  1. So I'd guess from that that if you shot a 140" buck you wouldn't score it? Kudos to you for sticking to your standards.
  2. I like scores in racks too. I have had a few pretty good experiences in my time while hunting but walking up to a 140" buck is right up there. Not the top but not too shabby. You've killed some pretty good bucks I assume?
  3. #1 shouldn't be.......sporter contour I'm thinking.
  4. I had a discussion with my buddy during archery season this year about the size of bucks in my trail cam pics and videos and how big or little they'd be when reduced to bag. I think that some of the better bucks I get on the trail cams would "score" higher than they appear on the computer screen when I view them. He thinks that they seem to be bigger on the cams than they'd be "in the dirt". So, for those of you that have killed big bucks that you previously had on cameras, did they grow or shrink when you got your hands on them?
  5. 10-4...........you were rewarded for your patience.
  6. How many buck did you pass on and why?
  7. Ever see Belo? UGGH.................................... Belo is a good egg, just sometimes blurts things out............ Congrats on the buck, next time don't wait so long in to the season to crack one!
  8. Confused here................................ What do you want recommendations on, the chambering or the model of gun? (in the thread title you mention .260 Rem) What is the intended use of the firearm? All I can add on the matter regardless of your answers is that for big game up to the size of an elk the .260 Remington is a wonderful cartridge. Although I haven't killed anything with my .260, I have the utmost confidence in the .264/6.5mm bullets and chambering. Best of luck in your decision and the happiest of holidays to you & yours.
  9. Funny thing..........For quite a few years at my uncles cabin in Naples (on the south side of Hunt Hollow) we would often hear coyotes in groups howling at night. One evening when we had an over load of guys sleeping in the cabin, my buddy and I slept in the barn. Sometime well after midnight a group (who the hell knows how many, may have only been three but sounded like a half dozen) of 'yotes started making music RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BARN! It was scary and unreal at the same time. For all those "howling packs" over the years I've only ever got more than one 'yote on my trail camera a couple times and those were young pups. FWIW, for the most part the past 4-5 years all I've done is 20 second video from my cameras giving ample time for multiple 'yotes to make it to the big screen.
  10. Can you hang a link or three to some of that? Thanks.....
  11. Sounds like he died a fitting death.
  12. I knew a guy who saw one drifting in the lower Niagara River while salmon fishing many years ago. He cast a big 'ol spoon out and cranked 'em in. True story......................
  13. But the State doesn't. They don't have a bounty and probably never will.
  14. NULA 209 smokeless, Leupold VariXIII 2.5-8, 50cal. Parker 275 Ballistic Extreme bullets, SR 4759 powder.
  15. If you could go back in the archives here and pull some of my older posts "pre-rifle legalization" you'd find that is what I said many times. Common sense......................................
  16. If you were Indian they'd name you "One Hung Low". But you ain't...............................
  17. As noted above ( ) it is a 80 TTSX and the powder is H4350. I don't recall exactly but I think it is 3400fps.
  18. If you are 2x over your policy limits you shouldn't need NFA. There is a time and a place when NFA shines but this may not be it. Wait and see what your insurance company offers you (should be policy limits) before you sign. Don't rush into it!
  19. Pretty similar to the 7mm-08 being a S/A chambering.
  20. How well does that fat little bastid feed though?
  21. I wouldn't be afraid to crack that bear with my .243 as long as I was using a Barnes TTSX. Here (and I apologize to those that have seen these pics numerous time) are some pictures of a bullet I recovered embedded in a roast from a doe I shot in PA a few years ago. The deer was 235 yards, head on, I had a perfect rest and all the confidence in the world. At the shot she just disappeared, she flipped over backwards and never twitched. I hit her just off center and the bullet ended up lodged in the roast on one side of the hind quarter. Pretty good performance for an 80gr bullet............... I'll be carrying my .243 stoked with that same bullet this weekend, wish me luck.
  22. Dude...........................................
