Assembly gun bill
WingNut replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
The way I read it Any semi (rifle or shotgun) regardless of capacity that has any one of aforementioned features would considered an AW.... in addition, any shotgun with a capacity of 7 rounds regardless of features. -

Assembly gun bill
WingNut replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Please let me know if I read this correctly! 1. I don't see any provisions to grandfather detachable mags greater than 10 rounds regardless of caliber? 2. I don't understand the .22 rifles. They must be at least 30 years old to be grandfathered? 3. Standard/Basic semi auto pistols are not included in this legislation? 4. ALL sales Private or Otherwise required to go through FFL with Background Check. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks and God Help US. -

The bill passed the Senate...should be signed into law tomorrow. Doesn't it have to voted on be the Assembly before becoming a law? -

I've read near food sources and south face slopes. But I haven't put it to practice yet.

That is exactly the point, it isn't based on truth. The media has confused the hell out of me, a gun owner. What do you think they have done to non owners? I think the media in intentionally fueling ignorance. These new bills are exploiting aesthetic features of weapons over and above function and intended usefulness. If these bills are passed, my .22 rifle with modified a stock, my shotgun with pistol grip etc will be considered an assault weapon? I mean really... and I can even imagine what mandatory registration would do,

I was going to go. But heard about the picket. Then on News 6 this morning vendors are prohibited for selling and/or viewing weapons "similar to those that were used at Sandy Hook". The media just grossly misreports to the uniformed. Can't believe how ignorant or intentionally irresponsible the media is. PS I would like to go, but I see confrontation and that is the last thing any of need.

Here we go....
WingNut replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I don’t mean to be insensitive to the victims, families or anyone effected by recent events. But, these bills are truly ridiculous. I blame ignorance and the media spewing inaccurate information in just about every article written concerning violent crimes involving firearms. I agree something has to change, but altering our gun laws based on aesthetic features of a firearm. I don’t understand. -
Happy New Year all. God Bless

My understanding was two semi auto pistols. The rifle was found in his car. -

From what I've read, it needs to have two or more of the following additional features: Folding Stock Pistol Grip Bayonet Mount Flash Suppressor or threaded barrel able to accept a suppressor Grenade Launcher You may want to ask them if they've been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving domestic violence.

When is good time to start looking?

I think we all need to be respectful and patient right now. There are going to be changes soon.

Wouldn't Hold up in court? Seriously !.... Anyone, if you want to hunt there just make a phone call to the town clerk. The DEC officer I ran into was great and explained the town ruling to me. Lessoned learned for me.
-
Understood, however the town of Clifton park does not permit rifles. I know this from first hand experience.
-
Keep in mind you can only shot gun or muzzle loader in there.

Huge topic! ... just watch and learn. .
