I have had good luck with the Nikon "prostaff" series.

I have a guy I trust. He charges $65 for basic cuts and vaccume seals it. Sausages and the likes are extra.

I carry orange flagging with me, helps tremendously. You guys that see green eyes around you, how often does this happen? I have tracked several at night and never experienced that.

1) yes 2) I think that is more for accuracy than safety. I could be wrong. 3) Both have mine have held their accuracy up to 8-10 shots with 777 pellets. 4) Depends. It's always best to clean them ASAP, but I have let mine go a couple days without any ill effects. 5) Keep flames and sparks away from the powder. Practice gun safety. And common sense goes a long way

We took a doe around 8:15am. Good sized and fun tracking job for my son. With two doe in the freezer, it is buck only for the rest of the season.

She was a big deer as far as dimensions go. And she had definitely nursed this year. She wasn't a fawn, and going by my experience not a yearling either. Thanks for the input though.

I contacted someone at the DEC region 7 wildlife division yesterday and left a detailed message. No call back yet. Assuming it will be next week before I get a call.

Her one eye was injured. It had a white opaque look to it. She seemed fine and was eating right before I shot her. It looked like she might have been still nursing

I shot her in northern Cayuga county. Unfortunately due to the warm weather, she is cut up and in the freezer already. I have all the meat separated, but the head is long gone. I believe the DEC needs brain tissue to test for cwd. Definitely a foolish mistake on my part.

I shot a doe Monday and she was really skinny. Her spine was almost protruding through her skin. I have never seen this in a doe, especially early season. Should I be concerned?
