  5. I got a guy that makes amazing flies and he said he would make me like 100+ flies for 100 bucks. He donates the money to cancer research
  6. Yes exactly the same river! Now that ill have the dog, itll be much easier for us too
  7. Ive got the decoys so you don't have to worry about that. If you want to buy some, thats up to you, but if you dont want to, its ok. Just get the required licensing, a shotgun, steel shot and waders. Its good early in the season, but even better towards the end of deer season in december
  8. This is out on LI, not sure if you want to make the trek out here (low chance at success cause im not the best duck hunter lol). Next season though you're more than welcome to join me on the river I hunt in Ulster county. Ill have my dog trained up for it
  9. You're supposed to grease the breech plug according to the manual. Ive heard people say they never did and were fine, but ive also heard many people say they had a locked breech plug. Im sure if you clean it after every session or shot in the woods, youd be fine.
  10. I was actually thinking about getting one to avoid the hassle of worrying about my stock
  11. First duck hunt since October and I got this mallard x black duck hybrid. Got to my spot late because the check in system doesn’t start till 45 min before shooting time, so by the time I got down there, there were two ducks already at the blind. I shot one, but I only loaded one shell so the other one got away. Didn’t see a single duck till I left and went to scour a few small public ponds. 2 were pretty much dried up, but the third had about 8-12 black ducks in them. I could have snuck around and maybe got a shot, but I left my waders at the car so I decided to call it a day. I’ll be back out next week. Probably to this pond I just found. 12. I think its really cool! Id love to do it for a mount...especially if I tracked it down in the snow and packed it out.
  13. I used CCI primers, but thay was because I knew I was going to switch to Blackhorn 209
  14. You wont feel anything when you're shooting at the deer
  15. Id rather not do that. The gun is pillar bedded, and the manual says not to remove it, unless im qualified
  16. My father and I are both healthcare workers, but since hes a bit older than me he had more priority to take the vaccine. He got it saturday and the only problem he had was a sore shoulder. I check my email every morning hoping to hear im up to get it
  17. I do it similar. I butcher the deer, cut the meat into strips, salt cure it, spice it and then I smoke it for 3 days straight. smoke with oak that was cut from the property. Best smoked meat you can get IMO
  18. Title pretty much says it, but does anyone know of a copper solvent that doesnt destroy wooden stocks? I have some bad copper fouling that needs to be taken care of, but I have a wood stock and dont want to ruin it
  19. Idk how they were allowed to. Theyre getting a bit too big now
