Looking for a nice SxS for $1000?
ATbuckhunter replied to Grouse's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
How about the CZ's? They make a great one for about 600 and a really nice looking one for around 1000 -
Yeah I mostly just want to introduce her to birds since I haven’t done it yet. It’s getting down to the wire for that. After that im not too worried about it. I’ll probably only train a couple times a week though. I have a few friends willing to help me out with training Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wellwood said they had none in stock, but I didnt check out holbrook. They looked like they were just a butcher shop to me and didn't have live birds
-
Crappy did me a solid and found me a place not far from my house that will sell me live quail
-
Would you happen to know of any names? I tried a store in LI and they said they don't have any in stock at the moment and the live poultry store by me told me they wouldn't sell me a live bird.

I think in NYC it might be with out a permit. I go to Long Island to try Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah I did that for quail and im currently emailing someone about it. 10 bucks a quail, but its all I have to work with at this point
-
Don't go out of your way though. Id feel bad if you did
-
Haha its a trap so I did nothing but sat and watched pigeons walk all around and some go half way in and change their mind.
-
I looked them up, but they seemed like they were a store?
-
Does anyone know of any farms in the Long Island, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess or maybe ulster county that sell live chukar, pigeons or quail? I've been trying to catch pigeons by me, but so far I haven't been able to trap any of them.

Wish I could make it, but it would be one hell of a drive
-
I think it was over hunting that really did them in as well as a loss in habitat. Eastern elk were more suited for more wooded habitats than the western elk.

Thats what I like to hear

I honestly wouldn't know. This might be a one off because everyone i spoke to that uses the powder has said they/ve left it for longer and had zero rust. The day I hunted with it last was misty, but I thought covering the barrel would save it from any moisture. I may have been wrong about that
-
CVA. Im going to bring it to a gunsmith to see what he says. I don't want to possibly cause any more damage to the barrel. I did pick up some of the copper wool
-
Don't trust my self that much lol. Im going to stop by a guy tomorrow on my lunch break and see what he says

This was as good as I can get with my phone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im not sure my self either. I do think this picture makes it look worse than it really is though. I couldn't get a better pic
-
That wont ruin the barrel?
-
I tried it, but couldn’t get more out. Maybe I’m not doing it enough, I just hate brushing gun barrels Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I got lazy and didn’t clean mr muzzleloader until today. Last time I used it was middle of January, but I noticed some rust at the end. The rest of the bore is clean of rust. I tried running a brush down it about 10-15 times, but after a few strokes it doesn’t looks like it’s removed anymore than the first few strokes. Is this a big deal? How should I go about cleaning it, if it is? My guns are usually spotless so this is new to me. Btw I used blackhorn 209 which is the only reason I got lazy with it. With regular black powder, I cleaned it that night and always had a spotless barrel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Where To Start In The Hunt For A Covid Shot?
ATbuckhunter replied to Lawdwaz's topic in General Chit Chat
Check the NYS site. They tend to open spots at 12am, 8am and around 8pm. Start checking an hour between those times. The pharmacies are only giving to 65 and over, so you'll have to go to vaccine hubs. I got my mother and brother shots using this method with in a couple days of checking. Make sure you bring the letter with you on the day though -
If it hasnt been hunted in 43 years, you can assume that the deer hunting will be pretty good. Problem is I highly doubt it hasnt been hunted. people quickly find out when a piece hasnt been hunted in a while and they will sneak on. Im sure the numbers will be alright, you just have to go in and hunt it
