If these adds even help one person to quit, or scares them from even starting, then they did what they were intended for. And I asked my doctors at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo if these adds are effective, and they confirmed thru surveys with patients and the general public that they played a big part in people quitting. These people have class, and they do feel if they can help stop cancer, it is worth it even if people get offended. Some people need alot of different ways and means to quit, and this is one of them. Everyone is different. "I've been there and done that" as they say. And when I quit, it was because of the 5 stents that when into my cardiac artaries and the pictures of the damage that had been done by smoking. So yeah, these ads are effective in getting people to quit. It might be that extra push they need. This life saved could be someone you know.

I could tell you first hand to stop smoking, or never start. The pain that comes with cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, and surgeries affects every family member besides yourself. I had surgery this past January to have my upper left lung lobe removed, and spent 9 days in the hospital afterwards. I am lucky so far at this point that I didn't need chemo after surgery, and scan 3 weeks ago shows no sign of cancer return. But I am out of work because of side effects caused by cancer, and now rely on social security disability to get by, and it means big change in lifestyle from what I was used too. But at least I am here to celebrate my birthday today with my family members. Alot of people won't even get that chance after lung cancer diagnosis caused by smoking becasuse it comes to late. My advice is to quit, its been 7 years since I quit. The pic is of scars left from surgery to remove lung.

It will be nice to finally be able to archery hunt with our bows during the early archery when the weather is little warmer. Maybe Albany can do something right for a change and make our bows legal to archery hunt with.

Nice catch. Were you fishing on the Black Rock channel side or on the river current side? Using worms? I might head over there.

Went with friend today caught perch at Golden Hill State Park, and 1 brown trout. There were also lots of Gizzard Shad dying in water, they said on news it from water temperature change. Had some great weather too this past week.

Yea they were plump and gave good fight, I returned them safely back to the lake to fight another day!!

Spent few days at friends trailer in Orleans County on Lake Ontario, weather was perfect and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Did little fishing, caught 2 brown trout. This was first time out in long time, since the cancer diagnosis and surgery. But feeling alot better now and just happy to be out in this beautiful weather.

Gun rally caused $60K damage to NY Capitol lawn
greg54 replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in General Chit Chat
The local channel in Buffalo ch 4 played it, and I thought to myself....don't they have something else important to show for news? Everything they show pertaining to guns or gun owners is negative, and the newscasters that report it show their bias against guns and gunowners in their voice and attitude. Leave the gun owners alone and report some news thats important. -
Lets just hope they make crossbow legal here in New York, so we can enjoy some decent archery hunting

New York Senate One House Proposal-Action Needed
greg54 replied to Tinlodge's topic in CrossBow Hunting
Now we wait and see what kind of antics and lies that the other minority group, has about 2,000 members total and has done everything in the past to help get this bill defeated will do this time. Hope NYCC is successful in helping to get this bill passed. It needs to be law and that minority group I speak of needs to accept it. Its long overdue. -

I just bought the Garrett Ace 350 and going to try my luck "hunting" once the weather finally breaks. Its a good way to get some fresh air and exercise, and you never know what you will find. Its a fun hobby.

Don't forget about the freezing rain/sleet thats supposed occur around Western New York...be careful driving and keep it slow...I sure hope the groundhog was right...I'm sick of winter

I have permanent side effects from my recent battle with cancer, and couldn't hunt at all in 2012 cause of being sick. The crossbow is only way I can be able to hunt this year due to my limitations I won't get into, but lets just get these bills passed in Albany and move on. It will let alot of people be able to hunt again who otherwise wouldn't have that chance.

Just want say I got home last Friday from 9 days in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and my operation to remove lung lobe was successful. I saw my Oncologist yesterday, and no follow up chemotherapy needed. I am lucky few this occurs with, and the cancer has all been removed. I wasn't able to get out hunting at all last fall cause of being sick, but I sure will this year. Thanks to all for past support, its going be great new year.
