  1. hmm thats a good idea... i like this one
  2. more feeding wildlife goes on state wide intentionally and unintentionally then we can even fathom...
  3. i still love my regular 2 blades with the ORing... ill give these a try, i have seen alot of harvest using them in its proto type phase and the deer go down in a hurry and penetration is great.
  4. yes i use them however have not taken a deer with them yet. this design seems to be very nice. It does replace the O rings... I am using the 2.3's what are you guys using? Ants, its like a little plastic type ring that has a groove fitted for the clip end of the blade. loosen the broadhead off the shaft, fix the blades, slide the collar up and tighten the head to arrow and it stays nice and tight.
  5. Your blades will stay in tight with the shock collars and will not wiggle out. They stay in good
  6. Hey I was close! Lol 5" is pretty good
  7. i scored him a bit high on the tines if i was off on the mass... i scored him on the higher end. def every bit of high 120s his right G2 and 3 looks a bit longer then 6"?

WTH is that? lol what a deer!!
  9. +1 bought my MR5 from them last season... Craig and Jared own it and are very knowledgeable guys. My buddy Dave is the bow tech there he knows his stuff..
  10. 2 1/2 for sure will be a great buck next year
  11. i gave him 130" rough score... assuming he has a G3 and G4 to score, if its a split G3 then he will likely be a tad bit smaller. he may be low 130s... Right Side 5" 8" 8" beam 20" Left Side 5" 7" 8" 8" beam 18" spread 18" mass 25" its a rough score but its ball park... hard to tell from the angles so.
  12. well if what the OP wrote was the "Law" defined by the DEC, even tho very vague. then really you can look at it a million different ways and all that will come out of this will be "Interpretations". What one believes to be correct.... I bet even a DEC Officer will chalk that up to his own "Interpretation". and your right, it would say just that. but it doesnt... and if its not then the rules and regulations should be revised and more clearly defined so no INTERPRETATIONS stem from whats supposed to be the law. When something is the law it should be clearly defined - No talking and a cell phone or texting while driving... cant get more black and white then that. Maybe the question should be why are some rules unclear and thus why do so many hunters not obey them? hmmm, maybe they dont understand them lol
  13. i just dont like to move or let a deer see me get down... the less i educate them of my where abouts the better. the sounds i make to get them to walk off seem to work for me and the deer do indeed come back. the yote howls are interesting i wouldn't have thought of that one.

    gators

They are all pets and let go when they either get to big or just cant take care of them. i knew a guy who did years ago in Bellmont. Pretty dumb if you ask me... It wouldnt survive the winters we have tho...
  15. heres another topic that will get no where lol
  16. sat all day Sat and saw a 4 point at 5pm (very slow day) Sunday i saw a 4 point and a spike in the AM. Sunday evening, nothing.
  17. agree 100%... id like to think its less then 99% of the hunters tho but i bet a good amount push the envelope on their hunts and KNOW they are doing it. If your questioning yourself, its prob after sunset and not legal... guys know when they are in the wrong, bottom line...
  18. the deer usually always come back... was just curious what other guys do. I think this subject has not been talked about yet.
  19. I should re word it but i was talking about the evening hunt.. you would sit there in the dark for another hour??
  20. What do you do when its time to get down from your stand after your EVENING HUNT and you have deer under or around you? im sure we all dont want to give up our location if the deer have not looked up and picked you off, so what do you do? i never move or give up my location because if you never hunted the island here some info for you. the deer look up 99% of the time and when they think they see something and booger out they remember and always look up at that tree when they come in. Its not as bad upstate but hunting the island a deer will literally smell where you stepped and if the scent trail stops at the tree they will look straight up at you lol i usually make a mouth grunt (with my mouth) to the deer or some sort of animal sound that sounds natural (or i think) that wont send that deer high tailing it out this way i can get down and walk out. im just curious to see what others do?
  21. Honestly i am willing to bet for the most part we all know what is legal shooting light! we know guys shoot outside that window but if you cant tell when you should be shooting then you should not be in the woods... google it, it tells you the approximate times and its a great way to get you ball park. we can all use our better judgment, it changes day by day!!! If you can see a silhouette of the animal its not brain science to know your not legal. I mean what are you guys looking for exact times??? day to day? If your in your car texting while driving your breaking the law, if your shooting a deer when its dark, you guessed it... breaking the law.... I mean stop and think about this, is it really that difficult for a hunter to determine if its legal to shoot or not? seriously?
  22. Had a spike and 4 point walk under stand..
