  1. If you load more than 7 rounds you will be charged. You can still leave the house with a 10 round magazine you just can't load more than 7 rounds in it
  2. This just posted on twitter kathymarchione: Our petition to repeal and replace the #GunControl bill has over 29,300 signatures in <24 hours. Keep them coming! http://t.co/3btBdu8l
  3. I had a conversation at work with a woman on monday night that felt that no one should be able to automatic weapons I explained to her that they are already illegal unless you get a tax stamp from the ATF and only a few states actually allow you to get that tax stamp she then stated that news is making it seem like the government is trying to ban fully automatic weapons and she didn't have a problem with people owning semi autos. I told her that was the problem the government and media is making it look like they are only taking machine guns away from the people when machine guns have been illegal since 30's. they are counting on the fact the public will just think they are getting rid of machine guns and that they will get away with it and it is working. she then said that the ar15 that was just on news is the same automatic weapon the military uses and it is only good for killing. I informed her that they look similar but the ar15 is only semi automatic automatic. she asked what is the problem then it is the same as my ex husband 30-06 and she was not very impressed with the tactics the government and media are using to try and accomplish their goals.
  4. http://www.governor.ny.gov/press/01152013-outline-of-nys-groundbreaking-gun-legislation according to this from Cuomo's website all existing 10 rnd magazines will be grandfathered in but can only be loaded with seven. New guns cannot come with 10 rnd magazines and only magazines with a capacity greater than 10 have to be sold out of state within a year. Which creates the same loophole that they were supposedly trying to get rid of. How many 10 rnd magazines have you seen that are dated? That was their bargaining chip while writing the bill I am assuming. I assumed that it would be bargained from 7 back up to 10 and do away with all preban magazines but they new if it was set at 7 it would effect more than just their so called "assault weapons" so the they didn't want to budge on that one.
  5. They released a statement yesterday stating "The National Rifle Association and our New York members are outraged at the draconian gun control bill that was rushed through the process late Monday evening, and we will be considering all possible legal challenges in the near future." So I believe they are looking at all their options and finding the most effective way to challenge this. There are so many things wrong with this law and the way things are written in it because it was thrown together so fast to get it pushed through that they have to read through the confusion and find all the ways to challenge it and then pick the best one and go from there. While watching the live feed of the assembly yesterday there were a quite a few that stated that there a lot of things wrong in the legislation that needed to be fixed but they still voted to approve it. Now why would you approve something that you openly admit that it isn't right other than you know it is the only chance you are gonna get to accomplish your personal agenda.
  6. ALL CALIBERS AND THEY WANT TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE TO MUCH. they don't say what to much is but they want to know if you have to much.
  7. from what I read ALL magazine 10 rds and under out there are grandfathered in, any new guns purchased will have to be 7 or less. Pistol or Rifle. I feel that was the point of them choosing the 7 round capacity that they chose there aren't very many new guns out there that comply with their law and the ones out there aren't really the best defense weapons mostly subcompacts and it will make it that much harder for law abiding citizens to get ahold of new guns that comply with their law until the gun company's start making 7 rnd mags to comply with NYS's second amendment infringement. If the gun company's even decide it is worth it to comply with this mess we were forced into. I just wish I would have gotten my pistol permit that I have been waiting on since last april before all of this so I could have purchased the M&P40 I have been patiently waiting to purchase and now will most likely not be available in NYS
  8. I love my 10/22s. I started with a basic Ruger 10/22 and started modifying it with Kidd products. I got bit by the 10/22 bug and now have a full Kidd 10/22 and my original Ruger from all the left over parts DO NOT GO TO RIMFIRECENTRAL.COM.j/k They are great over there a lot of info and a lot of really nice guns.
  9. Add another. This was about the sixth email ALL of my representatives received from me. Maybe they might get the hint!!!!
  10. I completely agree. I think a lot of our politicians forgot that they work for us and are supposed to be voting for what we want not what they feel is best.
  11. That link would have came in handy before I wrote everyone of my representatives an individual email. Lol
  12. I had been thinking about joining the NRA for about a year now and fully intended on joining but just kept putting it off. I joined 2 weeks ago I also joined NYSPRA at the same time. In the last week I have also written emails to ALL of my representatives asking them not to pass bills that further infringe on our second amendments right. Not sure how much any of this will help but I will have at least made an effort. I am not saying that it should be mandatory for anyone who owns a gun to join the NRA or NYSPRA but it is a good time to have someone to help us in this fight. Now I do feel that if you are a gun owner you should contact your representatives and tell them to protect our second amendment right instead of trying to take it away from us.
  13. I love that photo it just goes to show how ridiculous some these politicians are trying to accomplish their agenda.
  14. In my county you go to the county clerks office where you got your pistol permit application from and purchase a purchase coupon and bring it with you when you go to buy a pistol. The counties in NYS are inconsistent so you will have to look into your local regulations before purchase.
  15. Yes as far I know my county also allows you to buy with a purchase coupon and register it later. The purchase coupon is the one exception of carrying a handgun not registered on your permit. But the way I understood the question was can someone legally buy a pistol and never register it on their permit.
  16. It is illegal to possess a handgun not registered on your permit. You can register someone else handgun on your permit so you both can legally carry it but if you are caught carrying a handgun not registered on your permit you will be in violation of the law.
  17. I still need to find an optic of some sort for the Windham. I am trying to decide between scope, reflex sight, or both. it will mainly be used for target, plinking, and to start coyote hunting. so I might just keep the 7mm-08 out to play with.
  18. So I picked up my 7mm-08 yesterday I love it. I also accidentally brought home a Windham Weaponry SRC. lol. Now here is the dilemma I have to choose which one gets wrapped for christmas and whichever I choose can't be shot until after christmas.
  19. Yes it is my first 7mm-08. I have a .243,30-30, and the 30/06 I traded for the 7mm08. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.
  20. I have already seen her receipt and thats why I wont hesitate if I find a good deal on an AR. She bought herself a new wedding ring set for x-mas. and that was just The big present. If they would of had a flat top optics ready AR I probably would be picking that up next week too.
  21. Yes a nice walnut stock. I am not a fan of synthetic stocks. the only plastics I really care for a pistols and AR's
  22. I doubt it she hasn't seen the receipt for mine yet. lol.
  23. The wife told me to get myself a christmas present so I went all out. I have never had a NEW deer rifle, every centerfire rifle of mine was either my father's that he gave me or I bought used. So I went to the local gun shop and picked out a new browning x bolt micro hunter in 7mm-08 with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 bdc. I should be picking it up on tuesday or wednesday of next week and have to wait until christmas to actually play with it. I can't wait. Next up is an AR to try my hand at sniping coyotes and plinking but that may have to wait until my birthday unless I find a good deal on one or have some extra funds between now and then.
  24. Yeah I just brought my 30-06 in to gander mountain in October paid a little over $300 for it a year and a half ago. I put 10 rounds threw it at the range when I first bought it and it never left the safe again. $300 plus the scope and rings that were added after I bought it that cost around $150. I figured they would offer me $200-$250 for it. They offered me $130 for it I told them it would sit in the safe and collect dust for anything less then $200 and left. I knew bringing it there I would take a loss but I wasn't willing to take that much of a loss. So it will sit in the safe until I give it to a relative or decide to sell it.
