i have seen a few 3 legged deer out in the woods. funny part is they run like they have 4, its amazing!!

havnt had muchg time to get the 12 ga out and shoot some at the range. i will prob do it sunday morn...

holy crap!

when my buddy started rattling, he had a nice buck come flying in to his rattle sequence. he did not see the deer but i could hear him rattling and i saw the buck come flying in at 80 yards or so heading my buddies direction circling down wind.

Well, i had a shot on the buck i spoke of however i refuse to take a head on shot at a deer not 20 yards from me while im hunting from the ground. i could have taken a shot but unfortunetly im not the type of guy to just let lead fly at a deer on a angle i myself am not willing to take. nothing really funny about it... if the can never worked for you its safe to say it might work for someone else..

you never know what your neighbor is shooting tho... you and other adjasent properties can hold out for bigger deer but it only takes one guy with killing anything hes see in mind to negate the efforts you take. i dont think this is something ANY OF US can change by what we are tought and what we believe. whether that be laying of younger and smaller deer and possibly taking a few does instead. it just will NEVER work. im sorry... this is something that would have to be enforced and forced to follow by law to see any drastic change! what one beleive may not be believed by another! however, if its the law and its enforced now we have no choice but to follow the new structure. see what im getting at? i am all for laying off small deer and taking does but not everyone is so how does one conform to that if another hunter is not liable to follow those guidelines as well???

the bad thing would to implement a structure based on those rulings alone... to me it would be a decision based upon revenue for the state then the actual deer herd itself. thats what im asking and that is what i am getting at...

i agree... im not saying hunters per say are in it for the $$ becasue there is not real benefit to the avergae hunter... i just asked if in regards to the state with the money thing. im not refering to hunters. i do not think a restriction would be a bad thing either... however these are all decsions made above mine and your pay grade and im not sure how the "hunters voice" can impact that. i would think if it is sot happen it will, NO?

oh BTW, try it... smoke vinella pipes or what not and see what happens. only one way to find out. id be curious to see how you make out. lets us know

i do belive what works for one DOES not work for another ALL the time... ever hear of "dumb luck"? first you have no luck then you have dumb luck... a guy goes in the woods smokes cigerettes all day, his clothes smell like his truck and never washes them and then goes out and has dumb luck and shoots a big buck. then you have other hunters who hear this and think that scent killer and all the other products that may sharpen a hunters edge are crap because a few guys have had success killing deer while doing what some may say to be unorthidox. i dont beleive it, im sorry lol i have heard of guys who eat pizza a a pizza store while wearing hunting clothes and smoke all sorts of things and still kill deer. NOW compare those statistics to those who do use scent killer products and dont smoke pipes and so on and i want to see who comes out on top! it may work for some but not all. and does anyone else here thingk that BY NOW, if it was found that vinella was an attractent that there would be a FLOOD of products containing that by now on all shelves in the store?? im being honest here...

im not saying i support such statement... but it almost would not suprise me that the thought has crossed their minds to bring extra income to the state. and yes i agree the buiness end in hunting is a huge industry.

the movement by me latly has been generally slow. up until Sat morn, with signs of bucks responding to bleets and estrus. i really hope things start to take a turn for the better and heat up! (action in the woods) not the weather lol
