  1. I can say that my ar is a tack driver, virtually no recoil and incredibly easy to keep dead on target for follow up shots. My gun dealer told me to use the 64gr soft tips if I ever chose to hunt deer with it.
  2. I heard it was designed to severely INJURE humans , thereby keeping death counts low and consuming more resources to the opposition transporting and caring for their injured. I have an AR15 in .223 , never used it on deer as of yet. Not sure I ever will. My FIL uses one, and the small exntry wound, and most often lack of exit wound can lead to a really tough job locating the deer after the shot. It certainly doesn't drop in its tracks like they do with my .270
  3. They replaced mine for 3.33 Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  4. Had to manhandle my last deer onto the truckbed single-handed so they were more likely to attract coyotes than hide from deer. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  5. you somewhat can, but if I can get a free replacement, it's probably wiser thanks for the info tughillhunter
  6. I wonder if it has to be where they were issued. This is a second round tag I got at Wally world in Rome when I was sent there to replace photo lab. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  7. Good job a good processor should remove most if not all silverskin Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  8. My last doe tag went through the washer and now looks like green and white camo. I assume it's still good, but wasn't sure if it was some kinda "void" indication. Opinions? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  9. heading out now , luckily only 20 mins away for me
  10. Josephmrtn... I agree with you... I'd rather have it and be judged in court if caught/had to use it, than not have it when needed. Someone else on here said it perfectly.. something about being judged by 12 rather than carried by 6
  11. Recently aquired this encore muzzleloading pistol, was wondering if anyone had any experience with them / had load advice I'm gonna try it with 250gr shockwaves and 80gr pyrodex...
  12. Every doe I've seen this year was loaded in fat, none of the bucks I've seen had much to speak of
  13. Agreed. I wait for the perfect one shot kill, or watchem walk away Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  14. 7m mostly round lebanon area Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  15. Sounds like my brother in law "I shot that deer at 400 yards". "Oh, whered you hit it?" " two rounds hit it's ass that slowed him down, missed twice, closed the distance and finished him with the fifth". Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  16. Are you sure about that part? I thought magazine out of gun = unloaded Muzzleloader charged without primer = unloaded Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  17. Someone shot one near nelson. Had been released from "the wild" in chittenango. Think it was a wallaby not a full kangaroo Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  18. wasn't being a prick, don't think he was intentionally exagerrating, I think he... like me, did not know any of the numbers for what a deer will yield, now we know. As I said previously, the conversation piqued my curiosity. Either way congrats on the deer DeerThug
  19. they say a yearlings guts will weigh about 35# , so your probabably above 50# combined? if we go with the 40# , that would bring you to 250# field dressed 187# carcass weight 125# ideal boneless weight 88# actual meat
  20. http://www.butcher-p...products_id=331 ya got me curious , this suggests that a mature buck with intestines, hide and head removed will weigh about 180# then after waste products are removed you'd end up with about 40% of that weight in meat so about 72lb Carcass weight = Field-dressed weight divided by 1.331 Ideal boneless venison weight = Carcass weight multiplied by .67 Realistic venison yield = Ideal boneless weight multiplied by .70
  21. think the bone must weigh a fair amount too...
  22. Same but quiet for a while now Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
