You guys are making this tough on me.......................... $40 takes all four, shipped to your door. I will be donating the $40 I get for these (if you guys buy them!) and matching it for a total donation of $80 to the NYDove Hunting ad fund for the 2016 NYS Hunting syllabus. If nobody wants them, I'll list them elsewhere on the net. Just thought I'd give it a shot here.

Weird huh? You can breeze through a few bites and there's nothing then........................BAM! Man is it great stuff.

You're inexperience shows. Why not post up a picture of the entire woods; you know, your face and the "big woods" behind you? You were aiming specifically for the heart, WHY? You were really stretching it at 45 yards.......... Admit it, you hunt Erie County and you can't use a centerfire gun but you would if you could. Oh, I promise you my rifle (any of them) will be more accurate at 50 yards than your shotgun. This discussion is certainly not moot.

Last night we had our last (pretty sure) pack of backstraps from last year but for some reason we had leftovers. Today the Mrs. went and got some au jus sauce, Costanzo's Rolls and some fesh Miller's Horseradish. I sliced the left over 'strap paper thin and left it in the heating au jus sauce for about 10 minutes. Steamed some broccoli and nuked some leftover smashed potatoes and put it on a plate. It was excellent but the Miller's Horseradish was incredibly snappy. Holy cripes did it open the old nostrils......................man o man! Miller's is made in good old Lockport, NY. We've been buying it for many, many years but it's never been like THIS.

I wore the wrong damned boots today for the slush. Wet feet and chilled to the bone..............thank goodness for the bourbon spiked eggnog at the office. I'll probably wear the same boots tomorrow.

Who are the ones saying that Rob? -
Who will be hunting Cornell Ithica this January?

What's wrong with that? Not sure what your beef is and do hope to hear it. I'm sure a big part of this is population reduction?? Must not be any coyotes there? -

From Biologist John Kilgo (who is quoted in the OP's link and who wrote the info. in the link below) http://www.treesearch.fs.fed.us/pubs/35307 From the above link: "Although this evidence does not establish cause and effect between coyotes and observed declines in deer recruitment, we argue that additional research should proactively address this topic in the region. We identified several important questions on the nature of the deer–coyote relationship in the East." -
Honest to Penelope, not too many police SWAT teams using open sighted 20ga smooth bores for THEIR task. I don't take my responsibility lightly, I choose the most accurate option available and I dare say I knew my shotgun/slug as good as ANYBODY. I shot plenty of slugs each year, testing different loads when they came out with new/better options. Rifled barrels, telescopic sights etc. are not going to be out shot by smooth bores and open sights at the extended ranges that the best slugs today are capable of. Ain't happening............ Fire Suit Donned!

Happy Birthday John!

Brush Busters! Smooth bore guns, shiit slugs and open sights; what are you guys thinking of? In this day and age of improved rifled shotgun barrels, the best slugs EVER, great scopes and RIFLES you are going backwards!! If the rifle isn't "safe" enough for your spot, the shotgun isn't going to be any better! Who are you kidding? Yup, load the 12ga pump or semi auto up with 5 slugs and bang away. That'll be MUCH better........... Slugs don't tumble in the brush, neither do 45-70 bullets..........................HA!

Thanks WNYBuckHunter. Anybody else?

Broiled salmon, smashed potatoes and good old broccoli. Darn good. Tomorrow, the last of 2014 backstraps and a package of tenderloins.

Rimfire cartridges aren't legal, only centerfire. For now........................
