 'em!
  15. I had a little time to spare today, so I decided to correct my skull cut per suggestions. I think I'm pretty close to where I'm supposed to be, although I may need to straighten it up just a tad before it hits a plaque. Since I had it opened up, there was a good bit of cleaning up I got done on the interior as well. Not a hint of brains or nasal passages left. So far, so good... I think? I'll get him cooking sometime this week when I find time again. I think the hardest part is behind me at this point.
  16. I don't think this has been posted yet. Seems alot of hunters shooting themselves in the foot this year, but overall we're a pretty safe bunch. http://www.dec.ny.go...fetystats12.pdf
  17. With a sucess rate like that, it's pretty easy to understand why a lot of folks have a hard time finding sheds. A lot more to it than some realise. It's not as easy here in NY as some you-tube vids make it look out west. I couldn't even guesstimate my MPS (miles per shed), but I sure don't find them running in circles over the back 40 acre plot, lol
  18. I knew someone was gonna say that.. that's why I purposely wanted to point out she was nowheres near a road. To your second point erussell, I'll go back and let the air outta that dead fawn..,prop her back up on all fours in the field where the other deer have been gathering, and take a pic of them all together. If you can tell me which ones are healthy, which ones are sick, and which one is dead, I'll be impressed! My point is, these recent dead deer aren't dying of old age in case you couldn't tell. They're not popping up dead looking diseased and sick. It's not too terribly hard to rule out many other causes of death when you take a look around and investigate a bit. It's easy to say the deer we see on the hoof look to be in good shape untill they sink into the thicket and go belly up for no apparent reason. You tell me what's killing them off at this time of year and I'll gladly consider it as a possability.., but probably one I'll be able to prove unlikely. Joe- you gotta get out from in front of your computer! They're outside!
  19. You'll get the hang of it Cynthia. You spend enough time at it, and eventually you start to find out what works for ya! I got started on my own too, then when I got online and started talking with other guys about it, I learned a lot more than I thought I already knew! I did get out for a short hike at the end of the day today. No antlers, but as long as I'm posting here again I'll leave a few pics. I did find another really fresh bloated fawn 2 miles off the road. This is getting to be pretty common close to home. I can't wait to get back in the valley. Green up is a shed hunters worse enemy, but the deer here are really hurting, and it can't get here fast enough. I'll add her to the talley next time. A little further along I found this dead Red. Finaly near the end of my hike, I saw some live action!
  20. I just watched a few vids on that baby. Pretty darn sweet! That does seem to get 'em good and clean real quick. I'll have to put it on my wish list for next Christmas. I'd deffinately get plenty of use from something like that, but I'm afraid this skull gonna have to be done old school kettle and campfire style!
  21. Looks great Sam! Never heard of it, but I'll look it up.
  22. Thanks Water Rat, that buck I found with his rack tangled in the thicket VERY tight. I had to hack my way through and some additional brush cutting to get him free. He was in there much tighter than it appears in the pics. No doubt in my mind he died because he couldn't free himself...whether it was due to predation or exposure is unknown. Too fresh to be a statistic from hunting season by the time I found him. I'm just glad to have rescued him instead of him rotting away in the sticks. Well now you're my "go to" man if and when I get stumped. Good thing you caught me early enough before I did something I can't do over! I may still be able to come out of this with a blue ribbon!
