  1. I won a game hide suit ...I gave to MrB....wish I hadn't ...but I field tested it and man what a great product....
  2. I would think...seeing they have already tied archery to ML with the either or tag ...it will remain the same, with this being the case....if you buy both...you get a buck tag for archery or muzzle....as well as being able to use reg buck tag in muzzle if they weren't used in first two seasons....Then you'll draw for DMPs to be used in any of the three seasons... Now if you are archery only...or muzzle only...you'll get a buck tag...and be in drawing for DMP's....so ML is just going to be a catch all season...mop up as it were for the first two...like they plan on using it in high density areas during archery....my best guess :-\
  3. still just the young ones showing up....but its just means a bright future
  4. I leave my male goat in with the females year around....I gather fresh droppings and soak in a bucket of water...I also trim beards and soak those in water as well...pour dropping water in an area I scratch up with a hoe and put the beard water in a spray bottle and spray branches that over hang...seems to bring in both buck and doe to a scrape area
  5. That's right WNYH...no law could stop ignorance but for the life of me I don't under stand how so many men can look at an issue and have complete and udder tunnel vision...but it happens a lot here...not a slam just my observation.... this being a case in point...no it can't stop idiots but when those idiots cause bodily harm to another human they now have a leg to stand on in court for medical bills...loss of livestock or even life.... One more point to this and hey look it up please...but NYS DEC and courts already set a president where a guy was ticketed and subsequently fined for harassment for making noise on his land while the neighbor bow hunted....at the time I believe he was mowing or cutting wood....what ever...now he may have been trying to disrupt the guys hunt....BUT now what happens when a guy sets up to bow hunt 50yrds off your back deck and you want to mow...play the stereo....have a party....cut wood...target shoot to get ready for gun?...mind you ....ppl doing these things tend to do them after work...right when guys hit the woods...so now you have a president where ppl can be arrested and fined for such things during actually any season for cross bows are in gun season...and some guys hunt with bow during gun...I'm sure no one on this forum is naive enough to think that won't happen....we aren't in a love they nieghbor society any more.....Hunting is 7 days a week....ppl in this state have a right to do as they wish on there lands with in the law...... hunting has no right to even come close to being able to take that away....changing to 50 yrds is what that will do to many ppl in this state...mark my words
  6. H Well I could get BOLD print off so I'll finish here How many of you have had an arrow deflect off a limb ..tree...or target and go in a totally different direction?....a mere 50yrds is just Too damn close to shoot near occupied buildings
  7. Well see it never said he was shooting in the direction of her house....and said he was near by ...but how far n"near by"? it clearly said... arrow apparently bounced off the hay bale he was shooting at
  8. We needed seems to be here today....the quick storms that rolled through helped but if this one sticks around for a while today.... we will be in better shape....acorns are on ground...beechnuts dropping husks and all ...hickories dropping crop and the woods looks like fall started but its dried green leafs falling......let it rain!
  9. So what do you guys think...for we all know it's coming ...ppl just never learn...anyways years ago before we moved to the fingerlakes region the gas companies came in to buy gas rights...from what a local told me....that was quite a while ago...any how the Macellus shale deposit comes right up through many "protected water sheds"...how protected do you think the Honeoye ....Canadice...Hemlock lake areas are now that the state has them and all possible drilling areas are above and drain down to them? yes I know Honeoye wasn't in that purchase...just general area mentioned
  10. G-man ...I was shot at....when your in a 16ft tree stand and the person is close enough that 20 min. before gun opener they actually have to raise their gun in the air to have the slug whistle past your ear at 18ft...hitting a branch 5ft from your face that snapped back and hit you...well thats being shot at....mind you I wasn't wounded or dead so no report and no investigation..."you know they'll just lie any ways" I know exactly what happened....thought they'd scare me out of the stand with a "close shot" but it bounced of the tree limbs
  11. Congrats and good luck....enjoy and be safe
  12. Yep I'm still on the safety issue...which isn't top on the talk list...so thought ppl that think a mere 50 yards isn't too close to shoot arrows next to someones home or livestock. Missouri woman shot in face by nei ST. LOUIS | Wed Jul 27, 2011 3:56pm EDT (Reuters) - An 80-year-old Missouri woman enjoying a chocolate doughnut at her kitchen table was hit in the face by a stray arrow apparently shot by a neighbor honing his archery skills, police said on Wednesday. The woman, great-grandmother Margaret Shofner, calmly pulled the arrow out of her jaw on Tuesday morning and put it on her table. She did not require hospitalization and wasn't sure at first what hit her."I pulled (the arrow) out and laid it on the table. That's when I realized what it was," Shofner said, telling her story to local television not long after the Tuesday morning incident."Who would have thought an arrow was going to come into your house and hit you," Shofner said. Her face was swollen and bruised but otherwise she was unharmed.Police in the north St. Louis suburb of St. John, Missouri, found nearby resident Robert Joiner, 26, still practicing his bow and arrow shots an hour after the shooting and was charged with second-degree assault and armed criminal action, Capt. J.R. Morris of the St. John police said.Police said Joiner was practicing archery with a compound bow when the arrow apparently bounced off the hay bale he was shooting at and crashed through Shofner's window. He was released on $25,000 bail.(Writing by Bruce Olson, editing by Cynthia Johnston)...would like the following.....
  13. Notice any thing about this response? Definitions of intent (n) in·tent [ in tént ] http://www.bing.com/s/playbtn.png[/img] [*]plan or purpose: something planned, or the purpose that accompanies a plan [*]state of mind: somebody's state of mind when deliberately committing or planning to commit an illegal act [*]connotation: the meaning or significance of something, especially when not explicitly expressed In choice of words IMO....they are not truly committing to what is being said...if so I would think the wording would go as " there will be NO move to a 1-buck system"...."special season license WILL come with an antler tag"....Those details HAVE been worked out if and when reg. are drafted....just saying :-\
  14. I had a DEC officer tell me...we know the guys out there doing this crap...and I'll tell ya it gets old when you go to a local judge and the guys you ticketed are 1 relatives or 2 drinking buddies at the legion and your made to look like an as in court The DEC really doesn't care who shot the deer as long as it's tagged...as long as that attitude prevails the type of situations where one guy goes out and shoots 5 huge bucks and gets away bragging about it will remain....and everyone on this site...I'd bet a $1 to a dounut knows at least one
  15. So they wrapped it up by saying all sightings in several states were just this one single cat....well what a pretty pink ribbon that package has on it...lol....for the sake of an argument ;D ...if there are more sightings or even "evidence" ...does that mean this cat carried kittens on it's back like a possum...lol
  16. Hhhmmm .......You don't happen to Skipp...right in there to see that butcher do you WNYH? ;D
  17. no ...never see the big boys on cam...or live until they walk in during hunting season....then I wonder where all those beautiful buck have been hiding out all summer...although did snap snap a few pics last year from the front porch of a beautiful buck....
  18. Is it for just your deer or a bunch of deer....I use my Kitchenaid grinder...does a great job and we bought a hand crank cuber...still expensive 199.00..but it works great
  19. Just went through this...you need to go pick them up and shoot....I have an older hoyt I love ....new Hoyt design just didn't feel right....PSE Stinger felt and shot good...and then not anything else until the Mission Venture bow...and that's the one I bought....I see it also just got named bow buy of the year and has same warranty as the parent company Mathews....Know matter what it has to feel right...Good Luck
  20. I got the plots all finished ...walked in the door and the skies opened up for a good but gentle 15 min rain...now the suns out ;D
  21. Milorganite ...it's a fertilizer as well and lots less work and cheaper
  22. It's rained ...it's rained...so tomorrow I'll be planting a 1/2 acre of a trical...oats...pea...clover...and chicory mix...and a 1/2 of turnips and a 1/2 acre of clover mix...the seeds I threw out in the dried up soybean plot have started to grow...think that unmarked bag may have been rape seed..deer love it...I don't ...but now its gone ...waste not want not
  23. I know two dead and won't even bother with the near misses of mine family and friends on ground and in stands...you've heard many of them...paranoid left there building a long time ago...anger and fear took it's place
