  1. Here is my opinion about hi-capacity magazines. It is most likely the easiest part of a firearm to duplicate/modify/or get on the black market. When they say "only the outlaws would have guns" it applies even more so to hi-capacity magazines.
  2. Now that is the best plan I heard of... Many of the State lands are old growth, or mid growth...Do not provide enough cover/food for deer and other wildlife to really prosper. The tree huggers that want no logging/burning of State Land do not realize the benefits to wildlife that it has. (done in a responsible manner of course). Now we put out fires that would have burned thousands of acres at a time...When that was natures way of providing food for all those creatures...
  3. I cook stew meat...In a stew of course. I do not have a recipe for it..I just cut up the stew meat on the small side. I do not brown it first, I just put it in the crock pot with string beans, taters, carrots, a whole onion(diced) some diced garlic, some diced tomato, some dried basil, some water, a small can of beef stock or gravy. Add Salt and pepper. Cook on low over night...Delicious!
  4. Unfortunetly it is much more complicated than that.. Most of our oil comes from what we drill, Canada, and Mexico.. As long as oil is a commodity that is traded, it is all supply and demand...We would have to drill enough oil to impact the global supply. That would most likely be negligible.
  5. Les porcs en france sont grands. Mais le vin est bon et les femmes mieux.
  6. You must be joking..Right? Shall we fold or give up when we are attacked because it is "mature?" I do not even know where that comes from : If you can not tell the difference between war between nations, and terrorism...I dont know what to tell you. And this is 2011. We have even changed the way we fight wars...We are the most carefull nation in the world as far as taking out militants only, and not civilians. When will the leaders of Islam start to condemn violence??? Wake up! They just assume cut your head off as mine. They do not care how "innocent" you are.
  7. The US did not comit acts of terrorism against japan. It was war, and they attacked us. Terrorism- 1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes. 2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization. 3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government. Yeah, 10 years ago seems like a long time ago for some people. Not for me, it was like yesterday...And for the terrorists, they operate on a different time scale than the rest of the world..They wait and attack when they can. Do you know how many terrorist attacks have been thwarted in this country since 9/11? If you can forget about just the ones that failed or were thwarted by Law Enforcement, and were publicized, it still leaves thousands of terrorists killed by our armed forces in recent years. We took them out in the Afghanistan training camps. We took thouands of Al-Qaeda out in Iraq, that were mostly foreign fighters sent there for the jihad... How many terrorist attacks would there have been in this country? Many.. And the problem with the Muslims, (to the rest of the world) is that for the most part they are very quiet about terrorism..It might be a small percentage that are directly involved, but an even smaller percentage that outwardly condem them. Plus the fact on 9/11 they could be seen around the world dancing in the streets...What does that tell you?
  8. I have been using these for I guess about 5 years. They work well for me. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Shooting-Accessories/Hearing-Protection-Enhancement%7C/pc/104792580/c/104769180/sc/104381280/Howard-Leight-Impact8482-Sport-Earmuff/708113.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fshooting-shooting-accessories-hearing-protection-enhancement%2F_%2FN-1100232%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104381280%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253Bcat104792580%253Bcat104769180&WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat104792580%3Bcat104769180%3Bcat104381280
  9. I will say this on hearsay, but...I heard it was not to great, all around. And I have to say, Mossberg 500's are pretty junky. I can say that because I have owned one for the last twenty years..To bad the NEF sidekick aint around anymore...I think I got the last one, and they were only 150 bucks for a good muzzy.
  10. And no legs..... Still no f@#$%&* Idea!
  11. All I can say is..I am glad that stuff happens to someone else besides me!
  12. Ha! I have a few socks that lost thier partner because of that!
  13. Geno, It took me two years to find what I was looking for....But I had fun doing it...I could not afford 100's of acres, so I looked for something bordering state land. I spent probably 100's of hours on the net looking as well. If you go to google maps and select real estate from the drop down menu, it will bring up real estate that you can look for in specific areas. I was kind of open on what I originaly wanted, meaning I was looking at houses, land, cabins...As long as I liked the area..I wound up buying a cabin in Chenango County, 30 acres bordering state land. Lots of state land in Chenango.. I still look for curiosity sake..Are you looking for something specific? I will keep an eye out.
  14. I do not think the video showed anything unethical. It was simply in bad taste. It makes hunters look foolish in general. But it is a free country.
  15. I recently bought a camp in Chenago County. I found it here. http://nycountryland.com/ I live in Suffolk, so it is about a 4.5 hour drive. It took me two years to find something I liked and could afford. Also, if you want to purchase raw land, be advised you will need the cash, as very few lenders right now are doing financing for land. Here is another site as well. http://www.landandfarm.com/ Also try realaty usa.. Good luck!
  16. Hey, check this out.. http://www.era.com/property/index.jsp?property=ERA2948778&campaign=listhub&refcode=ERAgbase
  17. Suffolk here... Just bought a place in Chenango county as well.
  18. Ok, my buddy is selling me a never fired "1858 New Army" revolver... Any one ever shoot these things? I believe I know the basics...Your supposed to use some kind of lube on the front of the cylinder to prevent chain firing or whatever its called...That does not sound like fun..
  19. I like at least 200 yards between me and the next guy...If I do not have that, I leave..
  20. I work in Law Enforcement, on the Federal side. Some very interesting occupations here...
  21. Heading up to the big woods myself. Two years muzzleloading in the adirondacks, no luck. But a great time for sure. Going to try still hunting more...Cover some area.. Did not see a single deer these last two years...Besides the ones hanging out near peoples houses when driving back from dinner. > I did see a bear last year. That was pretty cool. I have a few promising spots though..We will see. Hopefully it will be a little colder this year..
  22. I have no problem with it. If someone wants to raise animals, and charge a fee to "harvest" them, that is up to the individual. As long as it is legal. Is that my kind of hunting? No, no way, not interested. Thank god this is still (almost) a free country, and you can still partake in activities that are not approved by the majority...Like hunting will be in the not to distant future... If disabled people use these places to harvest an animal, that is great. I would seem to think though, that most of the people who use such a service would be a guy with some bucks..As in money. And maybe a little lazy, or with an ego that needs to be satisfied. And I bet he has that animal mounted. And most likely does not tell anyone who asks that it was pen reared... But that is fine. Just not for me.
  23. Although your question has been answered, here is what it says on the DEC Site. It is unlawful to: Take big game while the deer or bear is in water. Possess a firearm of any description when bowhunting or when accompanying a person bowhunting during special archery seasons. Make, set or use a salt lick on land inhabited by deer or bear http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8305.html
