I was suprised at the amount of "good Jobs" and the lack of "you moron"'s , In my opinion that is a shot that should never be taken, people were outraged at the thread with the skull with eye socket arrow... why not this. I didn't get it.

Any Grouse or Quail hunters here?
irish_redneck replied to shawnhu's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
I got a grouse opening day, it walked out into my shooting lane between two trees I'd ranged at 20 yards, arrow straight to the head. I'm seeing more grouse than deer lately :/ -
I had an arrow that just had a slight bulge in it at the tip from impact pushing the tip back. Local pro shop said to toss it as if it had stresses there, it most likely had them elsewhere and could likely self destruct with use. This would be possible injury , or "dry fire" damage to the bow, not worth the risk I guess.

Wild venison is illegal to sell, you can buy farm raised venison legally.

My friend has a camp in empeyville that I frequently use. Snowmobile up there often. Should try and set up a ride later in the year. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2 -

I have a few big game xl's , likem a lot but my summit is my most comfortable stand. -
I had a 10pt broadside at 15 yards the other day, he stayed on the far side of a cedar tree and never presented a clean shot though.... , walked off and I just had to watch him go. So telepathy... maybe

So I don't know if anyone knows the answer to this, I'm sure someone does, just not sure if that person is on here basically I'm wondering what kinda frequencies a deer can hear. For example, a dog can hear an ultrasonic whistle that has no sound to the human ear. Can a deer also? Is there a possibility while I'm sitting there all quiet like, breathing slowly through my nose, while silent to me, it may be like a shrill ultrasonic whistle to a deer. On a side note to this, what about a device that makes a funny noise like this... do you think a deer may eventually come check it out just out of curiousity as to what that damn noise is? I spend too much time hunting alone, and have too much time to think of these strange things....

So am I reading you right when I took it that this deer was harvested by your vehicle?

me too, seems like mud on the way in , then dries while I'm up there and rains chunks down below making a racket in the leaf litter. -
Hang your backpack the easy way
irish_redneck replied to fasteddie's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
for the backpack I have a "Hunter's Specialties Tree Accessory Belt" , not sure if the hooks are suitable for that much weight so I put the strap through the loop in pack, it has multiple clips and two hooks for calls, rangefinder, binoculars etc. everything within reach and no damage to the tree -

That looks like it's on the inside of the arm rest, am I seeing that correctly? If so , does it get a little cramped? -
