  1. Now you guys are just trying to make things difficult. lol I guess its like asking which compound bow is best! We all know its X, Y and Z.
  2. I guess the claim is that it brakes so hard that it actually causes the chuck to loosen. But it is usually after 8-10 starts and stops. I don't expect that to be an issue for me, but if someone said its a huge pain, I might reconsider. My Dewalt compound miter saw and impact gun have held up great so I like the brand.
  3. Thanks Dinsdale. I don't really use it enough to warrant 2 tools. I assume the drill driver is a bit more versatile and should be plenty for whatever screws I need.
  4. I looked at the Milwaukee. Didn't want to spend that much, nor as much on the DeWalt but the Milwaukee is an extra $75.
  5. Thought minimum weight in NY is 35lbs. Edit - must exceed 35lbs (35.1 is good) - http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8305.html
  6. So my old drill finally kicked the bucket. I wanted a drill that was of good quality, 2 batteries and good battery life. Ordered the DeWalt 791D2 based on good reviews on Amazon (several hundred) but since ordering have a seen a few reviews where the chuck is releasing the bit due to the brake. Anyone have this particular drill or have a recommendation for one? I can return the DeWalt if I missed something better. 18-20v mainly to be used for non-commercial DIY stuff but I prefer to buy reasonably good quality within reason.
  7. Use those just off winds to your advantage john. SW and NW are pretty common. Might be different access for both to the same stand but both may be viable.
  8. No doubt. Hopefully this time you will get more than 2 hours of hunting in!
  9. Grampy and Nomad, you might consider a 35-40lb DW. It will kill Deer just as dead and should be significantly easier to draw than 50lbs. I hear of plenty of folks that successfully hunt with 40lb recurves. A compound of similar weight should produce way more KE. Just a thought. Nothing wrong with the xbow but might be worth trying a lower DW if you want to stay with a compound.
  10. I called in both a lion and wolf but wasn’t sure they are legal Biz so they got a pass.
  11. My wife refused to taste the squirrel and proceeds to tell me she tried opossum in Guatemala. C’mon who tries opossum but wont try squirrel. Lol
  12. Thanks for the recipe. Taste wasn’t bad. Just tough. Now I know.
  13. Your caller worked great Dave. Thanks. It was fun. I wasn’t really sure how long to stay at it. Did three sets of calls from same spot in about 45 min and then moved to squirrels. I will definitely give it a go again. Try a different spot maybe or maybe late afternoon on the field edge. Hoping to get out with Treeguy soon. I am sure a little time with him would shorten the learning curve.
  14. The shots were mostly 30yds and in. I took one shot at about 80 but missed. And had a few more chances but had a tough time gettting a clear shot. That gun is more accurate than I am out to about 60. Then it requires a lot of hold over. Probably would have done better if we just sat for a while but we decided to walk and try to stalk them. Had two that we chased round and round and they escaped. Sneaky little critters. Shotgun would have been a lot easier. But less fun.
  15. Maybe I prepared it poorly. I could see it being more tender in soup or a stew.
  16. By the way, the rabbit in distress call sure got the crows talking and circling.
  17. First time eating squirrel. I would give it a 75. Passing but not outstanding. Little tough.
  18. No luck on Fox this morning but had fun. Took a squirrel snack home. My buddy and I were trading off the pellet gun. They scamper quick. 3 ain’t going to be much of a meal. Had a few deer hanging around too. Bedded within 75yds and never left when we were calling. Walked by them at less than 20yds and they were calm as could be.
  19. It’s the famous emperors new rock. You know what it means if you can’t see it Larry. Clear as day to me.
  20. I know there is special prep required for cerakote but I thought Bill told me has done it. Not 100 percent sure as it was several years ago when we last spoke.
  21. I suspect ultimate finishers in Newark could handle the cerakote. Call them up. They do nice work and a lot of bows.
  22. I really stopped playing 7 or 8 years ago. I suspect I would be much worse now. Just don't have or make time for golf anymore.
  23. Will that help? lol I was kidding on the bet but as a 14 or so handicap, I could blow up under those conditions at times (like shooting 105-110), where a scratch would not. Now if you manage to try to limit the pain, that's a different story. But I never held back on the course. Went for broke always and sometimes I went broke trying. I did throw a few mid 80s rounds in on the East course too but not when they were pro ready.
